While I ultimately found this story entertaining and fun, Will was a hard character to like. He's secretive, selfish, and entirely too wrapped up in his family's opinion. By the time he redeemed himself in the end, I was actually pitying Berkley for taking him back. The reality show spin in the story was fun and the way the chapters jumped past to present kept me guessing what would happen next. The secondary characters in this book were the ones that really caught my interest and kept me reading. Overall a good childhood sweethearts, second chance romance.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
To say I loved this book really would be an understatement!. The characters were brilliantly brought to life, with a truly captivating story throughout. A must read!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for granting me free access to the advanced digital copy of this book.
This was a wonderful book and I'll be purchasing it for the library!
There were parts of this I adored but the first 60% is cringey. I struggle with second chance romance in general, and throw in this party boy “forget you” attitude.. it just made me want to cheer against Will. BUT I thought the author touched on these points and didn’t have the fmc roll over and just take him back. He was adorable in his pursuit of her. I also enjoyed their revenge on his parents, but I wish it wasn’t such an abrupt ending to that plot point. I walked away from this book feeling the focus was on the reality tv drama, so of that’s fun for you- you’ll love this one!

I do love an Aimee Brown book, this was no exception and had me glued to my kindle , I have to admit I was a bit unsure at the start with this one, I loved Berkeley, but it took time for Will to grow on me, I found him immature and quite childish to start with, but I like the fact that Aimee made me like him as I watched his growth and development.
Berkeley I really loved, she was strong, feisty, and independent, I will probably say that she let Will get away with far too much, but then they wouldn’t be a story if she didn’t. But I loved the focus with this book how love changes people. Both Berkeley and Will go on a journey for their love of one another. Yes they face difficulties, trials and hard decisions, but a good relationship is built on the tests others fail.
I love the fact that Aimee, even , anxiety, drama, she still insures that there is plenty of humour, which keeps you entertained and laughing. I recommend this book and Aimee’s books from a thoroughly entertaining and enjoyable read.

This is a really good heart-warming read if you just want a good sit back and read time. Its a great, witty and lovely story about finding love and holding on to those who make you feel good and letting go of the people who dont. Its a great story with an even greater message of loving yourself and all the people who make you smile.
Will (rich, not nice family) and Berkeley (sweet, not rich) are first loves.
This was a fun, easy read with lots of crazy low stakes problems due to a reality show and an unwelcoming family. They break up, but are still in love, and they find a way back to each other. Quite a sweet story.
Thanks to NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review.
This book was flawless, and I will be taking no criticism! I can always tell when I fall in love with a book, I get the urge to never put it down, and I just get literal joy from reading it start to finish. This book was that for me, I struggled to put it down even at 2AM when I worked the next day at 7AM. The depth that Aimee gives her characters is amazing, not to mention the snark that she brought to Berkley was entirely relatable. I LOVE that the books are set in Portland, OR also because that's where I live and I feel like she has a way of bringing the city alive to some extent in the books, but also I enjoy the references and knowing the characters are walking the same streets that I've walked and been to places I've been to, essentially, since some of the places are made up and not real. I enjoyed every aspect of this book from the romance, the humor, and the dealing with real world problems such as communication, Alcoholism, and becoming your own entity with autonomy aside from your parents.
I really struggle with his book. It was the connection to the characters. One of my favourite tropes is a second chance romance so I had high hopes for this one. Unfortunately it fell flat for me.
I loved this! It was steamy, it was funny, it had me completely absorbed and emotionally vested! I loved this. A great book and I absolutely loved it.

Amazing book!
I was thoroughly engaged throughout this book and I didn't want to put it down! The author captured my attention from the get go! Five stars from me :)
This book had me hooked since the premise of the story, and once i read it, felt like a let down a bit not because it was bad but because i had such big expectations. what i take out of this book is how trust is the base of a good relationship.
I've enjoyed the Aimee Brown books I've read previously which is why I snagged this one. The premise behind Can't Take My Eyes Off You was original and relevant in our society today. With America's fascination with reality shows and the rich and famous, it was easy to believe that a show like this could be a thing.
Will and Berkley have been in love for years. They met in high school when they were fifteen and have been together ever since. But Will's a trust fund kid and his family thinks he's better than Berkley and they take every opportunity to tell him so. In actuality, Will's family is horrible and definitely don't have his best interests at heart. As part of their "bad behavior," Will's family - - including his older brother, pressure him to join the new reality show, PDX Royals. Joining onto this reality lifestyle goes against the life plan Will and Berkley had .....and he didn't discuss it with her first. All of this leads to some major drama in their relationship.
Will and Berkley's relationship is broken by his seemingly callous disregard for her feelings. Can they find their way back together? Or will Will's venture into reality tv stardom destroy their relationship entirely?
I was hooked on this book from the beginning. It was like a train wreck where I simply couldn't look away and had to know the outcome. Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC.
From the start I was hooked! Berkley, I loved as a character and the strong group of friends around her along with her sister. I was not a fan of Will's family (can't lie that did not change throughout the book) but does Will stand up against his family? If you are a fan of reality shows then this book is right up your street.
Can't Take My Eyes Off You by Aimee Brown
Berkley Kaine, in love with Will Adler, is about to graduate college and pursue her dream job. However, his wealthy family, which believes she's not good enough, is determined to drive them apart. Will's family reveals he's signed on to a reality TV show called PDX Royals, where money is all it takes to be 'royalty' in America. The couple must decide if Berkley can forgive Will for lying and if they can survive the pressure of Will's family, bad decisions, and a TV show that blows up.
Berkley and Will were so good together, but they were still hurting each other with thoughtless choices. Will was stupid with all the decisions he took, which was kind of a red flag, if I can be honest, though he showed good development by working on himself. The Adler family was really a piece of work. They were snobby and greedy, with a typical "we are rich and deserve everything that has class and power" attitude.
Berkley was strong and smart, with a kick-ass attitude. I was cheering for her. The supporting characters were good, and I loved both of their friends, though.
The author did a great job with all the back and forth and the journey from breakup to make-up. It felt kind of repetitive in between; however, the second half of the book was amazing. The articles included were a plus, as they gave insight into the happenings of the reality show. It was messy, sad, and beautiful.
If you enjoy themes like those below, then this book is for you.
- miscommunication
- second chance romance
- high school sweethearts
- reality shows
"Can't Take My Eyes Off You" by Aimee Brown follows the story of Berkley and Will, high school sweethearts whose relationship is tested when Will joins a reality TV show without telling Berkley. As the show airs, Will's behavior becomes increasingly erratic, straining their relationship further. Berkley, a strong and independent woman, must decide if she's willing to forgive Will and move forward with him, while Will struggles to prove his genuine love for her amidst family pressures and his own mistakes. The story is filled with engaging characters, including the despicable Adler family and Berkley's supportive friends and family. Despite the challenges they face, Berkley and Will's love and determination shine through, making for a captivating and heartfelt read.
This was my first book by this author. The writing was good, the story flowed and I was invested.
I felt like this book was a little young for me. I don't believe I was the target audience. But it was good and enjoyable. The villians in this book might be the worst ones I've every read about. I enjoyed the twist at the end, KARMA was all over this book. I loved it.
I love Aimees writing. I have read nearly everyone of her books so far and have loved them all so it pains me to say this one just didnt do it for me. Maybe it just wasnt the story for me. I will still try anything Aimee writes as I really do love her books.
This was an enjoyable and gripping read. Will and Berkeley have been together since they were teenagers and are very much in love. However, he derails their plans when he signs up to a reality tv show and they have to pause their relationship. This is funny but also deals with quite intense family drama. It’s very readable and I was curious to see how it all worked out, but it wasn’t as swoony as Aimee Brown’s other romances!
What to expect:
- school sweethearts
- Schitt’s Creek vibes
- it’s always been you
- second chance romance
I have read another book by Aimee Brown and really enjoyed it, however this book is not my cup of tea. Can't Take My Eyes Off You is about a couple that come from two very different worlds. I enjoyed the premise of the book but I didn't really like any of the characters or their actions. While this may be a 5 star book to most, to me it fell flat. I do look forward to reading more books by Aimee Brown as she has a real talent for words.
