This is full of practical advice across a variety of topics for the postpartum experience. I wish I'd had this with my first pregnancy because it would have been even more helpful then. I particularly liked the last chapter where I broke down ideas for what self-care could look like at specific weeks postpartum.

From the introduction, the author grabs you with her voice of authenticity and non-judgment as a seasoned mother and Nurse Midwife. Postpartum care is often an overlooked area in maternal health and it is absolutely crucial that women are informed on what to expect in the weeks following childbirth, because unfortunately birthing people often have to be their own advocates. As a certified postpartum doula myself, I think this book is an excellent source of information for any expectant parent.
