This story is an adorable holiday read! I enjoyed reading it when the weather was cold, but it would also be a fun Christmas in July story to pick up and read.
This was an adorable Christmas Beauty and the Beast retelling. It captured the tropes of Beauty and the Beast in a fun and interesting way that I wouldn't have thought of doing, and I appreciated the originality.
Ciara Knight's books are easy to read, fun, and leave you wanting more of the story. I will, however, say that making the MMC named Ramen was a bold take that I couldn't stop laughing at and it did distract me just a wee bit.
3.5 stars.
Thanks, NetGalley, for the opportunity to have read this book.
Once Upon a Christmas Legend is a sweet tale much in the likes of Hallmark movies. Audrey goes in search of a fable and ends up in close proximity with Ramen who's shunned for his scars. Together they go in search of solving the mystery while learning to open up and be honest with who they are and what they're looking for.
This Christmas romance was a quick and easy read. There was honestly nothing outstanding about the plot, just a simple, sweet Beauty and the Beast retelling. One thing I wish was that there be more depth to their budding relationship. I feel like a lot more could be delved into given their time together.
As written at the beginning of the review, I take this tale like a Hallmark movie. So don't expect it to be a life-changing novel, just enjoy a quick getaway.
Once Upon a Christmas Legend by Ciara Knight is a good fit for romantics who enjoy heartwarming holiday tales about perseverance, self-discovery, and the power of love to heal.
Amazing book!
I was thoroughly engaged throughout this book and I didn't want to put it down! The author captured my attention from the get go! Five stars from me :)
This is an amazing holiday romance! I could not get enough of it. I absolutely loved this book this was the best story line I've read in a holiday romance in awhile. 5 star read. This is a must read!

This novella is a Beauty and the Beast retelling set in a small mountain town at Christmas. Audrey has been searching for the book with almost the same title as this novella, whose legend says it brings you true love by Christmas. She's tracked it to the small town of Cherry Creek, where she's pointed in the direction of Ramen Johnson, a former TV star who's retreated into a solitary life after an accident left him badly scarred, and he agrees to help her look for the book, if for no other reason than to get her off his farm.
I can never say this enough but I love Ciara Knight!! Her books are so good and easy to read. This was a nice take on Beauty and the Beast. I love that movie so this was extra enjoyable for me. This was a really fun holiday read and I would definitely recommend this book.
This is a super cute novella that won't take you long to read, and it's a love story set at Christmas
Another Hallmark-style story. A somewhat cheezy read but fun for a long winter night with a little romance.
it is a charming love story, with forced proximity, lots of humor and good chemistry. Perfect holiday vibes. I really enjoyed this one!
Beauty and the Beast is my all time favorite fairy tale so I was very excited about reading Once Upon a Christmas Legend. I thought the book did justice to the fairy tale. I really enjoyed it!
I enjoyed reading this book! Both of the characters POV were easy to understand and I fell in love with them since the very beginning. It was a good ending... but I would have loved to know if they attended that dreadful wedding. It probably makes no sense, but I think that would give her a real closure. It will also help him to attend a public event, specially if he wants to make the rumors about his comeback true.
Please, keep writting like this. I would love to read more from you!
Enjoy this clever updating of Beauty and the Beast! Audrey is crushed to discover her fiancé with her best friend. Make that her ex-fiancé and ex-best friend. She decides to search for a book, which legend says will help one find their true love. Meanwhile, Ramen has scars from his tangle with a legendary wild animal attack. He lives in isolation, knowing the ugliness of his scars. You will enjoy how the two discover the best in each other and how they make that journey!
I enjoyed this short book, compliments of the publishers. The thoughts expressed are my own.
Once Upon a Christmas Legend is a romance novel written by Ciara Knight. It is a part of the Once Upon a Christmas Kiss series, but you do not need to read any of the other books in order to read this one.
Summary: Audrey Blythe’s love life is looking pretty bleak. Desperate to find her true love, she searches for a legendary book that is said to unite you with your perfect match.
But will a grumpy hermit, a wicked snowstorm, and a mysterious set of clues stand in her way of finding happily-ever-after?
Only time will tell.
Thoughts: I didn’t love this one. The premise of possessing a special book being a way to find true love seemed silly. And, the constant obstacles seemed pretty far-fetched as well.
If you are looking for an easy, light romance, and you don’t mind so much about a realistic plot, you might enjoy this book, but I needed it to be a little more believable. This one just wasn’t for me.
I would like to thank Author Collective 20 for providing me with a free digital copy of this book in exchange for my review. Thank you.
This was a charming Beauty and the Beast retelling, perfect for the holiday season. Audrey is a collector of rare books and is willing to search far and wide for them. One book she particularly has her heart set on is Once Upon a Christmas Kiss, whose legend is said to bring true love by Christmas. Audrey is determined to heal her broken heart and to find that book and her search leads her to a small town in Cherry Creek, right to Ramen's door. Ramen is a former TV star who has been living a life of solitude after an accident left him badly scarred and he is pulled in to her quest to find this elusive book. Together, they set out to find the legendary book and along the way, Audrey helps Ramen come out of his shell, and they both start on the path to healing their individual scars and moving forward together.
A delightfully charming, clean holiday read that was a touching and heartwarming variation of a classic tale. It is a quick read and a cozy story to settle down with alongside a nice cup of cocoa, or what ever warm drink you prefer. A feel-good story that I am glad to have had the opportunity to read!
Thank you to Netgalley for providing a complimentary copy. This is my honest and voluntary review.
This is such a cute Christmas story! The plot was phenomenal and the characters were relatable! I really enjoyed reading this book!
This is A Beauty and The Beast Sweet Small Town Holiday Romance. The characters are sweet and so easy to fall for. The storyline is beautiful and I truly enjoyed seeing the growth between the characters. Thank you NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read this story.
Audrey works for book collectors and is now on the hunt for a book starring in a legend. And for once, she's searching the book for herself. Because, according to the legend, the person who has the book on Christmas, is destined to find the love of their life. Just what Audrey needs.
I'm a big fan of the premise of the story, however, the story and mainly the way it's written didn't really resonate with me. I had trouble to focus on what's happening at the times and I was overwhelmed by the amount of characters introduced in the first couple of chapters.
For me, it wasn't the easy read I expected it to be.
Thank you, NetGalley and the author for a copy of the book to review.
Beauty and the Beast meets rom-com holiday fun in Once Upon a Christmas Legend.
While the idea of a book bringing your 'soul mate' to you seems a bit far-fetched, I enjoyed the story overall. Plenty of obstacles for Audrey and Ramen to overcome before they realize they not only like each other, but are better together.
This is a super cute Christmas take on an inspired beauty and the beast retelling. There is no spice which I think is totally appropriate and allows for a really good retelling of the story. I think it would have been better as a dual point of view but that is just a personal opinion. Overall a cute and easy Christmas read. My first read by Ciara Knight but definitely not my last.
Once again Knight knocks it out of the park with this one! I loved this book. Fast paced and fun. I love love love this couple and I felt like I knew them personally! Great fun read to curl up on a cold day!
