Pearl and Cord share a complicated past, which the book showcases really well using flashbacks. This is done really clearly, using different chapters which tell you who is speaking and if it's in the present or when in the past it was, which is really helpful for someone like me who can get a bit confused.

I really enjoyed the dual narrative aspect of the book, as well as the flashbacks, to help learn more about the characters and their motivations, actions and responses in the present day based on things they had been through before.

The characters are likeable, there's a bit of 🌶 mixed in throughout the book and generally it's a sweet, endearing book with a focus on family, friendship and the importance work should or shouldn't hold in comparison to love.

This one just wasn’t for me. It was my first read by Williams and I’d seen great reviews for her other books. But I struggled to enjoy this one. I was tempted to put it down more than once but wanted to continue to provide an honest review. I like Cord. He was a cutie who just wanted to show a woman he loved her. Pearl, I couldn’t relate to at all. We know she had a bad relationship that stopped her pursuing anything with cord but were given the tiniest of back stories and expected to use it to justify her treating Cord like crap. She was just stubborn in the worst way. I just wanted to tell the poor guy to walk away. Of course they end up together.

I really like this author and when writing style. She is really good at world building and creating interesting characters. I enjoyed Cord and Pearl’s chemistry. They had a nice, easy rapport and as much as they felt like romantic partners, they also felt like they had a solid friendship as well. The story took a little while to get going but once it did it was interesting. I did think Pearl got in her own way a little bit towards the end but liked how things were resolved. 3⭐️

i really enjoyed reading 'Technically Yours'! pearl and cord are such a wholesome couple, their chemistry made me feel warm and fuzzy. my only criticism is that the sex scenes come across a little mechanical in my opinion.

even though the story is told through two timelines, williams' writing style makes it easy to follow. and, honestly, it made me root for pearlcord even more because you can see how much they'd both developed over time.

i know nothing about tech, but the language used is understandable. and i like how diverse and inclusive the supporting cast of characters, and workplaces are.

denise williams you've made a fan out of me!

thank you to netgalley and little brown book group for sending me an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Thanks so much to Denise Williams, Piatkus and NetGalley for the eARC, all opinions expressed are my own!

I have mixed feelings about this read, whilst I enjoyed the unravelling of the story, I just could quite get behind the FMC. Her actions towards the end of the book was slightly frustrating and I was impressed by Cord’s patience and steadfastness in his feelings towards Pearl.

Despite this, I enjoyed the focus on STEM and I enjoyed seeing the way in which Oearl had to fight for her role based on her own qualities.

Whilst I wasn’t as connected to the FMC, I loved the style of writing and enjoyed the found family aspect and the way Cord integrated into Pearl’s family.

Denise Williams does it again with another wonderful romantic story filled with plenty of lust, longing and delightful side characters.

Set across two timelines with a dual point of view, the book follows Pearl and Cord as they balance working relationships with romantic ones. Cord is the perfect golden retriever, who has never been able to fall out of love with Pearl. And whilst not quite black cat, Pearl is head strong in her belief that career and family trumps all, ignoring her heart for her head.

Thanks NetGalley and Little Brown Book Group for the ARC.
