#MURDER ON A COUNTRY LANE#
By: Jon Harril
An enjoyable cozy mystery set in a small Wales town. A very disagreeable and unpopular woman is found murdered in a most bizarre manner, pinned to a gate by an automobile belonging to a local colonel known for his forgetfulness. He has no idea how his vehicle became involved in the lady's demise. Enter local amateur sleuth, a young woman, who has much to prove to the town of her worth and competence. Especially as the local policeman investigating the murder thinks she's a hopeless ditz. A further complication, she finds herself enjoying the attention of this policeman's son. You'll not be disappointed reading this cozy romp and discovering the diabolical killer lurking in the small town.
I received this book from #NetGalley# and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
An entertaining and compelling cozy mystery that I thoroughly enjoyed. It's well done, characters are fleshed out and the solid plot kept me guessing.
Recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher for this ARC, all opinions are mine
Thanks NetGalley for this ARC
Funny, cozy whodunit packed with lovable characters. Couldn’t put it down.
Looking forward to the next story
Thank you to author, publisher and netgalley for giving me an ARC of the book.
This is a cozy murder mystery which is a smooth read.
The story sometimes feels to be moving at a slow pace and did not feel bored at any point
The plot of the story is good, and was hard to guess the killer until the end which is great.
I plan to pick up other books by the author and highly recommend picking this book if one is into cozy mysteries.
Being a fan of police procedurals I like the occasional cosy mystery to make for a more gentle read which attracted me to this book. Sadly it wasn't one for me. I found the main character irritating & sadly this didn't work for me. Thanks to Netgalley & the publisher for letting me read & review this book.
Murder on a Country Kane is a thoroughly enjoyable cost mystery. When a mischievous pup sets off a chain of events leading to a dead body Julia and Sally must find the real killer to clear Julia of the murder. .
I was interested in this because I thought it looked and sounded like the type of book I would enjoy.
This was a charming cosy mystery. I found myself escaping into the countryside setting, and I found some of the characters fun and a little bit eccentric. This is ideally the type of book that I would choose as a light read, if I have an hour or two to fill. It was light enough to read in one sitting, and I say it was ideal for when you want to curl up with a hot drink and escape with a book. It's definitely the type of book that would get my attention if I saw it in a bookshop or library, I would probably pick it up. I would also be interested in reading more books by this author.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for a free copy to review.
