Five women; pretty, privileged, perfect and ultimately protected.... but not for long....

It was "their" dark secret. For twenty-two years, "they" kept it buried. Time hadn't healed wounds. Instead, they've festered. Their actions went unpunished.... until now....

Shamed, scarred, and shunned, I watched, waited and plotted how to shatter "their" cruel hands that fateful night. Time's up. I'm here for you., Dr Claudia Harper. But first, you'll witness your childhood friends, one by one, beg for mercy.

The tension starts on the first page and slowly builds throughout. The first part of the story, the pace is on the slow side. Dr Claudia Harper's best friend committed suicide. She goes out with a group of friends, and things go from bad to worse. The story is told from Claudia's perspective. I did guess early on who was responsible for the going ons, but it took nothing away from my enjoyment of this gripping read. Everything that was taking place, made me want to read more. With murder, attempted murder, and weird events taking place, kept me turning the pages to find out more.

I would like to thank #NetGalley #BoldwoodBooks and the author #DanielleRamsay for my ARC of #MyBestFriensaSecret in exschange for an honest review.

Many thanks to #NetGalley and #BoldwoodBooks for an ARC of #MyBestFriendsSecret.
Warning: you won't be able to put this book down after starting.
This book had me gripped from page one. We meet a group of schoolfriends grieving the death of one of their group. We follow one of the group as her life slowly unravels, but why?
I'm not usually a fan of authors dropping lots of hints/breadcrumbs in a book, but this one was done to perfection. It kept me wanting more, and needing to see what happens next or when will we discover what the main protagonist means when they drop a clue as to what happened previous to when we meet our characters.
This was a fast paced book which holds the readers attention well. A definite place on the recommended reads list.

It was very obvious from very early on who was responsible for what was going on,yes there were things happening but for me the story dragged and there was no big wow moment it just never took off for me.
Thanks to Netgalley and Boldwood Books for the ARC.

A good read that was entertaining. Was a little slow at times and couldn't really work out what the best friends secret was!? However, the story was still good and definitely worth a read.

Thank you Boldwood Books and NetGalley for an early copy of My Best Friend’s Secret. The beginning was very sad with the way Claudia and Jacob were hurting each other with sins of omission and doing the unthinkable. It was very long getting to the point of WHY things were happening. I was so glad when it all wrapped up every question there was but it took awhile to get there. Some parts were predictable but all in all a good read, this is the second book I read by Danielle Ramsay and I will continue reading her so please keep writing.

Thanks to Netgalley and Boldwood books for access to this arc in exchange for my honest review.

The first part of the book was quite slow paced, but it was an interesting read. I liked the writing style and the twist in there, even if I didn't really like the Claudia, I felt sad that she's lost people cared about. I did suspect someone was the ''bad guy'' but I didn't predict the reason !

This had a slow start but the pace picked up in the second half. The protagonist Claudia is all aboard the hot mess express. Constantly making irrational choices without thinking anything through. Whew, she had me frustrated enough to yell out loud “What are you thinking?”. Overall this was a good read with some good suspenseful moments and a decent twist in the end.

Thank you to Boldwood Books and NetGalley for allowing me to read this ARC in return for my voluntary and honest review.

Well this was a journey and a half! A slow start gradually built to a tense ending.

Although I didn’t like Claudia, it didn’t spoil my enjoyment of the book, the twists and turns were fantastic, I loved how it all came together and why!

The friends relationships were fascinating to read about, there were so many lies and secrets, it was hard to know who could be trusted 😂

This one is a solid 5 star book across the board. This is the type of book where the tension grabs you from the beginning and doesn't stop until the end. Very well written and a fresh story line. I loved this book.

Claudia, who narrates the book, Jaz, Issie, Ava and Willow have all been friends since they were 11 at boarding school. The book opens at a sad event as it is the funeral of Jaz, who has taken her own life. Claudia is married to Jacob, and her life begins to fall apart from there. We learn much about each character and how they play into the story.

I literally could not put this book down. I needed to finish it and see what happened at the end. Although I guessed midway who was responsible for the going ons, it was still an excellent thriller. I was very happy with the ending.

Thank you to Boldwood Books and Nergalley for the ARC. I highly recommend this book and will definitely tell my friends about it. I greatly appreciate the ARC.

I read these thrillers expecting something amazing, but I know that I will figure it all out by the middle.

Claudia is a mess. Her best friend has just committed suicide, and her other four lifelong friends seem to be keeping something from her. On top of all of that, her husband seems to be also hiding something from her. He says that he didn't cheat on her while she was away, but he had bite marks and scratches on his body.

What follows is a calamity of events that would almost be humorous if they weren't so....stupid. Claudia just comes off as somewhat dim. Just lets everything happen to her, no care of herself or her things, kind of la-ti-da about everything until...well, until the last 1/4 of the book.

The secrets and the reveal are kind of obvious and I think the background could have been explored much more in-depth, but alas, these books are pumped out too rapidly.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for the opportunity to read and review.

It was a little slow to get going, but boy, once it got going it was a veritable roller coaster of thrills.

We start with the funeral of Jasmine, Claudia's best friend. Unfortunately they had grown apart in the run- up to her death, which had been ruled suicide. Claudia is hurt and volatile as her relationship with Jas comes under scrutiny. She's already tormented that her husband is not telling the truth about how he helped a drunk woman to get home, and ended up covered in scratches and bites.

Over the course of the book I totally veered away from my original thoughts about Claudia. For a woman with a good career, she initially infuriated me by refusing to believe anything her husband said, and then getting petty revenge.

But it became clear she had somehow been set up, and her three other long term friends were hiding something. Then she witnesses a hit and run, seriously injuring one of the friends she was about to meet with.

It wasn't too difficult to guess who the perpetrator was, but I would never have guessed in a million years the complex reasons for that person's anger and need for revenge. It's always fantastic when the author keeps us guessing!

Claudia, Jaz, Izzy, Willow and Ava all met at boarding school and have remained friends throughout this time. But sadly we first meet them as they say a sad farewell to Jaz who took her own life.
Claudia is the narrator and she is devastated by Jaz's death and also has worries that her marriage to Jacob is on the rocks. She suspects he's had an affair and despite his protests that he hasn't been unfaithful she cannot get past it. Her life starts imploding from this point on, her friends are alienating her, her decision making is poor and her health is suffering as a result. But worse is yet to come as secrets from the past catch up with them all.
This was a great novel, a real page turner. I liked how the author portrayed the characters, To begin with I wasn't sure if I liked Claudia's character but by the middle stages I felt some sympathy towards her. The tension mounted during each chapter making this novel one of those books you cannot put down.

Claudia is the main character in this book and it seems nothing is going right for her at the moment - her best friend has committed suicide and she suspects her husband to be having an affair. Guilt hits her hard following her friends death, as their last communication wasn’t friendly and she found herself deleting pictures of them and their older text messages.

From the beginning you are gripped as a reader, and as the plot progresses you are hooked into wanting to find out more! I found myself questioning whether I liked Claudia as a person, but as more twists and turns happened, I was intrigued to find out more!

I finished this in two days and would definitely recommend to others!

Claudia's life is not the same since the suicide of Jaz, her best friend, and everything seems to worsen drastically in her personal and professional life, even her group of friends seem to be hiding something related to Jaz.
#MyBestFriendsSecret is one of those books that starts with a slow pace to accelerate at the pace of events building the mood along with the character and thus keeping you glued to its pages. Although there is a moment when it is possible to imagine the culprit, that does not detract from the interest and to know the motives behind his actions. Undoubtedly a page turner.

I actually read this book in a few hours because I just couldn’t put it down! I had no idea what was happening until near the end where I suspected the right person, but had absolutely no idea of the reason - and that’s a great book. There’s murder and attempted murders, weird things happening and a group of best friends who suddenly become suspicious of each other. A great book to read by a cozy fire with a cup of coffee. Thank you NetGalley for letting me read this book in exchange for my honest review.
