I am a tea lady, and I am obessessed with bubble tea. Whenever we go to a new place on holiday, I must try their local tea, and am very disappointed if they don’t have one. I have three bubble tea stores near me, and I’m always telling people which one is the best! 🤣 So needless to say as soon as I saw this it was an insta-grab and I read it in like 20 mins and I want a physical copy.

The illustrations in this are GORGEOUS, and the text is really informative! I learnt a lot!! I love non-fiction books that just feel like you’re having a chat with a good friend, and the way that Stacey and Beylah spoke about their love for bubble tea and the passion for their business was just that.
Being lactose-intolerant, I adore and appreciate the fact that they use non-dairy milk in their milk teas! The homemade syrups seem really easy to make too, and I really want to try “Equality” which is a mango and strawberry green tea representative of same-sex marriage equality 🥰

This book is so cute. The illustrations are charming. It makes me want to try making my own bubble tea if the process for making boba wasn’t so time consuming. I appreciate the all natural recipes for the flavorings and syrups.

“Kawaii Café Bubble Tea” by Stacey Kwong and Beyah Del Mundo is a fantastic recipe book on bubble tea. Not only does it have information on how to brew the right tea and a lot of classic bubble tea recipes but homemade sweeteners, jam recipes, non-dairy base options, bubble tea slushies, homemade syrups, ice cream bubble tea recipes, topping choices, and pudding recipes. It is so cute but also has so many great ideas and recipes for a lot of different types of bubble teas. 5 out of 5 stars.

A cute book, but I didn’t like the fact that I could only read a PDF copy on Adobe Digital Editions. Really should enable “send to Kindle”, as ADE does not make for a pleasant reading experience.

Bubble tea is a family favourite in our home and it's something we really needed to learn how to make. This book makes it simple, easy and fun for us to make bubble tea in the future. Also it's illustrated really well and so cute. Our favourite was the pineberry. We also made our own one with pineapple and coconut milk! SOooo good!

Thank you to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group for allowing me to access and review this cookbook.

I thought this was a very interesting cookbook to add to my kitchen because I've heard many good things about Bubble Tea over the years, but have never really been interested in buying it at stores or anything like that. The tapioca pearl thing kind of turned my attention off of a it as well - not to say that it's bad! I've just been picky until recent years.

When it comes to this cookbook though, I have to say I am very pleased with it. The information is easy to take in, and the pictures really help make the whole experience fun and interesting! The designs are sort of inspired by anime themes, which makes sense for the subject.

The book starts you off with the basics, letting you know what kitchen equipment you'll need to get started and some basic information about the history of bubble tea, what it is, as well as what it isn't. The chapters break down as follows -

Fruit & Teas
Classic Milk Teas
Specialty Drinks
Sip N Dips (Ice cream bubble tea!!! Such a great idea.)
Toppings

This is a very well rounded bubble tea cookbook that covers everything you need to know to avoid making mistakes early on and to add some interesting skillsets to your kitchen activity, such as learning how to use fresh fruits and such to make your own jams and syrups! Delicious!

The recipes are great, but it was the art and the art style that made this book so adorable. The recipes are the essentials of boba but also weren't too complicated to make.

The art is incredibly cute and the rescues are fun and easy to follow. Everything is simple enough to follow and laid out very well. There’s so many I want to try, I’ve got to get a physical copy for myself once it comes out!

"Kawaii Café Bubble Tea" by Stacey Kwong and Beyah del Mundo was far more detailed than I had expected.

The front cover gives an impression of it being for kids, but it's written by two geeks who know their stuff and love sharing detailed and informative recipes.

The recipes are easy to follow.

I came for the drawings and ended up learning a lot about how to make bubble tea.

As a boba lover, I really enjoyed this book and discovered new ideas I can't wait to try. I like how they also talk about their journey with MILK+T and it made me feel like I was discovering more and more of the story with each recipe.
They really give you all the information you need to be able to make boba from scratch (making the tea, boiling store bought or making your own tapioca pearls, making jams and syrups and toppings) with many colorful and fun recipes with super cute drawings of each one . I was afraid they will suggest using powders as I've seen some boba shops doing so, and I am so glad they proved me wrong!
Each recipe has 3 options for the sweetness level which is a great bonus. The recipe for tea and slushie are wrote as one, just pointing the different steps for each, which may be a bit confusing for some people, but apart from that they are easy to follow.
Another bonus for me was using both metric and imperial measurements
In conclusion, if you want to make your own boba at home, even if you don't have any kind of experience, this book is simply great.
