This series is amazing and I truely love it!! Briar has become an auto read author for me. These are hidden gems that definitely deserve more attention

This book ate—and honestly? I think it slayed harder than Queen of Roses! We pick up right where Book 1 left off, and boom—Morgan wakes up in some mystery location, magically tethered to Draven, aka the walking red flag she cannot stand. And let me tell you, the tension? Delicious.
Every. Single. Thing. About. This. Book. Was. Perfection. The world-building? Immaculate. The pacing? Snappy. The plot? Juicy. The romance? Whew. The spice? Chefs are weeping. The action? Had me on the edge of my seat, thank you very much.
I’m obsessed. Fully, unapologetically obsessed. This series has me in a chokehold, and I’m sprinting into Book 3 like my life depends on it. That cliffhanger? Rude. And Briar? She’s not just writing books, she’s crafting magic. I am so here for every jaw-dropping, heart-clutching, smirk-inducing word.

So much better than book 1! Fast paced and action packed, the romance in this book was so much better in this book then the first, I really enjoyed. Can’t wait to read book 3!

Okay romance! Spice! Intrigue! The LIES! The way our FMC grows in this one, pushes the boundaries of her own, and also the ones set out in the world of the MMC. I'm excited to see where this story goes

Court of Claws by Briar Boleyn is an intriguing fantasy novel that immerses readers in a world of political intrigue, magical factions, and complex relationships. The author’s world-building is one of the highlights, creating a rich, atmospheric setting filled with intrigue and danger. The plot is engaging, and the story unfolds with plenty of twists and turns, keeping the reader hooked.
However, while the world and plot are captivating, the pacing can feel a bit uneven, with some sections dragging while others are rushed. The characters, particularly the protagonist, show promise but could have been developed more deeply to make their motivations and struggles more compelling. The romance subplot, though central to the story, sometimes feels predictable and detracts from the overall tension of the narrative.
Overall, Court of Claws is an enjoyable fantasy read with a strong setting and interesting premise, but it lacks the depth and pacing to elevate it to something truly exceptional. Fans of the genre will likely find it entertaining, though it doesn’t quite stand out in a crowded field of fantasy novels.

Court of Claws by Briar Boleyn pulled me in with its dark world and complex characters. The story follows a strong-willed protagonist navigating a world full of political intrigue, magic, and dangerous alliances. The tension between the characters is palpable, especially as loyalties are tested. Boleyn’s writing has this raw quality that really brings the stakes to life. I found myself swept up in the twists and turns of the plot.

Such a well written book. You have Morgan who is so lost, she just lost her love and is now stuck with someone she doesn’t even know. The kingdom is in shambles and no one knows what to do. This book is chaotic and ends on a cliffhanger but it’s so good you never stop turning the pages!

Thanks you NetGalley for the ebook arc. While it was wonderfully written it didn’t really stand out to me, but would recommend to others

*I received this book free via NetGalley*
There is so much to say, so be prepared for a slight ramble.
The Court of Claws is a vicious place. At the end of the previous book Morgan lay dying, and Kairos made a deal to save her. This book has her waking up in his kingdom, in his bed. He's more secretive than ever and she's just as feisty. Locked away, deep underground, with a not so welcome beginning, all Morgan wants to do is escape, to get back home and help defeat her brother's craziness, but first she has a part to play...or so she thinks.
"You have the most beautiful laugh, you know. You rarely use it, but when you do..." He took a breath and to my shock I felt him tremble. "It shakes my world. My entire world." ~Kairos
She finds a few she can trust, or at least who will talk to her. She finds small facts out, here and there, as she tries to piece everything together. All while Kairos is there to fight for his kingdom. And fight he does. He makes is through the first challenge, but the second left him injured and unconscious. In order to save his life, yet again, Morgan is forced to attend the third and final challenge in his place. A challenge she'll win, for him...or so she thought. Much to Morgan's surprise, Kairos has other plans, and more formal announcements.
I don't want to give it away, but I have to say it, so please stop reading here if you don't want to know.
Not only was Morgan the Prince's Paramour, but she was also his wife. That bonding ceremony at the end of book one bonded them! Forever! And not only did Morgan learn this juicy tidbit of lie and betrayal, but at the same time she also learned that he didn't choose to be king. She'd won him the final challenge and he backs down...and makes her Empress! Oh, she was furious. The man she had scorched sheets with, the man she was utterly falling in love with, had betrayed her with his secrets.
Then immediately after learning all of these things, she's forced to fight back-to-back with the one man she'd have loved to stab herself. Oh, their conversations during this battle are epic! I laughed so hard.
"You wouldn't believe me if I told you."
I scowled to myself. "Probably not. Born leader, did you say? More like born liar?"
Draven chuckled. "You're a force of destiny Morgan Pendragon. Or should I call you Morgan Venator?"
My heart skipped a beat. "Don't you fucking dare." ~This conversation between Morgan and Kairos was just a glimpse at how he loved to push the married buttons on her angry wifey card.
The suspense is perfectly written in this one, but the twists and turns...holy moly they take it up a notch. And the ending is just as cliffhanger as ever. Morgan saves the kingdom, finds out her dreams aren't really dreams while also discovering another betrayal, gets her heart broken yet again, and then flees in epic fashion. But who follows her, and who is there when she arrives...I cannot even begin to imagine what is going to happen next.

Oh my gosh this series has literally left me in a total and complete chokehold, and I cannot stop! Draven and Morgan are EVERYTHING and I just can’t wait to read more!

This story was an interesting story from an author I don’t know or haven’t read before! Will look at finding other things by this author. I am grateful for the early access, thank you to those that allowed it!

Book two of the Blood of a Fae series, let's go! I have an elephant with this book, our FMC Morgan is a girl who buries her head in the sand, is literally wearing a KD blindfold, this girl would not recognise loyalty and trust if it was tattooed on her forehead and she could see it in a mirror! I felt this was a little frustrating, but... our girl does develop from book one and I am certain she will continue into book 3.
KD continues to peak in this series, its not dark romance, but he's the spicy MMC I like to read. I like the picture Boleyn has painted and I'd hang it on my bedroom wall!
Also, we ended on a cliffy, so book three here I come!

I was so glad that this book did not suffer from the book 2 slump that seems to affect so many series. All the action from book 1 kept right on moving in this book. Plot twists kept on twisting and the story had more momentum than book 1 did. I did find that this one was much more of an emotional rollercoaster than book 1 was. This book introduces the reader to several new characters, all of whom are well-written. Villains you love to hate, some new besties, and more found family- I mean, who doesn’t love a talking bear?? Draven is 100% my new book boyfriend, he is just everything I love in MMC- dark, broody, protective, lethal, and squishy on the inside. I devoured this book in a day, I just couldn’t put it down. This book is still a bit of a slow-burn spice-wise, but it does pick up in this book so don’t give up if you were holding out for spice! This book does end on a cliffhanger like the last one, so make sure you have book three ready to go!

It took me a while to dive back into the world of Morgan Pendragon, but 'Court of Claws' definitely picked up where 'Queen of Roses' left off. This book throws you right back into the action, and the intrigue and danger just keep escalating.
Morgan's journey takes some unexpected turns, and her relationship with Draven is definitely complicated. I found myself constantly questioning their motives and wondering where their loyalty truly lies. The world-building continues to be a strong point, and the glimpses into the Siabra court are fascinating.
While there are a few moments that feel a bit predictable, the overall story is still captivating. I'm curious to see how Morgan's story unfolds and how she will ultimately navigate the treacherous waters of this dangerous court. I'm definitely eager to see what happens next in this series.

The cliffhangers are killing me! So much happens in this book. The amount of detail and background that’s jammed into this story is insane. The character development is seriously flowing here and you start to see their true underlying motivations and who they truly are. The new characters added some depth and I’m starting to get a sense of where this is going. All in all this was a fantastic second book in the trilogy. Very well done.

The second installment in the series picks up where the first book ended. And boy I am hooked to this series. The sassy banter between the main leads and morally grey nature of MC. I love Morgan so much.
The tropes:
Bonded Mates
Found Family
He fell first

Picks up where book 1 left off. I wouldn't necessarily count it as an Arthurian re-telling but it's the sequel of one, so.
Spice is great, their struggle feels real, the story is worked through and reads amazing as it should be!
Haven't written my review yet, but I enjoyed this one.
After a while, it felt slightly dragging and a bit slow-burn(?) in a way, but for those who love that, it shouldn't be a problem.
Still love the MCs, their supports and the amazing worldbuilding!

Thank you NetGalley and Briar Boleyn for the eARC!
I honestly felt a little unsatisfied with this second book in the series and admit that I liked the first book more. Overall, I didn’t hate, the book, but nor did I love it. Huge spoiler alert:‼️ I felt extremely unsatisfied with two major points in the story. Firstly, when Draven and Morgan finally got together. It honestly didn’t feel overly romantic to me. And perhaps that is what Boleyn was aiming for since it’s very obvious Morgan feels conflicted in her feelings for Draven and is almost just using his body. I guess I personally desired her to finally admit her feelings for him and it just never came. Secondly, I was sooooo disappointed in how Avriel was killed. I read it and was just kind of like, that was it? Okay then.
I liked the rest of the book. I think something Boleyn does very effectively is descriptions. Every scene, every trial, every location was thoroughly described and really gives you a mental image of where the characters are at in the story. I really liked the development of Lyrastra’s character. In the end, you can’t help but root for her and like her.
I think readers should be aware of the triggers going into this book. Things don’t typically bother me, but child death (repeatedly) and zombie children battles need to be something I think readers are made aware of. Boleyn includes a trigger warning list which I think is appropriate for these books.
Spoiler alert: but I really liked that the bond between Draven and Morgan. I think it’s original and pretty cool that they are able to share powers with one another since they are bonded. I also think it’s super cool Morgan has bonded with her exmoor and that it can speak to her. I definitely look forward to how the exmoor and Morgan’s relationship grows in the next books. I hope he is every bit the warrior cat we want him to be. Also I loved Hawk so much. They would for sure be my best friend.
I’m anxious to see how this storyline of Rychel and the grail play out and to see how things go now that Morgan is back in Pendrath. Spoiler alert: PS why did Beks have to die? That actually made me so mad and didn’t add to the story whatsoever. Nor did Javer have to die. That honestly made no sense to me whatsoever.

"Court of Claws" by Briar Boleyn is a spellbinding blend of courtly intrigue and simmering romance. The heroine is clever and fiercely determined, making her impossible not to root for. It’s the sort of book that keeps you up far too late, utterly enchanted.

It has been a while since I read the 1st book in this series but I feel right back into it once I started. This a truly a 4 star read for me. I love the story line, I love court politic, the trails to become a new emperor, the force proximity of brings Morgan to his court. All this is so good. The 2nd book defiantly deviated from the King Arthur Court story line but being in the Court of the Siabra, the storyling of the cursed fae children, the bond between Morgan and Draven. I really liked the introduction to the new characters. This author has a way of keeping you on your toes of whether they are good or evil and I never know which way to lean. All of these parts of the story are soo soo good. The one part of this book and this series has been Morgan herself. This character flips and flops so many times I can't keep track of where she is. She hates Draven, she loves him, she wants his body but she is going to leave him. It is completely obvious that he is completely in love with her but she ignores that and blames him for everything. I just don't get it. ( I can only assume in order to keep the "enemies to lovers" trope going this author continues to make Morgan be mad at Draven for nothing. The whole story line could have been way better if she just acknowledged her feelings but knew she had to leave anyway and he said he couldn't go. Way more dramatic but here we are with her leaving him even though he said he would help her, even though he has done nothing to her.
I will be reading the third. The storyline is really interesting. I need to know what is happening with Arthur and his war, I am so excited to see Lancelet back and excited to see where that goes ( I am assuming back more to the King Arthur Court storyline).
Anyway - Really really good storyline, Highly recommend if you like Court of Thorns and Roses and Blood And Ash. I am excited to see what the next book brings.
