This was a pretty cute rom-com-esque story. Interestingly enough, it explored multiple tropes: enemies-to-lovers, opposites attract, forced proximity and office romance.
I'll start with the MMC, Cole. Underneath his confident and cocky exterior, he's the definition of adorable. He's shy and a little unsure of himself, but he musters just enough courage to let Paige see little snippets of who he really is when it matters most.
As for Paige, the FMC, she's certainly likable and "cute", but alas, I found her to be terribly annoying. She misjudged Cole from the beginning, without realizing that he was completely smitten with her and too painfully shy to do anything about it. Instead of giving him the benefit of the doubt, she treated him like he was the enemy, even after "the incident" on the beach, and she doesn't give him a chance to explain after she overhears the unthinkable.
Regardless, it's quite fitting that it's a storm that finally brings these two together. Their interactions thereafter are adorable. It reads sort of like a high school romance, but in a good way. The shared awkwardness and distance that they have to work through creates the kind of tension that is incredibly sweet.
I did like that the story doesn't end when they finally admit to their feelings (despite how confusing that scene is). The story has some very sweet moments, and the storyline is quite enjoyable. but, unfortunately, the FMC just didn't do it for me.
