After reading and loving Clawson’s debut, Falling Hard for the Royal Guard, I was so excited to get my hands on her second book and it did not disappoint! I found the whole LARPing and “nerdy” premise really endearing and honestly relatable for those of us who didn’t exactly fit in. Also the being scared of leaving your home and all that you know is highly relatable. But look at our FMC! She took the leap and landed herself a viscount (not to be confused with a prince).

If you’ve ever seen the movie The Prince & Me and loved it, you will definitely love this book as it definitely gave similar vibes, just with a nerdier background. The premise is not the same at all, just like the overall feel. I’m loving this royal London/knights niche that Clawson is working with! It’s been fun to read!

Well Megan Clawson has done it again and written a really fun rom com story. I have to admit I was hesitant at first as I didn't really like the main character as she isn't your 'normal' main girl, however by the end you come to love her for her unique quirks and interests. I also loved that again the story was pulled back to the Tower of London and a brief cameo from our main couple in Falling Hard for the Royal Guard.

I just really enjoyed the refreshing plot and has a 'nerdy' hobby included and meant I learnt a bit more about LARPing and the communities that are formed due to it. This book not only has romance but family bonds and ties. Learning to love yourself and never being ashamed to be who you are.

I would 100% recommend this book and it would be a perfect holiday beach read! I am really looking forward to the next novel by this author.

This was a cute enemies to lovers tale with some royal intrigue and a fake knight school at the Tower of London with some LARPing thrown in.

I loved the FMC’s journey in this one. She didn’t let her anxiety win & I liked seeing her come out of her shell. Having a viscount fall in love with her helped too. 😉

I really enjoyed Megan's first book, it was one of the first I reviewed on here, so I was really excited to be invited to read her new book.

Once again Megan's knowledge and Love of the tower of London shone through, which makes it a great book for history and London lovers!

I loved these characters and Magen's writing of them, you can really tell she writes about things that she's familiar with and enjoys. This story was such a sweet story and I loved the vulnerability of the main character, Daisy, and her anxiety issues, Megan delved into this and i enjoyed that it wasn't shied away from.

Overall I enjoyed this book but did prefer her first, however I can't wait to read more from Megan, she writes so beautifully and is very passionate about her stories.

This wasn't my favorite read. I just couldn't get into it. After reading the description, it sounded really interesting, but I guess it just wasn't for me . I am open to trying it again in the future but for right now it just not for me

I really loved the premise of this one. I think I had a difficult time connecting with Daisy and Teddy and buying into their feelings for each other and their romance. The world building outshone the character building in this one. But it was an enjoyable and entertaining read!

I think Love at First Knight by Megan Clawson just wasn't really for me. I could see the appeal, and the issues I had with the book mostly surrounded the romance and romcom-esque writing styles, which might not be an issue for some people. this book follows Daisy Hastings, who comes from a family of LARP-ers (live-action role players), as she starts her new job at the Tower of London's Knight School, a knight-themed summer camp for kids. Here she meets Theodore Fairfax, a disgraced royal relative who she has to work with for the summer. 'Teddy' keeps pulling stunts that get Daisy in trouble, creating a very tense relationship between the two, but inevitably they both start to fall for each other anyway.
The plot itself wasn't too off-putting, but the never-ending medieval puns and metaphors, to describe very simple everyday emotions and thought processes were insanity-inducing. Talking about being willing to bleed for a man to describe your little crush, in a very contemporary romance between two normal people, is crazy. The secondhand embarrassment also goes hard in this one. And not because of Daisy's less-than-mainstream interests, do what you want in your free time. But because of the way these two freaks act around each other. Be normal! And s.t.o.p repeating the same mortifying actions after you embarrassed yourself doing the same thing 10 pages ago.
The book's description is also misleading. A lot less of the plot was about their time at this knight summer camp than it seemed. And honestly, I didn't really mind, it just wasn't what I expected. I will say that I think Daisy's anxiety and self-confidence issues were written very well. I read some very real and hard-hitting thought processes that mirrored my own a little too closely for comfort. But that helped the characters feel more real during this odd storyline.
Overall, I think I am realizing that I am just not built for romcoms. And that's okay. Other people might like this and that's cool. But it simply wasn't my vibe.

This was far too long for what it was.
Some parts that should have been explored were cut short and parts that needed to be short were what felt like 100s pages long.
There was little to no chemistry between this pairing. And I was a bit upset to find it was about 2 completely new characters and not ones we were introduced to in Falling Hard For The Royal Guard as that would have been better as there was some great characters in there that deserved more page time.

This book was overall just flat. I had to convince myself into finishing it to see if it got better and while some parts were good. I feel like I've wasted my time and it could have been 200 pages shorter.

Stated as an Enemies to Lovers closed door romance this had very little in the way of enemies.
It felt more like brother and sister trying to wind each other up.

I loved coming back to the Tower of London in one of Megan‘s book but seeing it from a different perspective.
For me, the story started out a bit slow and it kind of remained unclear for me why Daisy struggled with the relationship with her father. Does he amplify her anxiety and is not mindful of it? It seemed like it.
When Daisy arrived at the Tower we first met Ellis (and I was kind of surprised at the turn that took in the end because that was a little random imo) but it soon becomes clear that there is someone way more interesting for our girl 😏 but oc they need to start of as enemies because this is an enemies x lovers 😂⚔️
The relationship between Teddy and Daisy did not develope in an organic way because for a very long time they kept antagonizing each other with no end. But suddenly this all turned and they were in love? There were definitely a few holes in this love story for me.
But when they were together (especially at the LARP) they were the cutes cutie patooties 💕
In the end, Love at first knight did not hold up the same for me as did Falling hard for the royal guard which was a five star read for me.
I will definitively be reading more of Megan’s books if there are more to come out because I love the atmosphere she creates and the unusual setting the chooses for her books.

Well what can I say normally I don’t read a rom com but because I loved Falling for the royal guard I knew I needed to read this too,

We meet Daisy who is struggling with anxiety of moving,new job and all over things but she’s also a risk taker in some sense when she goes onto the LARPING battlefield. (Lady “A”)

Then you meet the dashing but powerful Viscount Teddy who you find very standoffish and not so very subtle flirty on his part

The progress between Teddy and Daisy made me feel like I’m was a teenager again meeting my first love but apart from loathing each other it’s a slow burn but don’t worry they get there in the end

If you love nerdy romances than this is for you

When she ends up working at the Tower of London at their Knight school and meeting the incredibly annoying and frustrating (but very handsome) Teddy Fairfax, she’s forced to confront herself and discover what’s real and what’s not.

This is such a sweet enemies to lovers rom-com and a brilliant follow up from Megan’s debut Falling Hard for The Royal Guard which I also loved, there’s also a cameo from the characters from the first book which made me smile!

I adored Daisy she was such a relatable character who I was rooting for from page one, she’s shy and nerdy and just everything I love in a book heroine.

Daisy and Teddy were polar opposites but they worked so well together. Both of their characters had depth and you uncover more about both of them and why they are they way they are as you read on and you’ll be desperately rooting for them to get together.

I loved this just as much as the first novel and I can’t wait for the next.

This novel took me a little while to get into. I found myself becoming more engaged at around 35% only for that to drop off again later on.

I feel as though nothing really happened in this book. And I really didn't like Teddy so struggled with the romance also - it felt unrealistic and I feel as though the two main characters had no chemistry. The Ellis plotline didn't really result in much happening - not even jealousy/a revelation to feelings so I struggled to understand the point of it.

It felt to me as though Teddy spent 80% of the book being horrible to Daisy and then the last 20% was a rushed attempt to redeem him. I'm a huge lover of enemies to lovers but the rudeness and selfishness that Teddy expressed to Daisy really did not get redeemed in my opinion.

I really loved the quirky-ness of this book. It was refreshing to see a 'nerdy' but cool character (even if she didn't feel 'cool' in herself at times.)

I also particularly enjoyed the anxiety portrayal and the way this character managed her anxiety. I refreshing look on a seemingly very personal relationship with anxiety and self-confidence/worth.

It's the second book by Megan Clawson and loved both of them.

It's a cute story about Daisy who lives with her family who all love to LARP. She meets viscount Theodore Fairfax at the knightschool in the Tower of London. They're complete opposites but fall in love, lots of banter and a HEA.

This was an entertaining, well-written book. It was fun, sweet and kept me reading. I enjoyed this book and will look for more books by this author.

I really wanted to give this book a shot. I had DNF’d her first book, Falling Hard For The Royal Guard. I wanted to give the second book a fair shot, especially since Megan is a fairly new author. However, I just couldn’t get into this book as much as I wanted. I really enjoyed the nerdy aspect of it and going deep into the world of LARPing. However, there was just something that prevented me from getting fully invested in the main character’s story. I unfortunately couldn’t find myself finishing this book and had to put it away. Megan is a wonderful author, I just couldn’t connect to the plot, which is no fault to her. I may have to try and pick this book back up later in life, but for now it’s just not for me.

I was kindly sent this book as an ARC reader from NetGalley! This story follows Daisy Hastings and Theodore “Teddy” Fairfox. These two characters can’t seem to stay away from one another (not for lack of trying) and end up hating one another (or do they really) I loved the references to the Lord of The Rings and Daisy’s brother Samwise (Samwise Gamgee eat your heart out) is absolutely hilarious. I also love the royal references which I think Megan does really well through her own personal knowledge! The concept of LARPing was a huge factor in this book and I’ve never seen anything quite like it! If you are looking for a quite easy lighthearted read then I would suggest adding this book to your TBR as it releases today!🥳🥳

I adored the premise of this book! A book with LARPing, a chaotic fmc always looking for escape, and a broody mmc. The Tower of London setting is so unique and really drew me in.

The start was fun and engaging but I quickly found myself skimming ahead. Seeing other reviews, I think a lot of people will love this but for right now it's going to be a soft dnf.

I received an ARC via NetGalley and Avon Books UK and am voluntarily leaving a review. This is the first book of the author's that I've read. The book's blurb gives you an idea of what to expect.Love at First Knight is told through Daisy's pov and is a story about self discovery.

CW: anxiety and panic attacks, talks of physical intimacy, a secondary character dated someone of the same sex
Language: cursing, including British swears, and biblical exclamations, including using God's name in vain and a comment about a certain denomination that are offensive
Spice: only kissing that isn't steamy

If you've never experienced the same feelings that Daisy has, then this book may not be enjoyable for you but I think her story was important. Her anxiety had kept her in a safe bubble and I liked seeing her push herself as she took on a new challenge. I liked the moments when her bold side came out and she took charge, which typically ended up happening when she was around Theodore. As a royal, he had a certain attitude that he lived up to and clashed with Daisy. Their banter was fun to read but I would've liked to see more of them as a couple. Aside from them, I enjoyed the relationship that Daisy had with her family and the support that she got from him. I wasn't expecting LARPing to play such a huge role in the story and it was interesting and I'm sure those who love that will love this book.

Let me start off by saying I did actually enjoy this book.. However, I do wish the wow moment for me happened a lot earlier than it did. I started to really enjoy the book around halfway through because thats when the storyline really kicked off. I know the first part of the book was getting to know each character and the start of Daisy's storyline.. but I was slightly confused at what was going to happen.

The Romance in this book was very small and if you need a cute fluffy romance then this is a read I would suggest. Teddy grew on me as the pages went by and when he spoke about who he wanted to be, I felt I understood him in some way. This is an opposites attract book where both main characters a very different.

I have never read a book with some kinda of historical element so this was an interesting read and I did actually learn something whilst reading.
