❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ out of 5
If you are looking for the perfect bite sized Christmas read then this is it! It’s brothers best friend where they have both been secretly pining for each other for years. Oh and did I mention the heroine’s name is Christmas??!
Our heroine shows up on the hero’s door step to escape a stalker. Our hero takes her in (after secretly being in love with her for years) and swears to help her and keep her safe. Will their forced proximity lead to them both acting on their feelings?
Cynthia Eden weaves the perfect amount of suspense into this book while keeping it light and steamy at the same time. The perfect little Christmas read (and this comes from someone who doesn’t like Christmas).
I received an ARC of this book from NetGally in exchange for an honest review.
I have never read a Christmas book before that was suspenseful, so it was fun to try something different. I enjoyed this book a lot!
What a great holiday romantic suspense! Loved it. When Christy has to run from a stalker, there’s only one place she can go with her brother out of town, her brothers best friend! What she didn’t expect was the hot man that answered the door!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own
I love holiday novellas and this one was wonderful. I loved Wyatt and Christy and the perfect dash of suspense. Highly recommend for those looking for a fun and quick read.
I volunteered to read and review an advanced readers copy of Waiting For Christmas through Net Galley . I really enjoyed reading this story . It's full of suspense and sexy , smoking moments .
Wyatt Roth has been in love with his best friend's sister Christmas "Christy " Sharpe since he was a teenager . Wyatt is sure he's dreaming when around 1:00 am she comes knocking at his door . Unfortunately she's not there for a booty call she is scared and needs his protection . Things soon amp up both with their feelings and the danger . Wyatt will do anything to protect the women he loves even if it's giving up his life . This story is full of suspense romance and intrigue . I highly recommend taking the time to read .
This book is like a spicy lifetime Christmas movie.
This was a very quick read easily done in a couple hours and I really enjoyed it! The characters were great (Wyatt was my personal favorite). I don’t think I’ve read a book with a doctor that was special ops and I think it worked well for this story. I enjoyed the suspense a lot I kinda knew where the story was going but I was still surprised a long the way. It was also refreshing to have a brother that wasn’t mad for too long once he realized how serious they were about each other. I think the story was the perfect length and I was invested the whole time. I think the pacing was great. I do wish we had a little bit more relationship building or more details on their past because it definitely gave instalove vibes (nothing wrong with that) I would’ve just liked to see what made them fall for each other. Overall I enjoyed the book and would definitely recommend it to anyone that wants a quick Christmas read!
This was a great, quick read. I love the brothers best friend trope. Set at Christmas? Just about perfect! Wyatt has had a crush on his best friends older sister Christy for as long as he can remember, and one night she comes to him for help. Christy is being stalked, and with her brother out of town, she turns to Wyatt for help. This story was fast paced and the romance was hot! Definitely worth reading.
I was really excited to read a romantic suspense novel centered around the Christmas holiday, but WAITING FOR CHRISTMAS was pretty standard romantic suspense formula and not much more.
Insta love
Heroine in danger
High steam/low plot
Sometimes this author really works for me, but this book was kind of meh.
𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗔𝗠 𝗟𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗟: Rated R / 2-4 descriptive sex scenes, may have harsh language.
𝗧𝗥𝗜𝗚𝗚𝗘𝗥𝗦: stalker, past death of parents
𝗙𝗘𝗘𝗟𝗦: 2/5 - A bit of drama, but still a pretty light read.
If you’re looking for a suspenseful holiday romance, this Novella would be a great call! Christmas “Christy” is running for her life and her brother’s best friend is waiting to save her. Wyatt, a former special forces officer will do anything to protect Christy. As they find their way to each other, you get to see both fierce and soft aspects of their relationship! I absolutely adored the way Wyatt was all about her and all in. For a Novella length story, I felt this was very well done!
Dive in and fall in love with Wyatt and Christy. It's funny, sexy, suspenseful, and full of heart. This is one of my go to authors for romantic suspense! I read it in one sitting. Couldn't put it down.
I have never read a Christmas novella before, but this was just what I needed to mindlessly unwind at the end of the day. It had all the drama, all the alpha male “touch her and die” vibes and let’s not forget, all of the spiccccce. I am a total sucker for a little “my best friends sister” and I appreciated the MMC and the MFC having a history and knowing each other before off paper. It kept it from being the usual insta love found in many novellas, which really added to the story!
There was definitely a lot of action packed into those 100+ pages and honestly, I was living for it. I think there definitely needs to be more Christmas “short stories” like this one. (Are there already? Am I missing out?) Either way, I was a big fan!
Thanks to NetGalley & Hocus Pocus Publishing for providing an eARC!
This was my own fault really, I see Christmas Romance and I hop into it without any other thoughts. And saying Hot Holiday Romance?? I was sold.
Waiting for Christmas is a holiday romance novella that also manages to cram doctor romance, special operatives romance, "brother's best friend" trope, and a stalker plot all into less than 200 pages. So, if you like darker romances and want something for the holiday season, then maybe this is for you.
I really prefer to see the building of a relationship, and unfortunately that can't really be delivered in a novella trying to do so many other things.
This book had so much potential: Brother's Best Friend? Check. Stalker? Check. Christmas Vibes? Check. Spice? Triple Check.
But it just fell flat for me. I think if it would have been a full length novel, it would have been amazing, but as a novella it didn't work. The pacing was much too fast, and there was too much information and at the same time, not enough information. It felt really rushed to me. I hope in the future it gets turned into a full novel because the story could be fantastic.
A somewhat shorter holiday read, but still packed with everything you want including hot romance, action, engaging characters, humor and a story that will keep you wondering what’s next? Christmas “Christy” Sharpe arrives at her long-time friend Dr. Wyatt Roth’s home. She is on the run from an obsessed man, who she briefly dated, and believes he broke into her home. She is scared! Wyatt is shocked when Christy arrives at his home and enraged when he finds out what has happened to her. He will call in some favors and eliminate the threat. Christy, along with her brother Forth, have been his friends for years, but she has always wished for more with Wyatt. He has also wanted to be more than friends with Christy, but has accepted any relationship with her. Now he doesn’t hesitate to let her know how deep his feelings are for her. He doesn’t know how Forth will take this change in their relationship, but she is his. He is not only a surgeon, but a member of SOST, a Special Ops Surgical Team and is more than capable of protecting her, even with his life. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (paytonpuppy)
Nobody was waiting until Christmas in this story. Christy is totally blind sided to find out that Wyatt has been in love with her forever. Wyatt doesn't wait to tell her how he feels when she showed up on his doorstep needing help. He does way more than protecting her. I really enjoyed reading, Waiting For Christmas.
Loved it!
Sweet, sexy, action packed, emotional and endearing. All elements to a great story wrapped up in a beautiful Christmas package.
I voluntarily read an advanced copy.
This had a promising plot but I feel like it lacked so much. Mostly lacked pace and more info. It was headed in the right direction but then it took a left turn. Honestly, I think this book would've been a five star for me if the 2 characters had started getting closer little by little but it just went from a good walk to a full on run. But even a small skip or jog would've worked but it just went from childhood friends to a basically lets get married relationship. Rushing into things sometimes makes the story less believable. I wanted to see the chemistry between them and feel those butterflies but I didn’t really get any of that. The ending also left me a little like that’s it? Hmmmm. Love this author, but this book wasn’t for me.
Christmas came early...in the form of Wyatt
Ack! I got an early Christmas present this year in the smokin' hot, utterly delectable Wyatt. He's a doctor, a soldier, and has been crushing on Christy (Christmas) his best firends sister, since he was fifteen and she was sixteen. Though he is only a year younger than Christy, she never noticed Wyatt has all grown up in the very best ways. He's dedicated to Christy, protective, totally in love with her and would do and does do anything and everything for her. I want a Wyatt under the Christmas tree, pretty please.
Loved this break neck paced novella, that is sweet, funny and super steamy with a light dollap of suspense.
Highly recommend.
Waiting For Christmas was a fast-paced, Christmas suspense romance. Loved Wyatt's alpha male-ness. The spice was good, but I reallllyy needed an epilogue for this book. I also really want Axel's, Finn's, and Forth's stories.
Thank you to Netgalley for this advanced reader's copy.
