What a funny read. First time getting a graphic novel/cartoon style book electronically - it did transfer well but I think a physical copy would have been even better.
The story is about two penguins (Pablo and Splash!) who after seeking a holiday end up time travelling - to the age of the dinosaurs! What a holiday!
We can't wait to see what happens on the next adventure with this funny little pair.

Graphic novels are a great way of engaging reluctant readers and, after barely reading any graphic novels in my forty-something years, I have discovered a real love for them too! All of the ones we have read so far, including DogMan, Agent Moose, Bumble and Snug and Pea, Bee and Jay have been incredibly clever and hugely funny and this was no exception:

Pablo and Splash are the best of friends and totally different. Pablo likes his life in the Antarctic but Splash wants change and adventure! Fed up of the freezing weather, Splash persuades Pablo to go on holiday with him. But a series of unexpected events leads them on a time-travelling escapade to the dinosaur age instead. Was life in the Antarctic really that bad?

This is the first in a series of adventures for Pablo and Splash and we found them to be instantly loveable. If you're after a laugh-out-loud adventure that's fun and very silly then you've found the perfect pair of penguins. The illustrations are fab, the plot is twisty and turny and the humour is spot on for younger readers, whilst also appealing to anyone who fancies a giggle. Graphic novels really are the dream combination of words and pictures - exciting, unintimidating and totally page-turning.

Penguins seem to be the characters of the day today. Pablo and Splash are on an adventure away from their normal lives. Pablo wants to stay home and plan his days but Splash needs more and so they head into the world. What they find is much more than they bargained for! They find themselves travelling through time back to the age of dinosaurs. What could possibly go wrong? Funny, exuberant and a new series for GN fans to fall for.

DELIGHTFUL stuff from Sheena Dempsey. It's funny, it's gorgeous, it's everything you could want from a fabulous comic for young readers.

Splash is fed up of krill and being cold, and wants to go on HOLIDAY. Pablo gets dragged along on an adventure in a naughty time machine.

The story is perfect for Bumble and Snug fans. The graphic novel will be even better in print with the full page spreads. Lots of little details to look for in the pictures too (like spotting Splash's hat in the huddle)

I read this with my son over 2 bedtimes. We hadn't even got half way through before he asked to buy his own copy when it's published!

How did we survive before Pablo and Splash came into our lives?

This lovely graphic novel following an adventurous holiday for two hilarious penguins, Pablo and Splash, is perfect for newly confident readers and has humour, great illustrations and even a section at the end full of interesting facts and activities.

They just want to go on a holiday, it gets so chilly in Antarctica but they end up getting way more than they bargained for when instead of flying with British Airways (other airlines are available), they end up in a Timebender with a mischievous streak.

After a kickabout with dinosaurs, all they want is to return home for a KrillPop or twenty but will they make it? If only you could speak Penguish, we might be able to tell you!

We would recommend this book for children aged 6-8 with a love of comics and a good sense of humour.

I absolutely loved this and raced through it in one sitting. As I was chuckling away, I had to read parts of the story out loud and soon had others chuckling too. With engaging characters in the form of two totally different penguins and gorgeous illustrations, this will certainly appeal to children and adults alike. I can already name several children in my class who will devour this.
Please write more!

A great graphic novel all about Pablo and Splash who are 2 penguins used to living in Antarctica. Love how the 2 penguins are best friends but completely opposite. Pablo is very sensible and likes staying at home but Splash longs for adventure and dives headlong into it. All the fun happens when they dive into a robot machine that takes them first flying towards the sun and then back in time to the dinosaurs! Kids will love this and it is really funny.

Oh this one was heaps of fun. Wooshing along on an adventure with the brilliantly funny Pablo and Splash, you many even learn Penguish!

Splash is... cold. Splash may be a penguin but they yearn for somewhere hot. Costa del Sol would be perfect. Pablo's not so sure but comes along anyway and well... let's just say they have quite the adventure which doesn't involve the mocktails Splash was hoping for.

An energetic, smile-enducing, time-travelling adventure involving penguins (& dinosaurs!)! What more could you want?!... Book 2 of course!

OOH I enjoyed this! Loads of fun, some lush science and history too! Pablo and Splash are great penguin pals. They go on an adventure through time and space! Who wants to go see dinosaurs?! Certainly not these penguins! Good job they’re smart! Gorgeously illustrated too!
