This book was a fun romcom. I loved the tropes that were in this book. It was a fast read and I did enjoy it. That being said I don't feel like there was anything special or that stuck out to me as I was reading it. Parts felt a little long. Liked it but didn't love it.

I have really enjoyed reading the Sweater Weather series over the past couple of weeks. Absolutely Not in Love is the third book I've read though it is the 7th in the series. I love that they are all set in the same season in the small town of Harvest Hollow, this book and the series overall gives of Stars Hollow vibes, I love all the quirky characters, the sense of community and the small-town feel.
Absolutely Not in Love is a sweet hockey romance, perfect for those who love Hallmark movies and are looking for a sweet fall read.
Gracie is a teacher and cellist who has sworn off hockey players since one broke her heart in high school and she has a hard time with the sport as she always felt her and her interests took a backseat to her brother who was ... you guessed it a hockey player. So imagine her surprise when her next-door neighbour ends up being none other than Felix, the star goalie for the local minor league team the Appies. Gracie has made her stance well known but after a minor disaster makes her apartment uninhabitable she is forced to reevaluate her opinion ... at least as far as Felix is concerned.
Felix is a through and through good buy, he will do anything for those he cares about as well as most others who find themselves in need. While he is a professional goalie he struggles with anxiety and prefers a quiet night at home to going out with the guys. He loves Ivy - his home library (complete with a sliding ladder) and more so he loves listening to the classical tones floating through the wall from the apartment next door.
This was a really enjoyable book, I loved seeing the relationship develop between Gracie and Felix, the fact that they both love classical music and this is what bonds them was so sweet. I did struggle to understand Gracie's disdain for hockey, realizing she felt neglected growing up with so much attention on her brother and then the situation with her HS boyfriend certainly would cause wounds but she is still firmly against anything to do with the sport.
Two things I really loved:
♥️ Felixs letter
♥️ The grand gesture

Thank you to Jenny Proctor Books for the book to review. All opinions are my own.
Gracie knows one thing for certain. She is NOT interested in dating a hockey player. Hockey drew her parent's attention away from her and her classical music ambitions, so she's written off the sport as a whole. But she has to admit, even though she definitely won't date him, her professional hockey player neighbor, Felix is quite nice to look at. And as Felix shows up more and more in her orbit, she realizes maybe he's not the man she stereotyped him to be...

Jenny Proctor scores a hat trick with this one! She nails the chemistry, character development, and entertainment value in this story. Her writing is seamless, so your reading experience is as well. I flew through this book and devoured all the depth she has packed into this rom com. Because these characters have adult conversations where they deal with their feelings and their hang ups, you get to enjoy so much more the pay off of their love story. Plus there are plenty of swoony flirty moments and kisses to keep you turning the page for more!

This is a closed door, kisses only romance.
There is a bonus scene available by joining the author's newsletter. Make sure and check that out!

I can't really rate this book because I did stop reading it like directly after the first chapter because I also have a brother who plays hockey and it annoys me when authors try and use something as small as that to judge an entire group of people. this is totally a personally thing, I just find that plot line really annoying. also this is apparently the seventh book in a series and even though it's just interconnected standalone you can kind of tell and it's really off-putting.

Hockey seems to be the in-thing in the book world at the moment and I am loving it.
Absolutely Not In Love sees hockey hating Gracie move next door to a hockey goalie - Felix who also happens to be her landlord.
After a water pipe bursts in her apartment Gracie gets much closer to Felix despite her misgivings about hockey.
This is a slow burn dual POV story that had me totally hooked. Well written and engaging and I can’t wait to read more in the series. If you love romcom, this one is for you!

I have mixed feelings about this story. I like that this wasn’t a smut-filled hockey romance because that’s what all of the hockey stories I have read have been. This story had an okay plot but not anything significant. Gracie had a bad relationship in high school and swore off hockey players afterward. She also has issues with feeling abandoned because her family chose her brother's budding hockey career over her classical music career. She came off as really boring. There wasn’t anything remarkable about her except she was the “nerdy” girl who gets with the handsome pro hockey player. Felix was underwhelming, too. He’s a secret nerd, which is his quirk and sets him apart from others. He’s overly helpful and has dad problems. The family issues they each have become a connection that brings them closer together. Felix was meh. He didn’t come across as original to me. I don’t know what I was expecting from this story, but I finished it feeling pretty okay about it. I’d say to those wanting to read it, read it. You may like it more than I did. There just wasn’t anything special at all to me for me to like it.

A hockey-hating cellist ultimately falls for her adorable neighbour, who just so happens to be the goalie of her local hockey team.
I really enjoyed this book. The characters were amazing. Felix is the dream boyfriend. Hot, a book nerd and a classical music fan, whilst also being kind, caring and super thoughtful. 10/10, no complaints.
The only thing that bothered me was the amount of times Gracie said she hated hockey players. I get that getting hurt by one when she was 17 may have put her off but to completely write off all hockey players because of one man seemed a bit dramatic to me.
Overall - 4.5⭐️

Absolutely Not in Love is the seventh and final instalment in the Sweater Weather series - a sweet fall romance series available on Kindle Unlimited.
In Absolutely Not in Love, we find Gracie - who swore she'd never again date a hockey player after a bad experience, and we get to revisit Felix - goalie of the Appies (minor league hockey team) and resident bibliophile. When some pipes burst in Gracie's apartment, and it only makes sense for her to move into her attractive neighbor (and landlord)'s apartment, she and Felix get to know each other better.
I loved seeing Gracie and Felix's relationship grow from quiet neighbors to really great friends, to more. I thought these two had incredible chemistry and loved their banter. I loved revisiting some of the characters from the previous novels in the series, and thought this book brought the whole series together better than any before it.
What you'll find in Absolutely Not in Love:
-forced proximity
-"will never date a hockey player"
-sports romance
-no steam (closed door) but plenty of chemistry
-fixing broken relationships
Absolutely Not in Love is a fantastic way to close out the Sweater Weather series on a high note, as I believe it to be the best one of the whole series. These can all be read as stand-alones, but you will find some characters and locations in Harvest Hollow popping in from other books.
Absolutely Not in Love is out now and available to download for free with Kindle Unlimited, also in paperback.

It was fun to read. Loved the characters too. Enjoyed till the end. Thanks to Netgalley for providing me a free e-book.

Gracie, a cello player, hates hockey. Maybe hate is a strong word, but after growing up forced to go to her brother's games, having hockey-obsessed parents, and being in a disastrous relationship with a hockey player, she wants nothing to do with the sport. Gracie's neighbor. Felix, is a hockey player, but he has hidden depths: he loves classical music, enjoys reading, and is actually an extremely sweet guy. When Gracie's apartment floods and she's forced to stay with Felix, she is forced to confront the idea that maybe there's more to Felix than she thought...and maybe there's more to their relationship.
I really enjoyed this book! It is definitely a closed-door book, so there is zero spice, but the characters were interesting, the plot was fun, and it was overall a sweet book. I'd never heard of the Sweater Weather series, and was quite intrigued by the idea that there is a series of books written by different authors that all take place in the same world. I'm going to check out some of the other books in this series because this one was so fun!

I want to extend my gratitude to JPC Publishing and Jenny Proctor for providing me with an E-ARC through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
Absolutely Not in Love is a heartwarming slow burn romance that's sure to captivate your heart. It certainly captured mine.
The story revolves around Felix, a professional hockey player with a love for classical music and a personal library that's the envy of any bookworm.
His next door neighbour, Gracie, a symphony cellist, has a strict policy against dating hockey players. But she quickly discovers that Felix is more than just a typical hockey player.
As the story progresses, we really start to see these two characters deep connection unfold. They share a common thread of never feeling quite "enough”. However, their mutual support and understanding bring out the best in each other. Their shared love for classical music and books becomes the bridge that connects their souls.
As someone who grapples with anxiety and self-doubt, I found Felix's journey particularly heartening. His struggles and insecurities, especially within the context of his relationship with Gracie, add an extra layer of relatability and emotional depth to the story.
In Absolutely Not in Love, you'll discover a touching romance that not only provides moments of pure joy but also addresses real life challenges with grace and sensitivity. If you're in search of a heartwarming love story featuring well developed characters and a dose of reality, this book deserves a top spot on your reading list.

Absolutely adorable. I am a huge sucker for hockey romance, and I love the sweater weather universe so this was the perfect combo.
Despite this being a sweet, guaranteed HEA romance, there was just enough conflict to keep your heart pumping.
I really really love hockey MMCs who have character depth. I did not connect much with the classical music components but I did appreciate that it was a non conventional way for the two characters to relate to each other.
The dialogue was super cute and fun, there was tension, humor, and we love when a guy tries real hard to win the girl.
I will definitely be reading more by this author.

This is my second try with this series, and I think it will be my last. "Absolutely Not in Love" has sweet moments and is an easy read, but it lacks substance and agency.
Gracie has no depth as a character, and her grudge is ridiculous. Her whole life is shaped around a six-month relationship during high school! There is nothing beyond her thinking about dating and being caught up in high school memories. She struck me as entirely bitter and pretentious.
Felix at least has more going on with his life, but I wasn't getting a sense of why he was attracted to Gracie other than her being pretty and playing the cello. Not a lot to go on.
Regarding their relationship, Gracie has a little growth and gains some self-awareness, but it's not all that impressive. Felix does the heavy lifting.
Thank you to NetGalley & the publisher for providing an eARC for review.

Thank you NetGalley for an Advanced Copy of the book. I'm leaving this review voluntarily.
5 stars!
I don't normally enjoy clean romances, but this book is just amazing! I flew through it and absolutely fell in love with Gracie and Felix. I mean, if you don't swoon over Felix, I'm not sure what would make you swoon.
"Turns out, self-awareness and humility, and a really good apology, are incredibly sexy."
There's something about being self aware. Something incredibly sexy. Knowing yourself well enough to understand the motivations behind what you do and why and able to work through how they help/hinder your life and actually listening to others and taking responsibility for your actions and being willing to change is just not as simple as it sounds and people who have put in the work (and continue to put in the work) are just rare and formidable. Couldn't help but root for these two.
I really want to go back and read the other books in the series now.

Gracie is absolutely, not interested in any sort of relationship with a hockey player. After a high school relationship gone wrong with a hockey player and her families obsession with the sport, she has banished the sport and players from her mind. No matter how attractive they may be.
But when she learns more about her handsome hockey player neighbor, she slowly starts to decide that maybe there is more than meets the yes to the guy next door.
After pipes in her apartment burst and destroy everything she owns, she runs next door to Felix - who she later finds out is her landlord. After she stays with him during the repairs to her own apartment, she finds out that they are more common than she was led to believe - sharing a love of classical music and books.
And with those similarities, Gracie decides that maybe the prospect of being worth the risk is worth more than the fear of him being a hockey player.

This is a super cute and sweet, slow-burn book about Gracie who is a cellist an Felix a professional hockey player and they start developing some feelings about each other. Slow-burn is one of my favorites tropes because it's so exciting to read how they start getting to know each other and how the relationship starts to develop. I like how they heal each other, and how sweet he is, I'm like I want one of those!. I want to read more about other characters that appear on this book like Summer and I would of liked that they talk with Felix's father. I also love the bonus escenes OMG so exciting!!

Gracie and Felix are the cutest couple ever!!! I've been looking forward to reading this one ever since we got to meet them in the first book of this super fun Sweater Weather series! (All the books are written by different authors and can be read as standalones)! And let me tell you that all of my expectations were met and more! So stinkin' cute and swoony!!!
Be still my heart! If you are the type of reader who collects book boyfriends, then you need to add this book to your reading list because Felix is amazing!!!
Gracie has great spunk and the sweetest heart. She needs someone to hold it carefully and securely and stand by her side through it all! And not be a hockey player! Which of course crosses Felix off the list! Hahaha! But don't worry, he is just his wonderful self and keeps being there for Gracie and she soon sees his true colors!
So many great scenes in this book. All the bookish talk, reading on the sofa together, the water issue, the meals, the concert, the music talk, the big hockey game...ALL OF IT!!!! Seriously adorable! Definitely a reread for me and one I highly recommend to anyone looking for a great read!
Content: Clean. Some kissing/making out but nothing graphic or further than kisses.
I received a copy from the publisher, JPC Publishing, via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions in the review are my own.
Happy Reading!!!

This one is my favorite of the Sweater Weather series!
Flix is a goalie, and his neighbor hates hockey. But Gracie falls for him when she leans to know him. They have a lot in commun. And Felix is more than just a hockey player.
Felix is adorable and you cannot not fall for him! He loves book and music just like Gracie. I loved their flirting and communication.
Definitly a cozy must read for Fall!

I would like to thank Netgalley and the author, Jenny Proctor, for allowing me to read this book in exchange for an honest review. I would like to start by saying this was a hilarious and loving book, and I definitely recommend it to anyone who's looking for a sweet rom-com with no spice. At the very beginning, I was going to rate this book 1-2 stars as I didn't like how early on the main characters lives were intertwined and how close they got in a very short amount of time. But the characters themselves make up for that, and because this is a very short read, it's not a big deal. Overall, I rate this a 3.75.

This book is a captivating journey through the depths of imagination. Its rich storytelling and well-developed characters kept me engaged from start to finish. With its thought-provoking themes, it transcends genres and offers something for every reader. A must-read for anyone seeking a literary adventure.
