What an amazing story, beautiful and heart wrenching, expertly written, absolutely loved this book as many of Susan’s others I have read! what a journey for Catie

This is my first Susan Lewis book and having just finished it I’m absolutely certain it won’t be my last.
This lovely book transported me from a wet and cold English Spring day to beautiful, sunny and warm Sicily. What’s not to like?
Catie has decided to take a holiday in Taormina to reassess her life as she has come to some sort of crossroads. She has many demons and an extremely complicated story which is gradually revealed by flashbacks in the book as she attempts to write down her history on the advice of her therapist.
However, whilst trying to sort out her difficulties she meets the charming Giancarlo who has a few secrets of his own. Will the two get together or will their complicated pasts clash?
I really enjoyed getting to know Catie and discover her passion for music. The author has made her a well rounded character and readers are able to build a picture of her in their minds as she is described as both a teenager embarking on her first love as well as an adult who has suffered much loss and tragedy in her life.
The one thing that is a constant in her life is her love of music.
I also liked the other characters in the novel and the fact that they were able to mature , recognise their own mistakes and change accordingly. Everyone deserves a second chance. Some of the people who are Catie’s biggest comfort as she moves through her later life are those people she could not rely on when she was young.
This was a novel with such a great plot that I was in a complete rush to know how it would all pan out hence the fact I could barely put the book down! That and the beautiful setting of a sunny Mediterranean island!
If you like a romantic novel with a hint of mystery this is definitely the book for you.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for my advance copy.

This in my humble opinion is Susan Lewis’s best to date I loved the story and the way it went back in time as catia told her story the setting was beautiful and every turn kept me wondering where next how much can this character take I even shed a tear in a couple of spots a great read and high recommend can’t wait for her next release

The main character Catie Mac who at the age of sixty three has come to a crossroads in her life . She decides to travel to Sicily. Her story is set over 40 years painting some wonderful scenery in your imagination and some intriguing characters.
it has love, loss and family throughout the pages.
Susan Lewis has done it again.

Susan Lewis is the best selling author of over fifty novels that span the genres of romance, crime, thrillers, suspense and family drama. I have to confess that I have only read a tiny percentage of them. This needs to be rectified!
The main character Catie Mac at the age of sixty three has come to a difficult time a crossroads in fact. She decides to travel to Sicily to take some private alone time to reevaluate her life. It turns out to be a perfect place for Catie to recuperate and come to terms with her past and maybe her future. The author tells us her story within a story set over forty years with a wonderful cast of characters and beautiful locations. Both of which come alive on the pages of this gripping read.
A Sicilian Affair really hit the spot for me, as I found it a captivating read. Recommended to readers that not only love Italy but like a novel with depth that will warm the heart with plenty of conflicting emotions along the way.
With thanks to NetGalley and Harper Collins for letting me have an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

My favourite author has done it again this book is so good it’s about Catie whose life has been very hard and heartbreaking she escapes reality and ends up in Sicily where she meets the very dapper Giancarlo but she can’t escape her past.
Hopefully this will be a new life for her in the beautiful sunshine or will it be her downfall?
Definitely recommend loved it couldn’t turn the pages quick enough.
Thank you to Netgalley and Harper Collins UK for an ARC

I absolutely adored this book! We begin by meeting Catie, fresh out of prison and determined to turn her life around. To do this, she ventures to Sicily, where she meets people who will change her life and where she begins to come to terms with her traumatic past. We learn about Catie's past via her writing her memoir and this is such a beautiful way of revealing the past. There is an awful lot to Catie's life and it felt special to read about it in her own words and understand how she feels about events.
There is so much to the plot and I devoured this book as I was desperate to know the truth about Catie's past. Lewis includes twists and turns throughout and I was gripped by what could possibly be coming next. Lewis really has included everything in this plot, there is love, trauma, loss, betrayal and a sense of hope.
'A Sicilian Affair' is the perfect read, full of romance but also a gripping plot to go with it.
Thank you to NetGalley and HarperCollins UK for an advance copy.

I was gripped by this. It's truly excellent. Catie's story is part sad, part joyous. What a woman she is. Just one thing, I felt saddened by her husband's actions and wished that plot could have had a different outcome. I love the way Lewis wrote this, how she builds intrigue. Brilliant! With thanks to NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Susan Lewis, this is the most beautiful love story….. I needed some tissues! That’s all I’m going to say!!!
This haunting tale follows the story of Catie, her life, loves, family and losses.
It starts in a Sicilian town, far away from her real life. She’s run away from something but she needs the space to sort her head out…We start to find out about her past as she starts to come to terms with it all.
Obviously the official synopsis mentions the handsome Giancarlo. He sounds a real dreamboat! They fall for each other but she’s damaged at this point. Will he heal her emotional scars? Oh my goodness! This is the tip of the iceberg! There is so much more to this story!
I absolutely demolished this in two days! I loved it and got right behind Catie throughout her life.
Many thanks to Harper Collins for the opportunity to read this arc copy for review consideration via Netgalley. My opinion is my own.

I always know I’m in for a good read when I pick up a book by Susan Lewis - and this is no exception. Lewis captures people and places so well and has created yet another compelling and emotive read - possibly my favourite ever of her books.
It is the story of Catie, who leaves the UK to travel to Taormina in Sicily. As Catie begins to reflect on her life on the advice of her therapist, so we learn all that Catie has been through, and why she needed to escape. And when she meets Giancarlo and they connect, she begins to open up to him and we learn the true extent of her difficult past. But as she reveals her secrets, does Giancarlo have secrets of his own?
It’s a moving story as you feel for Catie and long for her happy ending - a rollercoaster of highs and lows full of emotion and with a plot with enough mystery to keep you guessing, it all makes for an absorbing read. And Sicily comes perfectly to life - get me on a plane now! This is Susan Lewis on fine form - I loved it!

Another wonderful read from Susan Lewis. The split between timelines and countries really works well and I loved all the music references. A fantastic family drama.

Many thanks to NetGalley, HarperCollins UK and Susan Lewis for my ARC of 'The Sicilian Affair' in return for an honest review. I have not read any of this author's novels before but was intrigued by the title and blurb.
Catie has recently been released from prison even though she is a talented singer.
Catie has run away to Sicily after her release to think about her life and to write her own story. she has been advised by her therapist that this will help.
Katie meets Giancarlo as she is shown around the island. There are many secrets to be revealed.

I read this book in one day as I couldn’t put it down. It has everything from romance, heartbreak, drama, intrigue and I was hooked.
It’s all about Catie Mac’s life, as she travels to Sicily to write down her life story.
The characters were so detailed and I loved the relationship with her father. Some of the other characters were just vile but it was interesting to see how things changed over the years and relationships improved or imploded.
An excellent book which I would definitely recommend.
Thanks to NetGalley, Susan Lewis and Harper Collins UK, Harper Fiction for an advance copy in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.

Susan Lewis has done it again with another gripping family drama. Set alternately in Sicily and Bristol, this is an excellent and well crafted story with wonderful characters and a gorgeous sense of place. Superb.

Five stars! Well that’s a given. Susan Lewis is my favourite author and when I started this book I thought it was a slightly different style to her other book. Within a few chapters I was totally sucked into Catie’s story.
A Sicilian Affair is a dual timetine story of catie’s life.
Early on we learn she’s running from something horrendous in her past but when she meets Giancarlo she finally tells her story.
A beautiful book set in a beautiful location. I loved every page. Laughed and cried with Catie.
Thank you NetGalley for an ARC of this fabulous book.

Catie has been released from prison and risking falling foul of the authorities escapes to Sicily to try to make sense of her past and put her demons to bed.
A family story with a huge twist of deception , ambition and reconciliation with a lovely touch of romance intertwined.
This book delivers on all levels

I love almost every book I have read by Susan Lewis, she just knows how to get me hooked. This was such a good read overall and I got so immersed that I finished in over 2 days.

Another great story by Susan Lewis. This time we meet Catie who goes to Sicily to escape her past which is full of secrets. This is a wonderful read with great characters, storyline and setting. It had me hooked from start to finish.

Another great read from Susan Lewis. 62 year old singer Catie Mac goes to Sicily on a whim to write and come to terms with the events of her past. Meeting handsome, charming Giancarlo is cathartic for her as she is able to tell her story, and this is how we meet the events that have shaped Catie's life from our first meeting with her on her 18th birthday. There is so much more to this story than a late life love affair, some of it heartbreaking. An emotional, satisfying read. As I get older, I enjoy reading books with characters who are also no longer in their youth. #netgalley #ASicilianAffair

This is a great story, starting off with Catie remembering her past ,you know that something bad has happened to her but you don’t know what.
The story then unfolds with Catie as a teenager and lives with her dad Mac and her mum Patty. They are happy as a family and really close with Catie singing in her dad’s band. And Catie looks as if she could have a great career as a singer, then she meets Lawrence the love of her live!
You never know what’s going to happen in your life which Catie finds out!!
This is a roller coaster of a story with lots of twists and turns,
Enjoyable read that got you hooked from page 1 to the final page, well written and an intriguing storyline.
