I’ve read a few books by Anya Mora now and have enjoyed the majority of what I have read and would definitely reccomend her books, however the little girl I always wanted wasn’t my favourite of her books, I found myself being left with the feeling that something is missing.
Annie and Terry have welcomed their adopted daughter Jubilee into there home. Everything seems perfect until one night Jubilee hears the wrong part of a private conversation and disappears into the night.
The police are called and fears soon mount over Jubilees disappearance as there have been a string of kidnappings (5 altogether) within the area and everyone starts to fear Jubilee could be the kidnappers latest victims.
When the body of Leah is found (Annie and terrys son Josh’s girlfriend) and one of the girls who was kidnapped Josh is determined to find the person behind the kidnappings and bring them to justice. And until they are caught everyone must hope that Jubilee isn’t their latest victim.
About half way through this book I was convinced I had worked out who the kidnappers were, but I was completely wrong and wouldn’t have guessed who it was in a million years.
Compared to other abduction and missing children thrillers I’ve read this one seemed to lack a fair amount of detail and the family didn’t react to how I’d expect a family of a missing child to. For example Annie was still able to sleep, cook nice meals for her family and this just didn’t seem to sit right with me, she’d be going out of her mind and sick with worry in the real world and how could Terry go back to work just a couple of days after his adopted daughter has gone missing.
I also felt there was a lack of basic police procedures for a missing child it all seemed very basic and a little under researched. That being said I did find this book easy to read and it wasn’t the worst book I’ve ever read and with a bit more research and more depth it could be a great read.
Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and the author for an advance copy of this book in exchange for this review.

This is the third book I’ve read by this author and while it wasn’t my favorite, it was still a great read. I didn’t expect the ending. Thanks for the opportunity to read this book before it’s published and I look forward to reading more books from this author.

I deliberated so long about how to rate this book, and came to 2 stars, which I don't like doing. I have never read anything by this author, and as I was deliberating, I looked at her other books and see they are rated highly. This was a total miss with me.
Josh and Annie have 5 children who are growing up. One has already left to serve in the military. Annie is a star at home mom who home schools and whose entire life revolves around her children, her husband and church. So, as the youngest is getting older, she feels the need to adopt. Her and Josh adopt a little girl, Jubilee who is 9 and has been in foster care. Jubileee overhears her new parents talking and feels like she is a burden to them so she runs away.
In this meantime, 5 local girls have gone missing over the years, the most recent is the best friend and love of her son. So when they cannot find Jubilee, they their newly adopted daughter has been taken.
The writing is stilted and juvenile. The family speaks to each other in the dialogue like robots, such as Look at what I have found. Is not it nice, and didn't flow nicely. Annie was over the top with her actions. She annoyed me to no end. 2 days after the daughter is missing, shes still making meals and feeding the family and sleeping at night. The husband stays home for a day, then is off, back to work. The ending was not shocking to me, I saw it coming a mile away. I am going to try another of her books as this just may have been one that didn't resonate with me.
Thank you to Joffee Books and Netgalley for the ARC. I greatly appreciate it. I do not recommend this book.

An addictive read about motherhood, secrets, kidnap and betrayal. I could hardly put it down and was shocked at the ending, never would have guessed! Loved it!

Wow! Iread it in one session,m I literally couldn’t put it down till the end. I didn’t expect a thriller to be fulled of so much love: love between a mother and her children, and love between a boy and a girl, a love that not even death can put. An end to.

Great book! Again! I'm not sure how it works but every Joffe book I read is always one of my top favorite! Lol This book had it all! It had suspense, intrigue, action, murder, child kidnapping, A great who done it, great plot twist and some crazy twists and turns! The storyline was very interesting and had me glued to my Kindle! I highly recommend reading this book as it was well worth reading! I thoroughly enjoyed reading this one! Thank you Netgalley and Joffe books for sharing this book with me!

I really enjoyed reading this book! It kept me guessing through the whole thing, and the ending was great. It wasn't what I had been expecting, and I thought it was so good!

The first time I have read this Author. I enjoyed the style of writing. A solid four star read. Great premise. Good characters. Page turner. Plenty of suspense to keep me guessing Would definitely read the next novel. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the chance to
