This book is a sweet holiday romance filled with charm and Christmasy feelings. It's a perfect book for this time of year.

Unfortunately, I was bored for most of the book, it was cute yes, but boring.

This novel was a little slow for me, and I had a hard time getting into it. I did enjoy the setting and premise, but I just didn't connect with it as much as I'd hoped.

A lovely festive Christmas romance, a very heartwarming read set in a lovely country manor setting. It will warm your heart and leave you feeling lovely and festive.

I am a sucker for holiday themed books, especially Christmas! I thought this book was very well written and I loved the story.

If Hallmark movies decided to write a book. Very fluffy and very cute. A nice easy read, even if we're almost a month post Christmas, you can still enjoy some of the festive season to get over the January blues.

I really liked everyone in the Lord family but unfortunatley didn't have enough to draw me into the heroine and push for them to get together. The character development on her while plenty of time spent on her wasn't enough for me to think that I wanted the couple to be together...

Christmas with the Lords is a warm Christmas story about an eclectic family and their new nanny. Penny connecting with the family, creating her own life and future is what really brings it together. I did enjoy the writing and the characters, but I felt a bit lost at times.

I feel like it was my mistake to read this a little later than expected. I feel like this would’ve been the feel-good book for the beginning to mid December time. Prime time holidays. It was just a little slow for me. I found myself wanting to find more Lando moments which weren’t as much as I hoped. It was still cute, but the pacing was a bit too slow for me. I kept hoping for more. I appreciate it very much that I was able to get this arc from NetGalley!

This book was a little difficult to get into not gonna lie. Penny gets dumped by her bf so she quits her job as a teacher and decides to nanny two little kids for a very wealthy family over the holidays break. I just found the characters to be a bit odd and idk couldn't really connect with them. It's got the grumpy/ sunshine and small town vibes but it was eh, not bad not great.

Christmas with the Lords is the debut novel from Hannah Langdon. It’s a cosy festive romance which is an easy read, perfect for fans of a cheesy Christmas Hallmark movie.
Penny was a lovely protagonist and it’s nice to have a 30-something FMC in a festive romance. She was wonderful with the children she was nannying for and I loved their relationships. It was also great to see Penny really grow in self-confidence as the novel progressed and start to see her own worth again.
I loved the Lord family and the chaotic energy they brought to the book. It was lovely to see Penny find a family in the Lords as the novel progressed. Exploring all of their family Christmas traditions made the book feel really cosy and festive, perfect for getting you in the mood for the holiday season. The beautiful setting of their gorgeous historic home and quaint small-village was also perfect for a cosy festive story; it sounds like an absolutely dreamy place to spend Christmas!
At the heart of the story is a grumpy x sunshine romance between the cheerful Penny and the grumpy Lando. Fans of a true slow burn romance will love this book as you are left waiting for most of the story for them to sort themselves out and actually get together. However, the one thing that dropped the book from a 4* to a 3* for me was the fact that I was really craving a few more romantic scenes between Penny and Lando once they had got together. Although the scenes we did get were lovely, there was just too few of them to fully satisfy me after such a slow burn romance story.
If you’re looking for a cosy Christmas story with a slow-burn romance and lots of festive family antics, you’ll love Christmas with the Lords. I’m definitely also excited to see what comes next from Hannah Langdon.

Looking for a book that makes you feel like you are staring at well-lit Christmas tree, wrapped in a cozy blanket, with a fire roaring? Then this is the book for you!

From the first chapter, I was transported to the idyllic Dorset countryside with Penny Windlesham (lead) who embarks on an adventure as a nanny for the crazy-but-endearing Lord family. There is mischievous children, Christmas cheer, and a cozy romance. Its basically like stepping into a Hallmark rom-com.

It was a short read, heavy on Christmas cheer, and I would recommend if you are trying to get into the season. While I loved the book for what it was (a holiday rom-com) it felt a bit formulaic. Then again, aren't all the best Holiday rom-com movies that way?

I found this book very enjoyable! The characters were very interesting and I rooted for them throughout. Although set at Christmas, I think it could be suitable for year-round reading and would recommend it to anyone looking for a sweet story of love and family.

Loved this romance , main character in an age group more relatable to me and her coming self awareness all had me wrapped up in this Christmas story. All the characters were fun and just wanted to read more.

I saved this book for Christmas break and I am so glad that I did! I curled up with a blanket and read this and it was the best decision I made! It was funny, cozy, and romantic which was perfection for Christmas!

Here for the fluff. If you know me, I'm a sucker for Holiday romances, so what I got approved for this one I couldnèt healp but get excited. The plot follows Penny after her boyfriend breaks up with her quite suddenly, as she looks for some spark in her life, she agrees to nanny for the Lord family over the holiday season, although a little unsure what to expect. I loved the chaos that the Lord family brought, it was heartwarming to see a family come together around the holidays and show how not perfect a family can be!

The romance was little meh for me, we only do get to see a full glimpse of it around the tail-end of the book and overall it wasn't surprising. The romance plot had been hinted throughout the plot "Oh my BIL owns this house and he's single...", if anything I would consider this a found family plot as Penny finds a lot more than she's even looking for.

Overall the pace of the book was quite slow, so if you're looking for a slower burn, funny family antics holiday novel. This one is for you!

A few thoughts… these kids, they were four years old.. now don’t get me wrong I’m the furthest from an expert in kids as you can get but weren’t they a little advanced in talking for FOUR YEAR olds? Please tell me if you agree. I haven’t seen this mentioned in any other reviews and I wanna know if I’m going mad!

The book was fine. It entertained me, it had all the festive activities and fun.

I wasn’t emotionally connected to the characters at all. The relationship felt weird and not at all organic and natural. The speech was strange.

I don’t really know what I'm saying but it didn’t flow for me really, the dialogue, the characters.

I did love the Grandad though!

This was cute, I liked the story and the characters were really loveable. The writing however fell flat and felt almost childish at some points!! If you’re looking for a very easy read with cute characters and an okay storyline this is really good

The aristocratic family needs help with rambunctious and precocious 4-year old twins while their artist mother finishes up consignments for the holidays. Penny jumps at the chance, not expecting to return to her teaching job after and move to India with her family. Lonely and sad, she is enamored by the stunning English manor house-her home for the next month. The twins are adorable, their mother funny and zany and their grandfather dashing and polite. When Penny encounters the twin's uncle Lando, who is anything but in the Christmas spirit, she tries to steer clear-except fate has different plans. With a supporting cast of quirky characters this is a very uplifting, charming holiday story.

Christmas with the Lords has such a cute cover! Not having heard of this book or author before, the cover definitely caught my attention and drew me in! This was a cute Christmas story that had a little bit of everything. And it absolutely felt like a Hallmark movie, which is what I was looking for, so that was perfect! When Penny unexpectedly gets dumped by her boyfriend, she decides to take a short term nanny job during the holidays. She finds herself caring for the Lord children and meeting a whole cast of unique characters along the way. There is a bit of romance at the end. I would have liked more of this. For me, the book was much stronger at the beginning than the end. But it was a cute read if you're looking for a light Christmas book.
