To say I wanted more would be an understatement. This was a delicious page turner right from the start. Everytime I had to put it down, it was all I could think about. I did end up finishing way past my bedtime, just so I would be able to sleep. If you love a quick, immersive thriller, than this is definitely for you!
I thoroughly enjoyed this plot and found I couldn’t stop listening. However the narrators ran at different speeds which is a little annoying. The characters were really well formed and the story ran along very nicely. The excitement I felt even when I knew what was going to happen added to my enjoyment. This is not the first book I’ve listened to by this author and it won’t be the last
Heading towards Christmas, this is a great Christmas detective thriller. It's fast paced with multi points of view to keep the story moving.
There was some really good twists and really enjoyed seeing the crime through different character's eyes.
I really liked both narrators, they both did a great job at showcasing different characters.
Thank you NetGalley and Hodder & Stoughton Audio.
Engaging thriller with twists. Told from different points of views which added to the plot & Great audiobook narration.
Thank you to the publishers and NetGalley for the ARC.
This murder mystery/thriller is a Christmas cracker. This audiobook kept me entertained for hours and will be a favourite over the festive period. I loved the narraters Imogen Church and Simon Mattack who make this audiobook come alive - fabulous! A very attractive woman turns up at Christmas parties like a honey trap. A man eventually approaches but little does he know what he has just let himself in for. Meanwhile the murders keep h mounting up. We also meet a police duo, Becky Greene and Eddie Carmine who are on the case and are trying to solve the murders. Perfect listen and enjoyable. Thank you Netgalley and Hodder Stoughton Audio.
This book was a pleasant surprise. I had never heard of SJI Holliday before I listened to this book but the cover and title caught my eye while scrolling through NetGally and the blurb sounded interesting. Although it’s only October and this is set around Christmas I thought i could cheat and read it for halloween as it was a thriller.
I very much enjoyed this book and I listened do it almost in one sitting. It got me hooked from the first few chapters. The characters were interesting and had depth to them and It had lots of fun twists and turns, some I saw coming and some i didn’t.
I also really enjoyed that the chapters are told from different characters perspectives as I love getting to see into multiple characters brains.
If your looking for a fun thriller to read either for Halloween or Christmas i recommend it!
Loved this book! Fast paced with great characters! I listened to the audio version and was delighted to see it was read by Imogen church! Definitely recommend this book.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The Party Season by S.J.I. Holliday, an audiobook narrated by Imogen Church and Simon Mattacks is a twisty Christmas detective thriller. And I loved it! The storyline is unusual and this always is a bonus. Dual narrators made this book more enjoyable as it was easy to follow what was going on. I liked that there weren't too many characters to remember so there was no confusion about who is who. Some parts were more descriptive some fast-paced.
DI Eddie Carmine and DS Beckie Greene must solve the mystery of dead bodies in different hotels. Someone is using party season to find the next victim.
Party Girl is a stunning young woman who has a mission and she has a good reason why she is doing this.
Is Party Girl planning to do this forever or she will be stopped? Will Eddie and Beckie solve the mystery if there are no leads or clues?
Thank you NetGalley and Hodder & Stoughton Audio for this fantastic Christmas thriller!
It’s Christmas party season and with the festivities in full swing it’s time to celebrate with your friends and colleagues, relaxing, laughing, dancing and merry making as the drinks steadily flow, but can you honestly say you know everyone at the party?
This was an enjoyable listen, that will make you think twice about hooking up at your work doo, whilst you shudder in recognition of the office creep we’ve all had to deal with, tingle at the anticipation of budding office romance, and feel the defeated rage of the down but not yet out killer.
