What a fun read! I love reading books from a cat's point of view and this one was perfect!
I've loved every book I've read in this series.

A Cosy Cat Crime Caper—I knew I would love this the moment I read the name of the series, and I did. This short novel is the third ‘Cosy Cat Crime Caper’ but ok to be read as a standalone too or out of order since we have enough information to follow along. Jamie lives in Calgary with his three cats Scottie, a tabby boy, Tanzy a calico girl who is quite the feisty one and one must mind her claws, and Alley Cat a tux. We learn that Jamie has moved here after an attempt on his life previously and has only now started dating Sarah who seems to get along well with him and also like the cats. Narrated in the voice of Scottie the tabby, we learn as the story opens that a little girl Jenna Richardson has been abducted from Edmonton and an alert is out in their area as well. Alley and Tanzy want to help her but Scottie feels they are too far from Edmonton to be involved. But he turns out to be wrong as on his night time walk around the neighbourhood where he ends up picking a fight with a very ferocious new dog in the neighbourhood, we see some hints in the home of these new neighbours. Later Scottie meets another cat Tigerboy who confirms that the child is being held there. While Tigerboy, Scottie and the others come up with what they believe is an excellent plan to get Jamie to understand this, the plan doesn’t work instead creating a new layer of trouble and no help for little Jenna. Now it is up to the cats to save her. Can they when there are two evil humans and a dangerous dog to face?

At around 140 pages, The Cat Outside the Window is a quick and enjoyable read, not a mystery but a thriller/adventure with plenty of excitement and lots of fun.

This is narrated by a cat and involves mostly the cats (and some dogs), the humans remaining secondary to the story, but the animals here are not anthropomorphic in any way nor do they have skills they ordinarily won’t—it’s their brains, observation, and also claws and teeth where all the action comes from. But they are cats—so while we have them going all out to rescue the child and coming up with a fairly good and well organised plan, they do get distracted by bags of treats being opened (because how could you not) or getting stroked by their humans when they should be out and about. But nothing to worry about since things do turn out in their favour.

Scottie’s ‘voice’ is nicely done and one can well imagine a cat doing the things he does, exploring at night, establishing his territory and getting cheeky with a dog (which can turn out dangerous, with him escaping by the skin of his teeth a couple of times). Tanzy and Alley likewise have their separate personalities which come through well, as does Tigerboy who has some extraordinary skills which help more than once.

The plot too I thought was well thought out, the cats having to try different things to help the little girl, eventually putting together an elaborate plan. This ultimately does involve a battle (in which all of them come out safe, not a scratch—the humans on the other hand… )—claws and teeth all out, but their ability to comfort with their purrs also counts when Jenna is upset and scared. At the end, the scene is also set for the next caper!

The author Peter Scottsdale has written quite a few cat-ty books, among them both fiction and nonfic, and he does know his cats well.

A fast paced and fun story which any cat lover (even any animal lover) would especially enjoy!

This is a general review of the last two books I read in this series.
I'm a cat lover and love these mysteries featuring a great detective called Scott who's also a cat.
The stories are well plotted, surprising and Scott is a clever and well written cat.
Read it because they're a lot of fun
Highly recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher for this ARC, all opinions are mine

The Cat Outside the Window is the third book in the A Cozy Cat Crime Caper series and this time it tells us how Scottie, Alley and Tanzy, with the help of their new friend Tigerboy and the dog Frenchie, rescue little Jenna , whom her captors kept hidden in a house in Scottie's neighborhood.
Once again, our feline heroes save the day, in a clean, well-written story that will have cat lovers laughing their heads off, especially with Tanzy's masterful performance during the rescue.
So if you want to have a very fun afternoon and even cry from laughter, I recommend that you read The Cat Outside the Window, written by Peter Scottsdale.
I thank the author and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and enjoy this book.
The opinion I have expressed above is based solely on what I think and feel about this book.

1st read in the Cat Detective books by this author. My 1st thought was that it was so cute and exciting to read the story in the view of a cat. It was an excellent read and I would recommend it to its intended audience.

What do you do when a five year old little girl is kidnapped and your a cat? Well you solve the crime. Okay not as easy as it sounds but Scottie is determined. A cute endearing mystery. Love that the kitty is the protagonist. A fun read for all! Thanks #Netgalley and #BooksGoSocial for the eARC in exchange for a honest review. All opinions are mine.
