Are you looking for a quick read that takes you to the island of Turks and Caicos? Then this one is for you!
Their Last Resort follows Paige and Cole. Paige runs excursions as a Turks and Caicos resort and Cole is the assistant director of operations at the same resort. They seem to have this mutual dislike for each other. But when Paige's job is on the chopping block, Cole tries to do everything he can to save her job. So the question is, is there more to their relationship?
Book Tropes:
- Workplace Romance
- Forced Proximity
- Enemies/Dislike to Lovers
- Opposites Attract
- One Bed
- Grumpy x Sunshine
- Set in Turks and Caicos
My Thoughts: This was the first book from R.S. Grey that I have read. It was a simple and quick read. There were moments that I found to be funny and entertaining. Paige's personality is fun and vibrant, where Cole is very analytical. These two could not be any more different but they have been pining for each other since the moment Paige started working at the resort which translated as dislike due to many instances that happened within the book.
Was this book predictable? Yes it was. Was it a quick and easy read? Yes it was. Do I think you should read it? That depends. For me it fell a little flat and this is the reasoning why. I felt like there was a lack of description and narration when it came to certain scenarios in the book. And this could be me just being a selfish reader and wanting more, but I felt like I wanted to see more of how their relationship progressed. The book started off with her despising him and then all of a sudden they are saying I love you and I'm like woah where did that come from. I felt like there was a lot of focus on a plot that I didn't need. I wanted more of their relationship and not the inner workings of the resort/side characters. Secondly, did I find this funny? Yes there were moments that were funny. But I also didn't connect with the FMC. And I think that is also my problem, she's a fun and vibrant character but there were moments where I am like she's acting like a pick me girl and I just can't relate. But honestly I just love a book that has a world building and character progression where you can see how their relationship has grown. The little we got with the flashbacks of what happened between them seemed like it should have been elaborated on. Also this is a dual POV, but it's mainly in Paige's POV with only a couple chapters in Cole's POV. Which I would have loved to see more of Cole's perspective.
Now I know not every book with be for everyone. For me this is a run of the mill. I enjoyed it but I didn't love it. I feel like this would be a good quick read on vacation but I wouldn't necessary stop talking about it with my friends. With that being said, these are my opinions and I know you may have a different opinion and absolutely love this book. I think that is why reading is so great because we all love different things!

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for letting me read this book!
Overall, this was a fun, turn your brain off kind of rom-com with a decent mix of romance and comedy. There’s an interesting cast of characters—some you love, some you hate, and some you forget about. I appreciated that there wasn’t at 80% break up, but if there had been, they’d have only been together for 5 minutes since they didn’t actually get together until almost 75% of the way in.
General dislikes: Cole’s perspective in the book often came across as controlling and lacking in respect for Paige. He’s convinced they’re meant to be together, but constantly berates her in front of others, makes her feel bad about herself, and won’t act on his feelings or even express them for no apparent reason. Meanwhile, Paige is doing just about everything to get him to notice her (even when she doesn’t realize that’s what she’s doing) and it takes her putting herself out there yet again, for him to finally admit he cares about her and wants to be with her. It made for a power imbalance in their relationship for almost the entire story (felt more balanced after the hurricane) where he held all the cards and she’s just trying to make do with whatever she can get her hands on.

Loved the summery vibes of this book, and RS Grey will always continue to be one of my number one comfort read authors whenever I need to brighten my mood, but this wasn't my favorite book from her

Thank you, NetGalley, for introducing me to a new favorite romance author! I loved the atmosphere and the story. 5STars. Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for providing me this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Cute work place romance. Paige and Cole, work together at an island resort. Do they like each other…no not really. Do they eventually figure out that they like each other ohhh yeah! Does it take a natural disaster to do sooo…pretty much. This is a cute read with a fun story and a lot going on. Some work place drama and eventually a relationship meant to be. The characters have some baggage and a few awkward moments but definitely figure out where they belong..with each other.

From the moment I started Their Last Resort, I was irresistibly drawn in. Paige's fiery spirit immediately resonated with me. Her passion for her profession and the zest with which she approaches every day is truly commendable. Paige's introduction through Cole's perspective had me initially wary of him but as I delved deeper into Cole's thoughts and witnessed his underlying protectiveness towards Paige, he completely won me over. They were such a cute pair! The simmering tension and playful banter between Cole and Paige kept me riveted. The slow progression of their relationship, peppered with their delightful disagreements, made me cherish every moment leading up to their romance.

Cute, Enemies to lovers, Fast.
I was lucky enough to get a copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley. This book is very much a cute Enemies to lovers read. Unfortunately for me it was a little predictable but I did enjoy it.
There is also only one bed trope included in it which is one of my favourites and I really enjoyed those scenes.
It is a cute, quick read that would be quite enjoyable if you are a fan of enemies to lovers. It was a 3.25 star read for me. Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for a #gifted copy of the book in exchange for an honest review. The book is out now.

Didn’t love this book. Usually I can fly through a book by R.S Grey but this one was a struggle to get through. Most of their problems would’ve been solved if they had just talked to either other and laid out their feelings

The plot was pretty predictable but the characters were very likable. The comedic situations they encountered were actually realistic. Overall the book was very entertaining.

Thank you R.S Grey, Grey Promo and NetGalley for the eARC. All thoughts and reviews are on my own.
RS Grey can do no wrong in my eyes. I always devour her books and this one is no different. She wrote the most perfect work place, enemies to lovers opposites attract summer read. This book is the perfect, fast pace quick romantic comedy read that everyone should grab.
Paige is fun loving, spontaneous down for anything girl. Cole is a number crunching, likes the way things are to a T kinda guy. These two have the most delicious tension building romance. These two absolutely drive each other mad and it just builds up the comment aspect cause you just know they secretly love each other.
The storyline was perfect. Another thing RS does well is write a great plot. It was boring, kept you engrossed and wanting more. The only downfall is weight is mention the wrong way a few times but that’s my only complaint. The development of the relationship felt like a perfect speed, the banter and wit was great, and the ending was glorious.
This is definitely your next summer read you need to grab!

I have enjoyed books by R.S. Grey in the past, but this one didn't live up to my expectations. The female main character was annoying and immature. I also found the reasons for the forced proximity of the couple to be a bit contrived. This one was just ok, and maybe aimed at a younger audience than me. It just may be that books for "new adults" don't work for me as well as they used to. Thank you forctge opportunity to read this and provide my honest review.

R.S. Grey’s Their Last Resort is the perfect enemies-to-lovers romance set against the breathtaking backdrop of a luxury resort in Turks and Caicos. It’s an entertaining and heartwarming journey filled with witty banter, tension-filled moments, and the undeniable chemistry between two polar opposites—Paige Young and Cole Clark.
Paige, the adventurous and spirited activities leader, and Cole, the rule-abiding assistant director, couldn’t be more different. From the start, their rivalry is palpable, filled with hilarious quips and tense exchanges that keep the pages turning. Grey has mastered the art of witty dialogue, and it’s this playful back-and-forth that makes their relationship so engaging. Their constant battles of will create an electric dynamic that brings out the best (and sometimes the worst) in both of them.
But beneath their rivalry lies a deeper connection—one that neither is ready to admit. Their chemistry simmers from the start, building slowly until the inevitable moment when everything comes to a head. The hurricane serves as the perfect metaphor for the storm brewing between them, forcing them to confront not only the literal danger but also the emotions they’ve been hiding for so long. Grey expertly weaves in moments of vulnerability and humor that balance out the heightened tension.
The tropical island setting is beautifully described, creating a vivid escape for readers. The looming hurricane adds an element of urgency and danger that heightens the stakes. Being forced into close quarters while sheltering from the storm creates a pressure cooker environment that’s perfect for peeling back their emotional walls and revealing their true feelings.
What makes Their Last Resort stand out is the balance between humor and heartfelt moments. Paige’s free-spirited nature contrasts with Cole’s methodical, buttoned-up persona, but as they’re forced to rely on each other, it’s clear that they complement one another in unexpected ways. The growth in their relationship feels organic, moving from reluctant allies to something deeper, with plenty of swoon-worthy moments along the way.
Grey’s signature blend of charm, humor, and heart is on full display in this romance, making Their Last Resort an absolute delight for fans of enemies-to-lovers tropes. With its tropical paradise setting, laugh-out-loud banter, and emotional depth, it’s the kind of book that sweeps you off your feet and leaves you with a smile long after the final page. Highly recommended for those looking for a feel-good romance with the perfect amount of heat and heart!

This book is such a fun beach read!
You get the romance, the banter, some comedy/tragedy, and mix it together for an entertaining read. I really enjoyed how different the two main characters were and how much they clashed during the beginning of the book.
I will say the tail end felt a little rushed but overall was an enjoyable experience.

R.S. Grey is one of my go-to authors! Her books are always funny and have a great plot. And this one was no different.
Paige and Cole’s banter is everything. I loved the enemies to lovers, opposites attract, stranded together trope. R.S. Grey has a way to make every book unique and funny. I read this one so fast.

In this workplace romcom, we get to meet Paige and Cole. This book does have the normal banter that we come to enjoy from a R.S. Grey book, but it was different than her normal ones overall. This had the insta love and he fell first, set in the tropical setting. I loved the dual POV. Overall this book was a good one. I did enjoy it. It felt rushed at times and not her normal writing but I would recommend it.
I received this ARC through the publisher and I am voluntarily reviewing this book, opinions are my own.

This one was quite fun. It had a great, relaxing vibe, with likeable characters and an entertaining scenery. If you are looking for a good time, relaxing on the couch and travelling to some warm place, this one is for you!

I hadn't read an R.S. Grey book in a long time, so I thought I would give this one a go. Unfortunately, this one wasn't for me. I DNF'd it by 30%. I couldn't get into the characters or the writing for this one.

It was enjoyable ride - very light and heartwarming, perfect as a vacation read. I loved how author build romance between this couple and how their feelings evolved going further into the storyline.
4 stars because I thinking expected a little more after reading the book ? IT was really good book but from other side nothing surprised me as I needed to.

This was my first rs grey book and it won't be my last. This book was fun and sexy with a little drama built in.

This is a rivals to lovers, workplace romance between resort workers, Paige and Cole. These two flawed but likeable souls and the unique plot make for an entertaining read. It is a slow burn love story with drama and steam, sexual tension and chemistry, and twists and turns, plus appealing secondary characters to keep the reader interested. An easy, fun read.
I received an Advance Reader Copy of this book from Grey's Promotions and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
