The cover was captivating to look at. It was fun rom com. It had moments that made me laugh and made me feel things. The romance was a bit off at times but , overall, a fun read.

I knew I had to read this book after reading Megan’s first book Falling Hard for the Royal Guard

This book was a fun rom com. I loved the family feel of Daisy’s family and community.

I also love the Royal family and this book gives lots of Royal vibes!

There were some laugh out loud moments and some moments that made me sad

I can’t wait to see what Megan has in store next!!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an eARC in exchange for an honest review. I have given Love at First Knight by Megan Clawson three out of five stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️

I really wanted to like this book more than I did but sadly, it didn’t tick all of the boxes for me.

Our main character, Daisy, was an interesting character who loves LARPing and stereotypical geeky things. I loved her relationship with her family, they’re so close and really care for one another. I thought the author wrote about how Daisy deals with anxiety very well and how she stop's outside of her comfort zone by being her LARPing alter ego: Lady A.

I wasn’t a huge lover of the romance but I think that might have something to do with finishing the majority of this book by listening to the audiobook and I wasn’t very keen on the narrator’s voice for the characters dialogue. One thing that I really liked was Daisy’s first couple of interactions with our love interest, it made me chuckle deeply when we found out who the love interest was. I thought the romance would’ve been more enjoyable if there was more of a build up to it as it felt as though one moment they hated each other and the next, I clicked my fingers and they had feelings for each other.

I would’ve preferred to see some of the loose ends tied up to complete the questions I had whirling around in my head to be answered but all in all I really liked the idea of the concept of this book and enjoyed the geeky side Megan Clawson brought to this book.

Surprisingly, I could not relate to any character in this book. The premise was a very interesting coming of age tale that I would recommend picking up if the ren-faire/LARP setting intrigues you.

ARC provided by Publisher in exchange for an honest review.

I would like to thank Avon Books and NetGalley for sending me a copy of this ARC. I was fortunate enough to receive a copy of Megan Clawson's debut last winter, and it made me miss London so much. getting to revisit her world and this beautiful city again through her sequel was a wonderful surprise.

To be honest the story started off slow. Daisy our main character is in her small little hometown, prepping for this big LARPing festival, and with that not being something I knew anything about I felt falsely dragging through the pages. When her dad forces her hand, and applies to a position as a summer camp instructor to train children to be knights, her world opens up, and us as a reader get to see all of the intricacies of who she is as a person.

As someone who is neurodivergent, seeing her talk about her fears and having to "become someone else" to convince herself to be brave, I really resonated with her and her strength. I've told myself so many times that I have worn so many masks that I'm not sure what is me and what is a mask, I loved seeing all of the characters remind her that the strong persona she has of herself is still her, even if she gives it another name. Its a reminder that these fragments of me are still me and that rather than picking and choosing the pieces of myself to love, I should love the whole that they create.

I adore Daisy as a character with my entire heart and I just want to protect her and help her realize just how brave she is. Also we will always support and uplift nerds on this side of the internet

Now for the romance--If you've read any of my reviews, or have seen my typical TBR choices, you know im a enemies-to-lovers bitch through and through. Theo/Teddy has one goal, and t hat is to make his self irredeemable in the eyes of his uncle, the King. He is brash and arrogant, and Daisy not knowing who he is and treating him like he's nothing special instantly has him enthralled in her.

That said I adore this man and his antics. Did he get Daisy fired? Yes. Do I still love him? Yes. Literally zero complaints about this man. Okay, I lied, maybe one. Theo, sweetie, there is this little thing called communication, and if you were just honest with our girl instead of talking shit about her to the royals, you would've saved everyone a lot of angst and heartbreak.

It was fun to see a couple familiar characters pop up, and I would kill to see the double date between Maggie, Daisy, Freddie and Theo. Especially after Daisy's little accidental adventure into voyeurisms.

I think this sequel gave me everything I loved from Clawson's first book, and more. She has absolutely become and instant buy author for me, and I cannot wait for her to drag me to the Tower of London again.

An interesting nerdy love story. The concept was cool and character development was great. However, the romance fell short for me.

2.5 🌟

Thank you to netgalley for an arc of this book!

The more this book went on the more meh I felt about it unfortunately. I was really interested initially, I really liked Daisy and her struggle in herself and wanting to do more by going to London. I loved the setting being at the tower and her running the Knights summer programme. And where Daisy ended up in the end growing in her confidence, and being more happy with being herself. I guess it was just Teddy that kind of let me down.

Again, being interested in the beginning their banter was great and could definitely see this being a great enemies to lovers. I just don’t really get where they changed to lovers 😂. Like it seemed like they were teasing, he kissed her and then ignored her, then she got fired, then he turns up at her house giving a big declaration and then eventually tells her he loves her? All within such a short period of time I just. I don’t get where it happened. I would’ve really liked it if there was a bit more build up and more scenes of them actually changing their relationship together.

I guess I also expected to see more of Sam, I felt like he would be quite a big character and he was very much a side one. I feel like if he was in London too the story would’ve been more interesting.

Yeah overall, not one I hate by any means just one that I felt could’ve been developed more.

I wasn't sure what to expect of this book at first - it is quite different to any other I have read and is a unique genre, but in the end I found it engaging, moving and heart-warming. The main character's thoughts and feelings are well expressed.

This was such an entertaining read. I loved the characters and the premise, the unabashed nerdiness, the found family (and Daisy’s biological family), and the different settings. As an anxious little nerd myself, I connected so much with Daisy, and I loved watching her grow and come into her own, despite her fears and the setbacks she faced. The story was both touching and laugh-out-loud funny, and I particularly enjoyed the banter between Daisy and Teddy, and their swoony, slow-burn, closed-door romance.

I have a copy of Clawson’s debut, Falling Hard for the Royal Guard, on my Kindle and I’m looking forward to reading it even more now!

I very much enjoyed this one! I loved the anxiety representation in the main character of Daisy. It felt so very relatable to read her experiences. I loved the side characters, especially Daisy’s very fun family dynamics! This story really spoke to me as an older sister, an anxious woman, and a romantically inept adult. I found myself laughing out loud through this book, and tears brimming my eyes too. A good read if you love LARPing, a Royal romance, and stories of self-growth.

This is a fun summer beach read, nothing to taxing and another behind the scenes of the Tower of London as well as an insight into the life of a gamers ( board not computer). It’s a stand alone story but with a cameo from Megans first book characters.

This was a great read, after having read the first one I was eager to read this 2nd one in thus series. It was really good and completely easy to devour in one sitting which I did. My thanks to netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.

Relatable neurodivergent, anxious FMC. Loveable, funny love interest. Lots of family and friend love and acceptance. Brilliant fun with the mix of reality and fantasy and LARPing.

While I loved Falling Hard for the Royal Guard, this one just didn't quite live up to that. I loved Daisy's character but I felt the jump from enemies to lovers happened quite suddenly for me with not enough redeeming characteristics to make up for his arrogance and unkindness.

This was a fun read!

I'll admit, I started reading it because of the cover and title. But it was a good read with great characters and an original storyline.

I'd read it again!

When we meet Daisy, she is spending her time LARPing with her family and working with her dad in his nerd haven shop. After some classic pushing, she goes to work at Tower of London teaching kids to be knights. She’s an anxious homebody who relies on her LARP characters headstrong personality to help her through her day. While working her new job, she meets Teddy, a viscount who seems to push all her buttons. The story that follows is an enemies to lovers, slow burn romance that includes a royal. It’s enjoyable, albeit, a little unbelievable. Mostly they were just rude to each other and then whoops! kiss kiss fall in love.

Thank you to the author and publisher for providing an advanced copy through Netgalley.

This book starts slow but as I got further into it I really liked it. It has quirky characters that you get to see grow through out the book. There is also romance involved.

Thank you #NetGalley for the advanced copy of #LoveatFirstKnight by Megan Clawson in exchange for an honest review.

I really wanted to love this book as it appealed to be on several levels but the story was just lacking. I really didn't believe the romance of it all. I would have preferred Daisy end up with Ellis as their story had the makings of something great. Daisy read as younger than she really was and her actions were irresponsible while working at the camp which didn't fit her character at all.
