If you like a fast paced, edge of your seat rollercoaster ride, then this is the book for you. Told by diverse characters in different chapters but all contiguous timelines, the story races across America, London, Canada, with various religions, FBI procedural, terrorist type activity and a side smattering of familial love. I devoured this in less than two days and feel a bit drained now - as if I was one of the hunted.

This is a well-written thriller with enough twists and turns to keep you on your toes!

Did it get a tad slow at times? Yes! Was it predictable every now and then? Also, yes! But I did enjoy the plot, the intriguing characters, and the ups and downs so definitely worth a read.

I adore Abir Mukherjee's Wyndham and Banerjee series, so I was intrigued to read his first contemporary novel – a political thriller no less!

I was in no way disappointed by Hunted, with action across every page and every chapter, I couldn't help but keep reading long into the evening.

One of the things that struck me most about this book was the writing. This felt like a step up from what was already such a high standard, and I can only hope that I can write like this one day. Each word and sentence felt meaningful, deliberate and I was filled up in the literary sense.

Hunted take place in both London and America, spanning across the states unlike any book I've ever read before. I cannot recommend this book highly enough and I hope to read more contemporary fiction from Abir!

This was the first Mukherjee novel that I have read but I have seen him at Harrogate Crime Festival & 'I liked the cut of his jib', he came across as a very funny & interesting man. His novels had previously been recommended to me also so he was on my radar. Thanks to Netgalley, I was able to read this title prior to it being published.
I am an avid crime reader, probably 4 - 6 a month, so have read many over the years, & I have go to authors, & Abir is now sitting on that list as I really enjoyed his writing.
Hunted, as the title suggests follows a hunt for the perpetrators of a terrible act; in this instance, a bombing in a shopping mall, which immediately made me think of the Westgate attack & 'The White Widow”.
Told over 8 days & from 5 separate voices; Yasmin, Shreya, Greg, Sajid & Rehana, the plot unfurls & what appears to have set the road to destruction off is not as straight forward as we would believe. Full of twists & turns, this is a fast paced & with an easy to follow plot.

In London, the police storm Heathrow Airport to bring a father in for questioning about his missing daughter.

In Florida, a mother makes a connection between her son and the bomber, fearing he has been radicalised.

And in Oregon, an unknown organisation's conspiracy to bring America to its knees unfolds.

On the run from the authorities, two parents are thrown together in a race against time to stop a catastrophe that will derail the country's future forever.

This is the first book by the author that I have read, but it won't be my last. There was so much going on in this well-written book. The twists were fantastic. The characters were interesting. We have two stories interwoven, and I loved how they came together. The ending was perfectly executed, and I never saw it coming.

Love Amir Mukherjee's books set in India so was really interested to read this one. A contemporary novel set in the UK and USA with contemporary issues. Brilliant read, fast paced, well written, great characters

Believe the reviews – ‘Hunted’ is fast-paced, it is all-too-credible, filled with authentic characters and horrifying scenarios. The overriding panic when reading this thriller is one of keep up, keep up, keep up … The shrewd US Agent is pivotal, as are the willing sacrifices – all too easily seduced and enlisted by zealots via the Internet – and the lengths to which parents will go to rescue and protect their children.
The author’s love of language is unequivocal and captures the fervour, fears, and obsessions of all the parties involved, crosses nationalities and religions and politics, to palpable and intense fulfilment.. I sincerely hope that this will not be a stand-alone novel – Agent Shreya Mistry needs to demonstate her talents in more
Now I have to read Abir Mukherjee’s other books, which I have just ordered. Writing such as his is something to treasure.

Thank you to the author, publishers Harvill Secker and NetGalley UK for access to this as an advance reader’s ebook. This is an honest and voluntary review.

FBI agent Shreya Mistry has an uncanny ability to get inside the head of a suspect. But, she’s less able to explain what her instincts tell her making it difficult to get the backing of senior colleagues. She knows everything isn’t how it appears when a young woman is at the centre of an attack on a mall, but as the agency tries to shunt her aside her commitment to the truth unites her with two parents who can’t trust the authorities to find their children, and all three are caught in a race across the country, hunted by forces known and unknown.

An unrelenting thriller that keeps up the pace throughout before hurtling to an ending that left me breathless.

Told from different perspectives the novel doesn’t shy away from the challenges of a world where people are judged by perceptions based on the colour of their skin and ancient prejudices, without ever becoming preachy. That hate leads to hate. Challenges perceptions of who the bad guys are without feeling judgmental, and recognising that at the end of the day it is the innocent people with families and feelings who are caught in the cross-fire. And, above all it’s a really good story told well.

A fast-paced and compelling read from one of the most respected voices in modern crime fiction. The story kept surprising me, and Mukherjee's writing is sublime. A perfect summer holiday read.

An enjoyable read but didn't live up to expectations. I was recommended Abir by a friend but it was slow in places and the plot very unrealistic. Most fiction is unrealistic but I felt reactions by the characters were very unlikely. A bomb goes off in a shopping centre killing numerous people. Sajid's daughter Aliyah and her friend, Greg are identified as a terrorists within the same group in the US. Sajid enters the USA illegally with the help of Greg's mother to reach their children before the FBI. The other half of the plot follows Shreya, a maverick FBI agent trying to stop further bombings and locate the cell. Despite the book feeling overly long especially the parents chase, the ending was inconclusive so I assume there will be a sequel.
Despite my negativity, I never thought of giving up halfway. I'm sure many will enjoy this and I will try another of his books.

I can certainly see Hunted on the big screen. An intense, action packed thriller that kept me guessing until the very end.

A story of parents trying to find their children who have been caught up with a terrorist group. Bombs are toting off across America, and these parents are scared for their children. All of this happening amidst a presidential campaign. Thee are plenty of unexpected twists in this story, and lots of characters that you will love and those you will loathe.and some you won’t know what to think about.

After a slow start, I really got invested in this story and flew through the second half.

Thanks so much to Random House UK and NetGalley for my advanced copy of this book to read. Publishes on May 9th.

A well timed book in the light of the upcoming U.S presidential elections, which takes the reader of a journey across America and Canada. The author highlights the radicalism and racism which all nations have and handles it well. I loved the latent humour which he uses when discussing the two contenders for the position as president along with one of the characters knowledge of all of the state capitals even though she isn't American. So although this book is not like his 'Indian' series, it is well paced and keeps you guessing who the real traitor is right to the end.

Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC to review.

A bomb explodes in California … families torn apart wanting answers. A clever book about a terrorist group and intertwined with American election and politics. A lot of characters and sometimes I struggled to keep up. Jumped about a bit too much for me.

WOW. What an exhilaratingly tense and gripping read from Abir Mukherjee. Completely different from his Sam Wyndham series, Hunted kept my heart beating through every page. A fantastic read and my favourite of the year so far. 5 stars

Wow! Hunted by Abir Mukherjee is some read!
The story of America under threat amidst a presidential election, as a far right group attempts to destabilise the country with terror attacks carried out by groomed youngsters.

An explosive, action packed story plays out that after a slowish start really barrels along into an incredibly powerful and fast paced read.

Packed with characters driving the story along, Some likeable, some not so, Mukherjee manages to bring all these characters storylines together into an intensely thrilling finale.

It’s a great read and I love the different points of view from the frenzied cast. A sure fire hit!

An extremely convoluted story that I found irksome at times then rather exciting. Need to concentrate on the number of characters and where they all fit as it races hither and thither. It all ends without revealing what the conspirators were after or who they really were. Still maybe there’s a sequel but maybe there’s not.

I haven't read any of Mr Mukherjee's books before, and, when I first started the book, it felt like many other thrillers. However, I very soon got caught up in this fast paced tale with some satisfyingly unexpected twists and turns and I also became a fan of the author's ability to hold my attention while explaining nuances of Black ops and FBI protocol while also playing out some compex interpersonal relationships. I realised when I'd finished reading that I was still unclear on the motivations of some of the key characters, but I'd enjoyed being in the moment. I'll be looking out for it on a screen near me soon!
Thank you to netgalley and Random House for an advance copy of this book

This book is blurbed by big names like Lee Childs, Steve Cavanagh, Ruth Ware, MArk Billingham. Could it live up to the hype? YES
This has a TV series option written all over it! I thoroughly enjoyed this book which took me in directions I was not expecting.
I feel like I don't want to say too much as what I loved most was going in cold to this book, with absolutely no idea in which direction the book was going.
Yasmin and Jack are in LA, in a shopping mall and the tension is palpable. What is going to happen.
Two parents combine their efforts to locate their children in order to stop them from making the biggest mistakes of their lives.
FBI Agent Shreya goes rogue to try to get to the bottom of things.
Meanwhile there is a crucial presidential election about to happen.
This read like an action packed version of the TV series 24. I was hooked in quickly and invested in some characters. The twists and turns are fantastic. This is an unputdownable read! I had to keep on reading to find out what would happen to each character. A first rate thriller from an author I have not read before but am now checking out their back catelogue!
Many thanks to Netgalley for an advance reader copy for an honest review.
