Millie Masters is not your average serial killer. Her first victim is an accidental murder, trying to save a young girl from being attacked.

Millie runs a rescue hotline 'Message M' for women who feel unsafe on a night out, uncomfortable on a date, or whilst walking home etc - all of those scenarios familiar to us women.

She starts the hotline, wanting to save women from lecherous perverts like the man who attacked her younger sister Katie. She wants to bring that man to justice, but she doesn't know who he is. So she has to bide her time, and in the meantime help other girls and women in trouble.

When Millie is called to save a young woman who thinks she has been drugged, she is forced to break into the mans house to save the woman. In her struggle to make sure that the woman is safe, she attacks the man, leaving him for dead.

When its confirmed that he's dead, Millie is shocked, and then sort of pleased. I mean, it wasn't intentional, but she finds it kind of cathartic, and actually begins to wonder if what she has done is so very wrong.

If she hadn't acted, the woman would have been attacked, and she probably wouldn't have been the first, right?

What if Millie could rid the world of these disgusting men one by one?

And so it begins...

This is a brilliantly addictive read. Once you've started, you won't be able to put it down. It's a really fun novel, hilarious in places despite it's obvious dark undertone. Highly recommended.

I enjoyed this book, but I didn't love it. I wish I could give it 3.5 stars. It started off good and I was intrigued by the personality of the main character. However, I kept flipping back and forth between being bored and losing interest to then something happening, and I was sucked in again. I was also confused by the neighbor character and the events related to him. Although I found it kind of funny it didn't seem to add anything to the main story.

How To Kill A Guy In Ten Ways by Eve Kellman is described as a story of retribution and justice when systems of power won't step in. It's described as a story of girls helping girls and female rage and empowerment.

I absolutely loved the concept of the M hotline and almost wish that this was a real thing! The rest of Millie's story is twisted and funny in equal measure, and I really enjoyed the tone and pace throughout. In quite a packed market of female serial killer books at the moment, Eve Kellman really manages to stand out and shine with this book. Brilliant.

What a beautiful thriller rom com story with great storyline and great characters. Really liked the writing style and the cover is beautiful will definitely read more from this author.

I feel like this had so much potential but it just didn't live up to it. It just felt so chaotic, and the killing became gratuitous. I understood what the main character had gone through in the past but that didn't make me root for her, because I just found her unlikeable. More in depth look at her past, at her sister's story and focus on what the whole mission was supposed to be would have been so much better. The writing wasn't bad, it was an easy read, but I found it a slog to get through. I wasn't on Millie's side, and so I definitely wasn't happy with the ending.

What do you do when you can't protect someone you love? Millie is trying to help her sister after a sexual assault that has left her shattered. This book is definitely over-the-top, but at the same time, events seem to follow logically as Millie tries to protect women from going through the same thing. The first kill is really an accident...
It was shocking to watch as Millie acts on her feelings as she tries to find her sister's rapist. I was tense and got to a point where I couldn't put this book down. Even with the dark themes, there is also dark humor. I really enjoyed it.
Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read this

I really enjoyed this. This was written really well and handled the trauma and aftermath of SA very well. Millie was a great lead character even after going on an accidental killing spree and the way she helped other women was amazing. Highly recommend.

Thank you to NetGalley for giving me the arc of this book!
‘How to kill a guy in ten ways’ follows the lead (Millie) trying to make sense of the world while wanting to protect women who are preyed on by men.
The writing in this book gave me a completely different view point on psychological writing.
Millie attempts to track down the man who hurt her sister while operating a texting service called Message M, a safe place where scared woman can get help and out of a possibly dangerous situation. During this process Millie runs into complications, one after the other. However Millie meets this cute guy, who happens to be part of the police. Complicated gets a whole lot worse.
This books shows the length people go to in order to protect the ones they love, both family and friends.
I loved this book so much I bought a physical copy to have on my shelf.
⚠️Trigger warnings for this book - self harm, suicide ideation, murder.

How to Kill a Guy in Ten Ways is pretty self explanatory- I absolutely loved this book. Eve had me hooked from the start to the end. It was funny, cleverly written and very engaging.

After Millie’s sister is sexually assaulted on New Years Eve, Millie sets up a one woman vigilante to stop this to happening to other women. She doesn’t intend to kill but accidentally kills the first guy and realises the way forward is to eradicate all self absorbed self righteous guys. She also gets the idea she needs to do more and seeks revenge for her sister and find the man who turned her sisters life upside. Millie is completely out of her depth, she makes silly mistakes that could quite easily get her caught especially after she meets her dream man who also happens to be a police officer. Will she be caught or will Millie spiral?

The whole way through I had Dexter type vibes but the female version and I wanted to read more from her. I was rooting for Millie from the start.

A thrilling ride of murder, this book did not stop. I loved the main character, she was trying to do a good thing but also murder. It was such a great thriller with a comic add to it. Also a great ending! defiantly recommend this one!

This was a great easy read, despite some of the chapters being on the long side.
For me, you can't beat the Sweet Pea series, Rhiannon is the OG female serial killer, and the only one that has come close has been How To Kill Men And Get Away With It. This, however, is a strong contender. The first half of the book was a bit slower paced, and I felt it didn't quite match up to the blurb. You do have to suspend belief somewhat, as things felt a little too easy at times, but this isn't a book you have to take too seriously, so it works. The second half of this book though, is where it came alive, and it definitely got pretty tense towards the end.
With books like this, you can't help but root for the MC, and although Millie wasn't a particularly likeable character, you definitely wanted her to get the bad guy. I did feel sad for her in parts, especially when she describes her past. As much as she clearly didn't like people, you could tell she loved her sister and best friend Nina.
Well done to my reading buddy for putting two and two together and absolutely smashing four on the head with her theory, I was completely in the dark until the end!
If you have enjoyed books by C.J.Skuse, Katy Brent and Bella Mackie, then this one will be for you!

I could never hate a book about a woman serial unaliving men, but this one is probably my least favourite in the genre

even with all the interesting convo and the clear misandrist message, this book is weak. in writing, in storyline and in building. I get what was trying to be done, but the execution was not for my liking

and it’s a complex thing. I like it but also I don’t love it. it’s misandrist as well as feminist. it’s represents feminine rage in a messy way and I think I’m so not used to seeing that way, that I was taken aback

millie is an unlikable character but at the same time she is very relatable (and hilariously iconic). she was trying to play God and sometimes her chain of thoughts and actions ressemble the one a man serial unaliver would have. but who can blame her when there is so much justified rage in her

the last 30% were very exciting, so much happened, when from 35% to 70% was long and not that enticing (despite all the murders). I was not the biggest fan of the ending tho, I thought it was farfetched and the easy way out. the romance was also meh. but I’ll admit that what the book represents is brilliant, it took me a minute to understand it’s literally a transcript of a confession tape!

at the end, I think the book is very nuanced and it’s either you like it or hate it. I appreciate the clear misandrist take on the subject, but it definitely could have been conducted better!

Millie is broken. She has a dead end job at a frame shop, a mother who has never been there when she needed her, and a hell of a secret. When her sister is attacked while out with friends one night, Millie vows to keep other girls from experiencing the same fate. As her sister spirals into herself, Millie feels helpless and is desperate to help. What if she could do more? What if she could prevent these horrible men from ever hurting anyone again?

This is one of those books that you start out not terribly invested, but as the story develops and the characters grow on you, you find yourself all in. I am a stickler for not leaking spoilers in thrillers. The spoilers are half the fun. Therefore, I am hesitant to say too much about the details of this book. There are a lot of layers here that if disturbed, may spoil some of the great moments of the book. Here's what I will say: We all need a sister as devoted as Millie, but not quite as extreme. We all need a ride or die like Nina, but she scares me a bit. We all deserve to be loved by a James. We all need a Gina in our lives. And we all need to courage to tell Izzys and Angelas to shut up.

An enjoyable read, Kellman's narrative voice is very well-established, even for the wrong reasons. Despite knowing where the plot may lead, the strength of her writing made me read on and enjoy her novel regardless.

The main character, Millie, doesn't seem to like anyone. Even her best girlfriends. Admittedly she had a rough childhood but still. She has a job she doesn't really love and a side gig taking calls from women who need to get out of a situation, i.e. date gone bad, someone following them, etc. This side gig tends to feed her anger, which leads to deadly results.

2.5 stars I'm rounding up. This book was interesting but a bit of a struggle. Millie is a very unlikable character. She doesn't seem to like anyone - she has small quips and little judgements about every last person, even those she continues to call her friends. She doesn't seem to have a great life or much going for her. I did like her intense love for her sister but I was saddened that she didn't really do much for her -even when I felt like getting her help was just really obvious.

But the ending was break-neck. It started to spiral and get a bit more realistic. I liked the rush, each event so fast they were almost falling on top of each other. The ending brought it together for me and made me like it more.

A huge thank you to the author and publisher for providing an e-ARC via Netgalley. This does not affect my opinion regarding the book.

This had some tonal problems for me, it flip-flopped between satire about an increasingly-enjoying-the-violence young woman and a grittier trauma tale. I read it in one sitting, and it is very easy to read. As the story got darker, I thought there might be some deeper character exploration which never came and everyone except Millie is a blank slate BUT if you take it more as a straight up thriller it’s an engaging read.
