I am usually a huge fan of books about women behaving badly. I love an unhinged female lead. And I did love this one… until Millie got so insufferable that I couldn’t stand her. I don’t want to give away too much here, but I just wanted to see her have like, an ounce of self awareness and it just didn’t happen. The book was entertaining for sure. All plot, minimal character development in a way that was fun but also dissatisfying.

Thank you NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

A page turner from the first sentence, How to Kill a Guy in Ten Ways tracks Millie’s path from vigilante to serial killer. This is a gripping thriller, but also full of humour and light hearted moments. Millie is largely a likeable character, who makes no apologies for her extra curricular pursuits. There’s something refreshing about a female serial killer that takes full accountability for their actions. Even more than this, Millie is both heroine and villain, depending on whose perspective you look at. The complexity of the character makes it hard to do anything other than root for Millie.

I could see this as a movie, beginning with a voice over and scenes from the past as flashbacks.

I absolutely loved this and couldn’t read it fast enough. In fact, I got a headache from spending too long on my Kindle! A five star for me and I really look forward to Eve Kellman’s next book!

Millie is the undercover hero who responds to the cries of women in danger. If there’s anything she can do for them, this is it. Until her sister is sexually assaulted and Millie amps up her mission but she may be putting herself in danger.

This was a fantastic read with a sprinkling of humour. I didn’t expect the twists and loved the plot.

a. This book is what happens when Promising Young Woman and the Finlay Donovan series have a baby. But it’s like Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Philippe’s kids who look eerily similar to them.
b. It took me longer to read this book than I thought it would mainly because I found the main character so unlikable. I usually LOVE an unhinged girlie so the premise of this book really spoke to me. The problem is that I need a sexual assault vigilante to be a girl’s girl and Millie is NOT that. It feels like she’s killing these men solely to make herself feel better. She says she’s doing it to protect her sister but she literally sits idly by watching her sister slowly waste away into nothing. She hates almost all of her friends and she treats her very kind boss like a doormat. It’s so much but not in a good way. I will say, the ending picked up quite a bit for me, mainly because I, like Nina, am a help clean up the mess level best friend.

I recently had the pleasure of delving into this book, and I am beyond impressed with the mesmerizing world that the author has crafted. From start to finish, the intricate plot weaves a tapestry of suspense, emotion, and unexpected twists that kept me eagerly turning the pages.

One of the standout features of this book is undoubtedly its characters. Each one is meticulously developed, breathing life into the narrative with their unique personalities, motivations, and flaws. The protagonists are not just names on paper; they are relatable, complex individuals with whom readers can form a genuine connection. The antagonist, too, is not a mere foil but a multi-dimensional force that adds depth to the story. The author's ability to create such well-rounded characters is a testament to their storytelling prowess.

The plot unfolds seamlessly, drawing the reader into a richly layered narrative that expertly balances tension, drama, and moments of poignant reflection. The pacing is impeccable, maintaining a perfect rhythm that keeps the reader engaged without sacrificing the depth of the story. The author skillfully navigates through various plot arcs, interweaving them with finesse to create a cohesive and satisfying whole.

What sets this book apart is its ability to tackle profound themes while maintaining an accessible and engaging narrative. The book seamlessly combines suspense and emotional depth, making it a truly immersive experience. The author's prose is both elegant and evocative, painting vivid imagery that lingers in the reader's mind long after the final page is turned.

As I reached the conclusion, I found myself yearning for more from this talented author. Their ability to craft a gripping plot and bring characters to life is truly commendable. I eagerly anticipate future works and would wholeheartedly recommend this book to any reader who appreciates a masterfully told tale. If you're searching for a book that seamlessly blends captivating characters with a compelling plot, this is a shining example. I can't wait to explore more literary worlds crafted by this exceptional storyteller.

I so badly wanted to love this, the book title was the first thing that got me excited & the premise was incredible but it just fell so flat. I hated the main character , she’s rude, miserable & downright annoying, how she has any friends is beyond me! It’s also not what you think it’s going to be going into it. I came so close to DNFing this one but physically can’t not finish a book no matter how much I don’t enjoy it so it took me a long while to get through. I can see others loving this but to me it just wasn’t anything close to what I expected & as I say the main character ? Ugh get her in the bin!

Sadly this wasn’t for me. It took ages to get going, which I know the author was trying to build a backstory, but it took too many chapters, when this could’ve been added as you went along with the story. I loved how to kill men and get away with it, and was hoping this would be along similar lines, but sadly it missed the mark

This had some Finlay Donovan vibes and those books, like this one, just aren't for me! I much prefer a female lead who is smart and cunning rather than just stumbling into a mess and somehow getting out of it. This was OK - I think it just isnt for me.

Entertaining and darkly humorous, with snark and some serious undertones. The ending wasn’t super believable, but hey…it’s fiction. On top of that, the ending was 100% satisfying. I would definitely recommend this one.

Normally, I'm a really big fan of this style of reading. From 'How to Kill Men & Get Away With It' to 'Finley Donovan is Killing It' - I think they're funny, and even though they deal with dark topics, overall, they're pretty good.

This one didn't feel new or fresh - but if it's the first of its kind you've read, then I would see the appeal. Funny at times... but more so than anything - I was frustrated by the main character's continuous blunders (like she had never watched a crime show in her life??)

I also think I like it more when our heroines (?) are more cunning and not quite so bumbling. If you're going to do it.. do it right, lol

**Thank you to Avon & NetGalley for the advanced reader copy. I received this book for free, but all thoughts are my own. – SLR 🖤

As a reader, I found "How to Kill a Guy in Ten Ways" by Eve Kellman to be a thrilling and addictive read. The concept of a female vigilante seeking revenge on men who harm women is a unique and captivating one. The main character, Millie, is strong, complex, and relatable, making it easy to root for her even as she descends into madness.
The dark humour and fast-paced plot kept me engaged throughout the book, and I could not put it down. The commentary on society and the treatment of women added depth to the story and made it even more thought-provoking. The twists and turns kept me on the edge of my seat, and I was constantly surprised by the story's direction.
Overall, "How to Kill a Guy in Ten Ways" was a fun and gripping read that I highly recommend to anyone looking for a thrilling and entertaining novel. I can't wait to see what Eve Kellman has in store for us next.

Thank you Netgalley, Eve Kellman and Avon Books UK, Avon for the eArc of How to Kill a Guy in Ten Ways.

This narrative drew me in and gripped me from the start and probably touches on some very sensitive issues. Millie Masters works in a framing store, runs and at night, runs a helpline called Message M. This helpline helps saves countless young women and girls who feel uncomfortable when they are out and need an exit strategy . On date? getting touched ? No problem, Message M.

As the narrative unfolds, it's clear that Millie set up this helpline to help other girls because, she couldn't save her sister. Who experiences a life changing event that leaves her bedridden, Millie tries to get to the bottom of what happened, her sister would rather forget. Millie starts to take matters into her own hands and snowballs.

I loved this book, it had everything In it. Dark humour, issues surrounding women's safety, stalking and friendship. I love the twists and turns in the storyline and I felt that the pacing of the narrative was great. I couldn't stop reading as it kept me engaged and I wanted to know how far Millie would go to seek revenge on her sister, Katie's assailant.. I loved Nina, Millie's friend, who figured things out and stayed by her to the bitter end .This would make a great audiobook in my opinion so I'll be looking out for that in the future.

This book is RIGHT up my alley. I love a good female vigilante who rights the wrongs men. Millie is immediately a character that draws you in. The love for her sister and her anger for all the women taken advantage of is relatable and makes you want to go along for the ride of revenge. I can’t wait for this author to write another novel.

Thank you for the ARC copy of How to Kill a Guy in Ten Ways. This was a fun quick read. I wasnt sure what to expect when it came to this one since I havent read anything by this author before but I thought it was good for my first book by Eve. It had lots of funny moments thrown in and the pace was good. Def have to watch for some trigger warnings though since some people arent always up for those. Overall I give this one a 3 stars.

4 solid stars.

What a fantastic debut! Eve Kellman reminds me of Bella Mackie and Katie Brent with this dark, funny thriller.
Mille Masters might have become one of my new favourite female serial killer. Her motivation is to avenge her sister and to protect other women with her help line “Message M”.

Some great characters in this, obviously her sister Katie and also her best friend Nina who I grew to love!

There was a few things while I read, I thought this wouldn’t happen in real life? Anyways I thought the story was great and it was funny, so therefore I enjoyed it.

Thank you Netgalley and to the author for my ARC!

Read and reviewed in exchange for a free copy from NetGalley. This book gripped me right from the off. Kellman writes sensitively about important social themes, and the book was dark, funny, well-paced, and had a heartbreaking twist. Although Millie wasn't exactly a likeable narrator, I was utterly invested in her story, and I liked the supporting characters such as Nina.

I was so excited when I saw the description for this book on Netgalley as I absolutely loved, "How to Kill Men and Get Away With It" by Katy Brent and "Bad Men" by Julie Mae Cohen so I thought this book would be similar. The only similarities is that the main character, Millie was a killer. However, she was also the worst. She was not clever, cunning, or charming. I never was on her side or rooting for her throughout the book. The beginning of the book she spends most of the time basically hating on everything. She hates her friends, she hates maternity photo shoots, she hates prom, she hates tattoos (this rant went on for several pages), she hates her neighbor, she hates old people, she hate her job... the book reads as someone trying so hard to be cool by hating on everything and everyone. It is really hard to believe that she actually runs a hotline to save women from predators because she hates other women so much.

All of her killings are so sloppy and unrealistic. She never thinks anything through, she doesn't account for cameras, she doesn't wear gloves, and she is always drunk. She discusses her father's drinking but doesn't really make the connection that she also an alcoholic. She is not likeable at all so I was really hoping she would just get caught in the end or die in the fire but no, she frames the brown man. My goodness. He was the only man kind to her in this whole book and he goes down for her crimes and she just gets to live with no consequences for her actions. It all wrapped up so quickly and neatly that is not realistic at all. I do not know if all of it was supposed to be satire and I just didn't get the joke but I just did not like it.

Thank you Netgalley for the ARC.
