I got this book for my Christmas holiday because my son just loves bubble teas but as holidays go we didn’t have enough time to check all the Recipes, but the ones we did make, we loved them. We will be buying it and finish the rest of the recipes when he comes back from school.

I got this more for my Bubble tea loving daughter, who loved all the receipes.
This would make the perfect present for anyone and already been brought for daughter's birthday to finish her experimentations.

Such a great book!
The recipes are easy to understand, so I could make some boba drinks for my nephews. I didn't have many of the ingredients because those are expensive where I live but you can do lots with the basics. The illustrations were so cute that my nephews had their fun trying to make theirs too. We had such a great family time!

Could there be a cuter recipe book?! Nope, it's not possible!! This recipe was so adorable and extremely informative. I loved at the tips and tried and test knowledge that the authors included. The drawings were adorable and there was so much thought and detail put into them. The recipes included quite the variety that I think would appeal to many different tastes. I could see this book being a perfect addition to a kawaii/boba themed gift set! Very engaging book!

This cookbook is super cute and colorful! I adored this book and all of the colorful designs. I'm normally not a fan of cookbooks that use art instead of real photos, but this one is an exception. In addition to recipes for drinks, there are also recipes for toppings, jellies and egg pudding.
My only complaint about this book is that it's rather short, and you can probably find similar recipes online for free. But if you're looking for an adorable little boba cookbook than this is for you!
Thank you netgalley for providing me with an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

It's hard to find bubble tea near me so that's what drew me to this book. It's like a treasure chest for bubble tea lovers. It has so many easy recipes with clear instructions and fun pictures. You can make classic milk teas, fruity ones, and even special drinks with ice cream. Plus, it shows how to do everything yourself.

Everything is very easy to follow and the pastel illustrations are an absolute joy! (Wait until you see the super decadent drizzle-type drinks! The one titled "Guilt Trip" is amazing!)
This is such a charming little volume! If you love boba or just want to start making boba treats for your kids, buy this! Worth every cent!

Absolutely the cutest cookbook I have ever seen!
As someone who LOVES milk tea and bobas, this book taught me so much about the different ingredients used in making a good cup of boba.

Honestly, I had no idea so much went into QUALITY bubble tea. This book is adorable but it’s got all the information of a really great bubble tea recipe book. Each step is detailed with multiple recipes.

A very Kawaii guide on how to make your own boba with many different ways to go about it. The art is cute and recipes are very accessible to those who know what they are doing and to those who are just trying it out. Includes how to make tea and boba as well as the equipment needed to get going.

I absolutly love this book! It gives good info on boba and the recipes are great. I love the basic boba recipe. It’s the best I’ve ever had! The illustrations are super cute. This book would make an excellent gift.

Cute book that will be particularly appealing younger audiences. Recipes look delicious although I did not feel compelled to make any of them for myself.
Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This was a fun and easy to follow drawing guide that I have purchased for the Children's section of my library. I really enjoyed the art prompts and look forward to recommending this to patrons!

Kawaii Café Bubble Tea is an adorably cute, graphically appealing tutorial guide with recipes for bubble tea/boba with included recipes by Stacey Kwong & Beyah del Mundo. Content first published in 2020 as Boba, this graphic update and re-release was out 9th Jan 2024 from Quarto on their Rock Point imprint. It's 128 pages and is available in hardcover and ebook formats.
This book is a wonderful resource, especially for fans of bubble tea who find it difficult to source their daily drinks or are thinking about the cost over the long run. Plus it's so much fun to DIY!
It has a nice, easy to follow layout. The introductory chapter and how-to tutorial (~30% of the content) cover the basic hows and whys of the tools, ingredients, and toppings. The following chapters cover the standards: fruit teas, milk teas, and specialty drinks.
Each of the recipes includes an introductory description, ingredients listed in a bullet point sidebar (US measurements with metric/SI units in parentheses *yay*!), step by step instructions, as well a footers with tips and alternatives. The graphics are colorful and very cute (see book cover). The earlier edition had a number of photographs, but this edition has a complete graphic overhaul and the new aesthetic is pastel and kawaii with line drawn illustrations.
The recipe ingredients themselves are (mostly) easily sourced and will be available at well stocked grocery stores. There are a very few ingredients which might be a little more difficult to source, but definitely nothing that is 'way out there'.
All in all, -very- well written, beautifully presented drinks, made from tasty ingredients which are easily sourced and packaged into an adorably appealing format.
Five stars.
Disclosure: I received an ARC at no cost from the author/publisher for review purposes.

I did not get a chance to try any of these recipes but reading through the book I definitely saw some I want to try. They all looked so tasty. Also the book itself was super well designed and cute.

This is a must have if you love bubble tea and you don't mind doing some at home cooking! What I love about this cookbook is the emphasis on using fresh ingredients instead of buying powders, jams, and syrups. There's even a recipe on how to make your own boba! (I wish I had this recipe during my only - and absolute failed - attempt at making boba). The various recipes are easy to follow and have the cutest illustrations. Everything looks so tasty that I want to try them all. There's a lot of customization that you can do as far as using preferred ingredients or making things non-caffeinated or dairy and/or lactose free. I'm planning to get a copy for my library and one for myself!

This was such a wonderful and enjoyable read!!!! I loved this book and highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys this genre. Thank you so much to the publisher and NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is such a cute book, I love the illustrations! Everything is very well explained and I cannot wait to try out all of the recipes.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for the e-copy. The opinion is my own.
First of all totally worth it just for the adorable illustrations. Notably, there are no pictures of the actual results, only illustrations (which, I have to reiterate, are utterly adorable and I wish my drinks would end up like those illustrations).
Now, unfortunately I did not have time to actually do make a drink within the timeframe for this review but I can comment on how the recipe book is structured!
First of all the authors are detailed in the bubble tea process. From equipment needed, to how to brew the tea correctly, how to make a couple of boba recipes, these are all in the first pages of the book
Something I liked to see is that in this recipe book they teach you how to do fruit jams, drinks where to use them, and how to make syrup instead of buying store brand bubble tea syrup (which is awesome because I only see huge bottles of those bottled syrups and that's a waste if you are only making it for yourself).
From then on there are fruit teas, milk teas and even a section called speciality teas.
Finally, the authors included a section on possible toppings and the recipe for two of them.
All in all, wonderful recipe book, honestly worth it if only for the illustrations but the recipes are definitely worth a try.

Not yet familiar with bubble tea? Fear not, after flipping through the pages of this book, you will not only gain valuable information about it, but you will also want to taste all kinds and possibly end up making them yourself—I’m going to as soon as it’s time for a refreshing beverage.
With its kawaii illustrations that give a unique touch to each recipe, this cookbook is truly exquisite! After a brief explanation of the origin of bubble tea/boba, all the basics are covered, from the essential tools for its preparation to how to make some ingredients from scratch, such as simple syrup or brown sugar syrup. But it’s when the tasty recipes appear that we are completely drawn into this delicious world . . . Each is accompanied by an introduction in which the choice of the name is also explained—always an interesting curiosity—and then easy step-by-step instructions are given on how to proceed to recreate the chosen recipe. From fruit tea to jams, to specialty drinks, do you think you can find your favourite among the 60 recipes provided?
A sweet and mouth-watering cookbook. Bubble tea originated in Taiwan in the 1980s, but has become a delicious addiction everywhere and this could be your chance to find out why!
