This was a fun graphic novel with magic, mysterious dark forces and beings. I really enjoyed this graphic novel, especially the art. The art reminded me of a tv show I watched as a kid, Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends.
If you enjoy magic, witches, sisterhood, halflings and sapphic romances then I recommend you to read this book. But there’s a bit of violence in this, so be aware of that in case you are a little squeamish.
This was a really great one! LOVED the magic system and sense of community, as well as the reveals that show that it is set in a sort of dystopian world instead of a fantasy one! A tiny bit confusing at times, and sometimes some of the characters look very similar. BUT I will live!
I cannot wait to read the next one!
I was excited about this one but it was archived before I got fully invested, so sadly it's a DNF for me.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for letting me read this book!
This was a really interesting story with a unique world and nice illustrations. The plot was kind of all over the place and I felt like I was missing a lot of background information that would have made it make more sense.
Ich weiß ehrlich gesagt nicht, wie ich dieses Buch bewerten soll, da ich es aufgrund relativ kurzer Ausleihdauer (ohne Verlängerung) nicht lesen konnte.
When I was given this book I didn't know that it was a first part of a story but, oh boy do I want to know more. The lore is given to you in the exact dosage that you need in the moment that's needed; Stéphane Fert knows how to build hype! It's true that getting to know more about the world at the same time as the protagonist is a already done thing, but this book calls for it.
Temperance is a half-ogre saved from a vicious village by a witch. After this piece of knowledge we are brought to the future where Temperance has been taught about martial arts and witchcraft...kinda. But the problem is that someone is after her, a hunter that wants to kill every ogre.
I really liked seeing such a diverse WOMEN ONLY cast with different body types, truly shocking as I didn't ever see that before. Also, the colours used in the book are amazing, how much they say and how the author plays with them! Remarkable.
However I thought that, some times, pretty scenery was put into higher value than dialogue and moving the story foward, I understand that this needs more books to tell the complete story but it seemed like a way to stretch the ending and messing with the tempo of the story.
I do want to know what happens next and to know more about this post-apocalyptic world so I will keeping an eye on this.
Okay so it's not that I disliked the story at all, it's actually pretty good... it's more that the art was far better than the story. The coloring is impeccable. Even if the story wasn't a new fav I still plan on buying it just for the art.
Oh wow! this was such a joy, gorgeous illustrations, thought-provoking story, I immediately bought myself a copy to keep forever.

The Mist-Walker is a fantasy graphic novel that follows Temperance, a ogre who finds herself living and growing up in a small village of witches. Temperance is about to be initiated into the sisterhood of witches when the mist engulfs the forest once again. The mist leaves the witches to ultimate death, but Temperance's origins make her different.
This graphic novel is beautifully illustrated. This is only the first volume in a series, translated from French but I loved the storyline! The story is quite feminist, but also plays with the idea of "the other" as Temperance is the only ogre in the village and also with outsiders who seem to be up to no good. This volume introduces this world and various characters. I am looking forward to the next volume as the story ends with an intriguing cliffhanger!
Gorgeous book, both in art and story. I read the whole thing in one sitting I just couldn’t put it down.
Amazing world building, interesting and realistic characters, compelling storyline.
I look forward to seeing what happens in the rest of the series and will be looking out for their release dates.
I highly recommend.
I love the whimsical art style and use of colours in this comic. I sadly was too slow to finish the whole book, until my arc ran out, so I'll leave it with a hopeful four stars!
Reading this book I am reminded both in style and tone of Giantess. It's a fantastic exploration of feminine power especially as relates to magic and it's disapproval in society. It's well written and uses the format to great effect.
This was so fun! The art style was beautiful and really brought the story to life in such a lovely display. The story itself was heartwarming and genuinely made me emotional. A really great graphic novel!
An absolutely amazing story perfectly told through a stunning art style. The pages came to life in the most brilliant colour panel. I was completely obsessed with this.
I have mixed feelings about this story. On one hand it is touching and cute, love the themes of found family and love between women. On the other, the art and the way the panels were laid out and constructed made it hard to understand what was going on at times
When you combine beautiful illustrations and an eerie story, you get this book. All around, a fantastic read that is sure to be a hit among library patrons.
Thank you so much for letting me read graphic novel. I liked the story. But it took so e time to get used to the artwork.
Thank you to NetGalley and Europe Comics for the opportunity to read and review this graphic novel. I’ll be honest this graphic novel has such beautiful art and an intriguing concept, however I personally didn’t understand the plot but also felt like there was no set direction in regards to conflict etc. I think personally, I think another volume would set things up better. Because of this point, I have to give this a 3 out of 5 stars
This graphic novel is absolutely stunning. From the artwork to the messages that are within the pages. The way this one little book came together makes me anxiously await the second installment.
This little 100+ page graphic novel touched on so many important topics: magic/witchcraft, feminism, good v. evil, coming together as a community as well as being LGBTQ+ friendly we have an absolute winner on our hands. I cannot wait until it comes out in print so I can have a physical copy for my shelves.
