A lovely and wholesome holiday romance for fans of Jenny Colgan and Josie Silver.

This was a cute romcom to help get in the holiday spirit! Penny is hired to be a nanny for the Lords after a breakup with her long term boyfriend. The children are fun and adorable and of course there's a hot uncle hanging around for Penny to fall in love with. I really did enjoy most of this book, but there were times where Penny got on my nerves and it was a little bit too slow of a burn for my liking.
Thank you to @netgalley for an advance copy in exchange for my honest opinion!

URGENTLY WANTED: a nanny for Christmas. Seeking an adventurous nanny to work for the aristocratic Lord family at their country estate. Must love naughty dogs, mischievous children and have a high tolerance for Christmas chaos. Room and board provided.
Penny Windlesham is stunned when her long-term boyfriend suddenly dumps her, leaving her with a broken heart just in time for Christmas. At a loose end, she accepts a job as a short-term nanny to a family she’s never met. Climbing aboard a train bound for the Dorset countryside, a tear rolls down her cheek. Alone, working and amongst strangers… could her Christmas be any less magical?
As she crunches up the family’s frost-covered drive, Penny’s spirits lift when she glimpses her home for the next month: an enormous manor house, its windows glowing with firelight and festooned with twinkling holly. And, as she settles into her role caring for the adorable Lord children, she finds herself surrounded by a quirky cast of characters, including loveably frazzled Spanish chef Pilar and the children’s grouchy uncle, Lando Lord.
Despite Penny’s attempts to avoid him, the darkly handsome Lando seems to be everywhere – hanging around like Scrooge amidst the happy present-wrapping and gingerbread baking. Apparently he wasn’t always this way… is there some secret reason he’s so cranky at Christmas?
When Lando is commissioned to carve a beautiful new Nativity scene for the local church, Penny blushingly agrees to be his model, and a sudden spark flickers between them. But it’s not long before the past comes knocking, and Penny discovers exactly why Lando left his old life behind…
My Opinion
I came for the beautiful cover and stayed for the lovely plot. This book was such a sweet, heart-warming read that leaves you with the cosy feeling that comes from a nice festive read. This was a plot that I could easily see being used for a Christmas movie with some stunning characters. The entire family seemed very welcoming and within chapters it felt like everyone was firm friends.
Rating 4/5
"Christmas with the Lords" by Hannah Langdon earns a 3.7-star rating, blending heartbreak and joy in a festive tale. Penny Windlesham's journey as a temporary nanny unfolds against a charming backdrop, featuring endearing characters and a touch of Christmas magic.
Absolutely loved this festive treat! A gentle, heartwarming romance contrasted beautifully with the dotty, slightly chaotic antics of the Lord family, and the book was a lot of fun. Highly recommended.
This is a fun and enjoyable read. It is a light romance with an interesting story and a feel good factor. What more do you want at this time of year. Recommend
Christmas With the Lords is a cozy, holiday read.
Penny is dumped by her boyfriend unexpectedly, so to get away from it all, she decides to be a nanny for a family over the holidays.
Penny is a fun character and likable, as well as several other characters. The characters make the book fun and enjoyable. The plot of the story moved slow in my opinion, but still a cute book.
Thank you NetGalley and Storm Publishing for an advance readers copy.

Perfect for a holiday romance read by the fire. This was a quick read and i was definitely left hoping we would find out more about our main characters in a sequel.
I really enjoyed Penny and Lando's story. A very quirky group of people come together for a fun Christmas season. Love was totally unexpected but it is Christmas
It's my first time reading a book by Hannah Langdon and let me tell you hom much I enjoyed it! This book is full of joy, happiness, kindness, snow, christmas and of course romance! I was in need for a happy book and this one did it for me! I am giving it stars out of ! And now I can't wait to read another book by Hannah Langdon!!!
I loved everything about this book! I appreciated that the main characters were older, as I'm also in my late 30s (feels weird to type that though) and I'm getting a little sick of early 20s characters misunderstandings. This book gave us a quirky and loveable family, a great MMC/FMC that you really understand and root for and mostly just a great Christmas read. I wish we could do it again next year!
Wonderful! A glorious feel good Christmas romance full of warmth and love. The perfect festive read.
This book just sparkles. It is full of festive cheer, new beginnings and is totally addictive. I enjoyed reading this lovely story immensely.
I enjoyed the magical setting this book was placed in. Penny is a character I definitely could relate to and it was lovely to see her enjoy her time with the lords children from the get go. It seems like this style of story often times has the children at odds with there carer or nanny. The family was fun to read and learn more about and I found I was always pulling for them tonfigure it all out! A lovely Christmas time read!
I found Penny really sold this book for me. I could give or take Lando but Penny was the real star of the show. Teh way she handles all the situations she is faced with was absolutely delightful. Truthfully, I was more invested in Penny's journey than the relationship with Lando. The romance aspect felt a distant second to the whole crazy Lords and Christmas. There was no spice. Barely even a kiss. Not really my style but I read it all, so something resonated with me.
Big thanks to NetGalley, Storm Publishing and Hannah Langdon for this early release copy in exchange for my honest review.
This was a true Christmas read, and my first by this author, I really enjoyed it, the characters were well written and you knew who you were going to like and who you weren’t, go on this crazy ride and enjoy.
This was the first book I have read by Hannah Langdon but it won't be the last. This was a perfect book to start of the Christmas Season. This book gives you grumpy/sunshine, small town romance, laugh out loud moments and sweet moments. I really enjoyed reading this book and I definitely recommend this book for the holiday season.
Thank you NetGalley and Storm Publishing for allowing me to read this ARC for my honest opinion.
Penny, recently separated after a long relationship, seeks a break by becoming the nanny to the Lord family's twins in the English countryside. This experience unfolds into charming adventures, renewed family bonds, and romance. The author explores themes of mental health and pursuing personal desires while showcasing the beauty of Christmas and the English countryside. A light, captivating, and inspiring story, perfect for the festive season. The Lords are the ideal choice for sharing Christmas!
I look forward to reading more of Hannah Langdon's books!
If you are looking for a cozy, sweet Christmas romance that reads like a Hallmark Movie look no further. With decorating the tree, making cookies, Christmas shopping, and Christmas crafts this book checks all the boxes. The romance between Lando and Penny is slow burning and sweet. ❄️🎁🎄
A nice premise but unfortunately it didn't work for me. I struggled to connect to any of the characters and it all just felt very 'meh'. I wish I could explain it more beyond that, but I just wasn't feeling it. Thank you to netgalley for the arc.
Also, the entire time whenever Serafina was mentioned I was reminded of the cat from barbie princess and the pauper lmao.
