Ladies, if a man EVER does to you what Will did to Berkeley at the beginning of this book, dump his ass. I was so furious with him and his idiocy I had to DNF, especially when I saw that the book doesn’t jump ahead several years to when filming is done and his contract is over. Lying to the supposed love of your life, who you have been with for 7 years, and saying you did it for the MONEY?! I’m heated, and not in a good way..
In Can't Take My Eyes Off You by Aimee Brown, we follow the story of Berkley and Will. They have been together since they were school sweethearts, but everything changes when Will signs up for a reality TV show called PDX Royals without telling Berkley. This secret causes chaos in their relationship and ultimately leads to their breakup.
Personally, I wasn't a fan of Will. I thought he was immature, and despite his eventual growth and standing up for himself, it wasn't enough to make me like him. Berkley and Will's relationship was toxic, and I couldn't help but feel bad for Berkley, but she loved him, so there was nothing I could do about it.
Despite my dislike of Will, the storyline was enough to keep me glued to my Kindle. The second characters helped a lot, as they were funny and added more interest to the main story.
If you enjoy reality shows and all the drama that comes with it, then I think this book will be perfect for you.
Thank you to NetGalley for the Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I always hope I will like a book I’m reviewing but this one just isn’t for me. I found all of the characters, including the “good” characters to be very one dimensional and unlikable. And the story seemed unnecessary. They ultimately ended up exactly where they would have been if none of it had happened.
I’m sure there’s an audience for this book, but I’m not it
Thank you to Boldwood Books and NetGalley for the ARC of this one in exchange for an honest review.
This book unfortunately was not for me.
I do like the cover, and i could see where the author was going with this story, but it feels like it was not quite there, The entire thing was based around high school sweethearts one of which who is a trust fund baby participating in a reality show. I just did not enjoy the premise at all and felt that it was for a younger audience that myself.
I couldn't bring myself to continue reading this book. I'm grateful for receiving a copy but I just couldn't see the story improving, or the characters. While yes, Will's family are rude and ridiculous in their snobby behaviours; Berkley acted like a petulant child throwing a temper tantrum and you could barely blame the parents for disliking her with the way she spoke to them.
I would firstly just like to say a big thank you to Rachel’s Random Resources who very kindly forwarded me an arc copy of this book, for my kindle, in return for my honest review.
I loved the sound of this book when i first read the blurb as it sounded a bit different from any thing that i had read before.
It was such an easy book to read and as i turned the pages i just had to keep reading more and more so that i could find out what was happening next!
Berkley and Will were wonderful characters and i really enjoyed getting to know them and see how their story unfolded.
They both had fun lives, even if they were a little bit complicated and this book also made me laugh quite a lot and feel all the other feelings in between too…….
I have read such good books by Aimee Brown and I have fallen in love with her characters but with this book was no the case for me
.
I couldn't get hooked on the characters and their dilemmas, the story kept me turning pages one after the other and I read it in almost twenty-four hours, I was dying to know what was going to happen, how it was going to end. But I spent a lot pages of the book saying, "Is this real?" "He said that?", "She's not going to do it, is she?"
.
And still…I kept reading until the end, I couldn’t stop
.
Will and Berkley have been high school sweethearts and now that Berkley has graduated, she is ready to start her life with Will in the apartment they remodeled together.
.
But at a family dinner she finds out that Will and his brother signed a contract to be part of a reality show that shows young people with trust funds living a life of luxury and partying, and she is not part of the deal
.
From that moment on, Will tries to do everything possible to continue with the program and not lose Berkley in the attempt but he is really a mess and have some alcohol issues
.
Almost in a kind of young Kardashians in Oregon mode until incredible plot twists one after another that change the focus a little, but the expected ending arrives and is a super well deserved one
.
Thanks to Aimee Brown and Boldwood Books for give me a copy of this book in exchange for my honest and voluntary opinion

Berkley & Will have been together for 7 years, since they were 15. A tinsey lie to him, but a big lie to her put a damper on all the future plans they made.
The first half of the book Will is a hot mess. It dives deep into how making a wrong decision leads one down the path of alcoholism. Eventually he gets his act together and stands up for himself, but is it too little too late in Berkley's eyes? It was just about too late for me.
Thank goodness Berkley had a good set of friends and a twin sister to keep her sane with everything that Will put her through. There was a side budding romance that I liked and I wouldn't be surprised if they get their own book.
I liked the articles about what was happening with the reality show and the time jumps, so that the story didn't feel too long. But everyone on the show was an awful person. They're conceited, rude and care way too much about money. There are some Kardashian name drops if that tells you anything.
Quite possibly Will's family is the worst I have ever read about. I mean wow, talk about entitled, snobby tools and I'm glad they got exactly what they deserved.
Overall, this was good as a second chance romance. The ending was fast, or maybe not based on all the time they were together and then apart.
I received an E-ARC with a request for my honest review.
This romantic comedy follows Berkley, and her partner Will who have been in love since they were young, even though his family doesn’t approve.
When Berkley discovers Will has signed up to be part of a new reality TV series, she wonders where this leaves their relationship. Berkley doesn’t want to be part of the show, so they decide to put their relationship on hold until the show is finished.
Berkely must decide if she can forgive Will for lying to her, and whether their love is true.
What will happen during the show? Will Berkely and Will come back together?
This romantic comedy is a nice read even though it has heart-breaking moments too, and times where it is hard to read with how Will handles being apart from Berkley.
It was nice to see that Berkley stood up for herself and made her points clear to Will, even in the hard situations she finds themselves.
There are plenty of comedy moments too, especially when Berkley is dealing with Will’s family.
Overall, a lovely romantic comedy, where a reality TV series could get in the way of true love.
Will and Berkley are in love. There's just one problem. Will's rich family signed him up for a reality show that Berkley wants no part of.
This was classic Aimee Brown! Will and Berkley had a unique conflict in this book. What happens when the person you are in love with puts their life on display for the world to see (and worship). This book covers years and it is sad to see Berkley and Will struggle with not only their relationship but their personal lives as well. Get the tissues out! You'll need it for this one!
My favorite part was the humor in this. At times sarcastic and at times poignant, the humor kept me laughing the entire time. I really enjoyed these characters and was anxious to see them happy!
All in all, this was a unique romcom that I enjoyed!
Thank you to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the gifted copy. My reviews are always honest.
Thanks to the Publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy’.
I enjoyed reading the story Will and Berkley, who have been together since high school
Will’s family is rich and have their views on matters that are different to Berkeley’s. The secret that Will was keeping from her is out when she’ learns that he and his brother are going to join a reality show.
So, now, will they both stay together or break up?
I recommend this book.
The journey Will and Berkley takes the reader is one full of ups and downs and very emotional. I honestly kept thinking how are they going to end up in a HEA, my anxiety was very high just thinking about Will and Berkley’s relationship. I was invested.
This book was alright but it was just too far fetched for me to really enjoy. I enjoyed the setting of the book store and the side characters of their friends. It was hard for me to get on board with how quickly she jumped back into the relationship and I felt like the ending was rushed. I also struggled to believe the quick attitude change of his brother at the end.
First loves and high school sweethearts Berkeley Kaine and Will Adler have been together since they were 15 years old. The plan is for them to stay together forever, or so they thought. Berkeley is about to graduate college with honors and move in with Will into an apartment that they remodeled together and hopefully one day buy the bookstore that she works at. But life as other plans for them.
The Adlers are Uber-rich and have never been fans of Berkeley but that never stopped their love. Unfortunately, Will decides to join a reality TV show after Berkeley graduates without consulting with her first. She is heartbroken and has no wish to be in the spotlight with him and they break up.
Can young first love win in the end? Told from a dual point of view, you will have to read this emotional roller coaster to find out!

I didn't really like this book, but you might like it
For Will and Berkley, the it's always been you trope feels a little inadequate. We meet the high school sweethearts just as they're about to graduate college with their whole lives planned out. Little problem, Will hadn't yet told Berkley he had signed up for a reality TV show, PDX Royals. Cue 'we're on a break' and the emotional roller coaster for the both of them as his family doesn't approve and she's not interested in being in the show (though does make minimal appearances) and audiences start shipping them with other people. But either way, the FMC and MMC are drawn to each other, no matter how much of a dumpster fire their lives (his life) is turning out.
If you love the reality show set (real housewives, Kardashians) this books is totally for you! The TV show aspect made it a little too dramatic for me but when Will started getting his ish together and that grand gesture at the end. 🥰🫠🥰 it was too perfect!
Thank you Netgalley and Boldwood Books for the ARC in exchange for my review!
I loved all the creative insults that Aimee has come up with! They all made me giggle. But I didn't love the epilogue. It was too short and didn't really do the story justice!
Out of the 4 books I've read from Aimee Brown, this would have to be my favourite!! This second chance romance was full of ups and downs, great characters and fantastic insults!! Make sure you set aside a whole day, as once you start reading you won't want to stop!!
Can’t Take My Eyes Off You was a fairly interesting and overall cute story. The Adler family, specifically Jacob and Melinda, were insufferable. They were a bit of a cliché, being the rich ponzi scheming millionaires who landed themselves in the slammer, but the rest of the characters were interesting, which kept me turning the pages. There were enough funny moments to classify it as a rom-com with enough drama, of course.
This book had me rewatching 1999’s 10 Things I Hate About You, which I have no doubt is the inspiration for the title. The one thing holding me back from fully enjoying this book was stumbling across a few grammatical errors and typos. I don’t claim to be an expert on either, and I don’t normally read books in British English, but the single quotation marks for dialogue took me some time to get used to.
Berkley and Will break up when he joins a reality show about rich kids living together. They have been together since they were kids, but Berkley isn’t a part of his world. These two can’t seem to stay away from one another as time passes, but they also can’t make it work either. What will happen to them in the end?
I was obsessed with Berkley and Will! They obviously loved each other, but they both needed to grow up. Will’s family was so toxic and he needed to stand on his own in order to be who Berkley needed. But it seemed like it was never going to happen and I think she had to learn to accept that and she really did try.
This author always hooks me with the emotions and character struggles. That is why I keep coming back.
Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood for this ARC! All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Are you ready for a love story that will take you on a wild, wild ride????
That’s what you will get reading Can’t Take My Eyes Off You……
Lots of forgiving, craziness, bad decisions and surviving going on within the story.
Will true love conquer all that is thrown at the main characters?
Thank you NetGalley, Boldwood Books and Aimee Brown for the opportunity to read this book for my honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.
