This is an anthology of largely unrelated poems. The final in this collection was both the longest and my favourite, as it related to Poe's infamous 'The Raven'. In this case, and throughout the entirety of the contents before, the poet showed an incredible wit and intelligence, as well as impeccable penmanship.

My issues arose from the lack of theming throughout. I prefer my anthologies to follow a loose vibe at least but none appeared here leaving something heartfelt to be paired before or after something humorous and this didn't work well for me, personally.

The poem titled 'Ridiculously Simple Instructions for Brewing Ale' informed the reader on how to do exactly that, which was a personally tedious read. I also found one poem in particular to be a little distasteful and it soured the experience of the remainder of the anthology, although I'm sure it was not the poet's intent. 'A Low-Budget Poem' cited the average American household debt crises alongside the toys bought and meals out, paid for on credit cards. Whilst I'm sure this may be the case for some, the cost of living crises and skyrocketing household bills and grocery prices surely have a larger part to play in most cases of financial suffering and 'willpower' will not save them from this. If only abstaining from impulsive purchases would make everyone financially stable!

On to better things... 'You're the One With a Dirty Mind' was a hilarious read and really showcased everything I adored about this author's cheeky style. It worked so well with this tongue-in-cheek inclusion and is definitely a poem I will long remember, along with the title poem.

Well this was an odd collection of poetry. I've never beenuch of a poetry lover, with Poe's The Raven being one of the few exceptions.
So the title of this book caught my attention and I thought it would be a humorous take on the classic.
Well it was humorous, I'll give it that. And while.ome or two of the poems made me smile or nod in recognition this really wasn't my cup of tea. No reflection on the author, just not toy taste.
Thanks to @netgallet for the opportunity to read this earcs in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion.
