Ich weiß ehrlich gesagt nicht, wie ich dieses Buch bewerten soll, da ich es aufgrund relativ kurzer Ausleihdauer (ohne Verlängerung) nicht lesen konnte.

I wish this book had been around when I was a bit younger. This is a fantastic YA fantasy Epic. Its giving chosen one with a mighty purpose vibes, but done very well.

DNF 10%

Song of the Fallen by RA Casias is supposed to be about a 16 year old warrior of prophecy that brings an end to warring gods and settles her world into peace. What you will actually read is a poorly written attempt at a possibly young adult or middle-school age novel based in Greek mythology mashed with want-to-be hip today attitudes.

The text is poorly done with constant injections of modern vernacular and contradictions. Casias says the 14 year old brother is lean and lanky with shaggy hair on the second page and by the 4th page he is board-shouldered with a mop of curls. The neighbor girl is depicted as being a nuisance, then a friend, then a gossip, and then a confidant over the course of 4 pages, before being none of the above and suddenly the source of a “betrayal of trust”. Nope, it was never established how any of these side characters are involved with the main character and all the information dumped on the reader doesn’t iron out into a good story, it’s just text.

Overall, this wasn’t worth it, even the limited number of pages I read. The Prologue interactions of the gods was better, almost like it was written for a different novel altogether. Thanks to NetGalley for access to the ARC.

Until Next Time,
MC

Song of the Fallen by R.A. Casias is a solid first installment for a hero/heroine's journey fantasy series.
The writing especially the dialogue can be slightly stilted at times but the character work and world building shows genuine promise. I will definitely be checking out book two when the time comes to see how it develops.

I tried my hardest to get to 50% but had to DNF at 25%. The concepts within the book are interesting and I think it could have been a great read if it gave itself time to breathe. But it races through the actions so quickly that it’s hard to get a sense of what’s going on.

I really couldn’t handle the narration. It might work for someone else but I found it unbearable casual in the face of what the protagonist was experiencing.

Thanks to NetGalley for this book in exchange for an honest review.

DNF. I tried to get into this book, and was enjoying the interesting and creative magic system. Unfortunately the stilted writing and tropes prevented me from fully immersing myself in the world. I wanted to relate more to the character choices and the world but had trouble doing so.

Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy this book as much as I hoped to. It's an interesting concept but the characters felt one note to me and the conflicts resolved quite quickly and abruptly.

War rages between the gods, throwing the world into chaos. Only one hero can restore balance — but she is just a simple farm girl named Eko.

This was a really great first book and I look forward to the rest of the series. Eko is a great MC with a lot to root for. The world-building and the gods were really well done. I'm excited for this author.

A thrilling fantasy epic that plunges readers into a world torn apart by celestial war. The story follows Eko, an unsuspecting farm girl, who discovers her destiny as the God Slayer on her 16th birthday. What follows is a captivating tale of prophecy, magic, and adventure as Eko embarks on a quest to end the war between the gods and save humanity.

Casias has crafted a richly detailed world filled with intriguing characters and complex relationships. Eko's journey from a humble farm to a powerful hero is a gripping narrative, and the book keeps you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. With elements of mystery, magic, and high-stakes battles, Song of the Fallen is a must-read for fantasy enthusiasts craving an immersive and action-packed adventure.

Hey, fellow bookworms, I just finished reading Song of the Fallen by R. A. Casias, and it's like a fantasy rollercoaster you won't want to get off! Imagine being a simple farm girl named Eko, and then one day, you're told you're the God Slayer destined to end a massive war between the gods. Yeah, crazy, right?

This book is everything I love about fantasy – epic quests, magical powers, and a kick-butt heroine who's totally relatable. Eko's journey from farm life to hero status is a wild ride, and I couldn't put it down. If you're into action, adventure, and a dash of mystery, Song of the Fallen is the book for you. Trust me, you won't be able to resist Eko's epic adventure!

There is an interesting story in this book, but I didn’t think the way it was presented lived up to that. Fantasy for the younger reader. The story is written from the perspective of Eko our champion. But this is where my major issue is. The narrative read like a one tone monologue, without humour, and lots of seemingly pointless challenges. But as I often say, my view is just that. Have a read and see what you make of this book. Thank you to R. A. Casias and NetGalley for the ARC. The views expressed are all mine, freely given.
