This book was 100% not for me. The biggest thing this book could have benefited from was a more detailed synopsis. Going in relatively blind and a tagline like "even Dr. Phil can't fix this." I expected a bit of family drama with tension and set in a hostile environment, but you get a lot more than just that.

The twist that we get in this short episode is so out of left field that I wish we could have at least gotten a few pages of build-up of who these characters were. We jump into the action immediately and don't know anything about anyone. That is okay but we never gain any information in the story that lets the reader understand the characters. I know this is a continuation so there may be some backpedaling on the family's storyline but it all felt so random.

Overall, I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone.

A great beginning to a new series. Marty Martin takes us on a wild chase as he works to figure out exactly what happened.
