I feel like this book was written for me, or people like me.
People who don't love Haller, but do love Connelly's writing.
He lulled me in with Bosch (it was emotional at times) and got me all invested in the crime and then he hands over to Haller.
And I completely fell for it, cheering him on, sympathising at his set backs, cheering his brilliant thinking.
Yep, I totally fell into the "Haller's great" thinking.
Bosch will always be my favourite, but I could definitely read a few more of this sort.

I was delighted to obtain a copy of this novel by Michael Connelly, featuring Harry Bosch, and, for a first, he is teamed with Mickey Haller, the Lincoln Lawyer.
Great! Both my favourite characters working together.
They have formed a project to liberate the wrongly convicted, and they team up to investigate a woman incarcerated for shooting her policeman ex-husband. Harry checks the convictions for anything amiss, and Mickey then decides whether to take the case further.
Something doesn't sit right for Harry. From then, Harry displays his inimitable skill in tracking the evidence, and Mickey's flair in the management of events is brilliant, as always.
The story is terrific and it is a page turner from the beginning. I started at night, intending to read a chapter or two. On reflection, I should have known I'd be up all night reading it. I don't know what time I went to sleep, but I hadn't put it down at all.
I recommend the novel highly as I would recommend the rest of the Harry Bosch books. They are all fantastic and the author is one of my favourites.
