Excellent storytelling by Bruce McAlpine. I thoroughly enjoyed both the adventure of selling antiquities, and the maturing of the characters. Add to that the visual elements of locations and you have a first class story.

He also goes to Greece, and this is really interesting. The book because they talk about the atrocities which the Germans did to these people on this island. In the forties. He's also part of the underworld of fake antiquitie Misleads into all sorts of trouble. He realizes trap and everything. And you're trying to fall in love with this woman. But she had boundaries for For who. You find alphabetical lady who ran me. A state in Italy was really an American. And she was just owned by her family because she married. This man Named R ESP LING.. He had a crazy pass, too, because he was involved with Fascist in italy in nineteen forty. She had a lot of money but her family Said come home or else. This is interesting how they tied on this together in this book
Let me start by saying that the magic of books by Bruce McAlpine is the visual storytelling. These locations, the feeling of being there, it really is an experience in history to read his books.
In Another Place was a much different experience than I had reading These Millions of Years, where I was familiar with Egyptian history I went into this one with little knowledge of the world of Italian art.
Overall this was an interesting read that kept me engaged and wondering what would happen next. With as much as I enjoyed these books I'll happily read anything Bruce McAlpine writes.
Thank you to Troubador and NetGalley for providing an advance copy of this E-Book, I have voluntarily read and reviewed it and all thoughts and opinions are my own.
I didn’t enjoy this book at all. The characters were shallow and not believable. An unsympathetic antiques dealer dealing in illegally sourced items. A countess , perfectly poised and turned out at one point and then giggly and nervous. I found it hard to concentrate and basically skim read.
