I loved this book. I received this as an arc from NetGalley and was not pressured for a positive review, but I bought a copy for my grandson before I even finished it. It has pirates, monsters and magic. The author does a good job of explaining life on board a ship and the jobs for the sailors. There are also some very good lessons slipped into the story--some that all of us sometimes have trouble following. There will be a sequel, and I can't wait. Perfect for a read aloud to small children and for children fourth grade and above to read for themselves. The silliness and magic will appeal to everyone.
A middle-grade adventure that takes young readers on a thrilling journey alongside the fearless and lovable pirate, Harry. With a heart as big as his beard, Harry leads his crew on an epic quest to avenge a lost crew and confront an evil, man-eating kraken. This story is a perfect blend of adventure, humor, and magic, making it an engaging read for kids and parents alike. Harry and The Kraken is a fantastic introduction to Harry's magical universe, and it's sure to leave young readers craving more of his exciting adventures.
