"God's love is perfect, even in the dark times."

Boo Kingston rescues people but she can't rescue herself. She desires to stay to herself so no one can ever hurt her again. She exists to do her job.
Oaken Fox is a successful country music singer songwriter who just wants to be away from everyone. He believes that whoever gets near to him is bound to be hurt. And it happens again confirming his belief.
What an excellent start to a new and exciting series written by Susan May Warren. Set in the wilds of Alaska the story has a wonderful cast of characters. The two main characters, Boo and Oaken are drawn together with Air Rescue One as their meeting place. It could Boo's saving grace and Oaken's hope for redemption. They need to get past anger, fear, pain and deep regret. While they are battling their own problems, someone else is in danger of losing their life.
I received the advanced reader's copy of the book from the publisher through NetGalley. It's a five-star adventure and wild ride in my opinion. I can hardly wait for the next story in this promising series.

One Last Shot just may be my favorite Susan May Warren book to date! I enjoyed this story from start to finish. The romance, action, mystery, and faith message were all so well done.

I really enjoyed everything about this story! The romance between Oaken and Boo was perfect! I loved their chemistry. The action had me holding my breath and turning the pages as fast as I could. I enjoyed the mystery and was totally surprised at who the villain was. The faith thread was prominent throughout and felt natural to the story.

This story is full of action, romance and faith that will keep you turning the pages long into the night. You don’t want to miss it. The blurb about book two, One Last Chance, has me hooked already. I can’t wait till it’s out!

I received a complimentary copy of this story. All opinions are my own. The faith thread is prominent throughout. 5 stars!

My thoughts: One Last Shot is Ms. Warren's latest and it is a page turner. I didn't want to put this book down. Boo is reserved, cautious, and relateable, and Oaken is a star who lives big. They'd both been targeted on social media and their names run through the mud, but all they can do is live with it. Or is it? I enjoyed this book so much i want to go back and read it again. Recommended. I was given a copy free and all opinions are my own.

This book absolutely delivers! I loved this action packed romantic adventure from Susan May Warren. Alaska has long been a favorite setting of mine for suspense stories and I was so excited that this book would be taking place in its wild and unpredictable landscape! The characters in this book were great and I genuinely liked them all! The team dynamics worked so well and there were plenty of naturally occurring dangerous moments due to the nature of their jobs to bring excitement to the pages. The romance between Boo and Oaken was slow building in the best way! I was rooting for this couple! I would absolutely recommend this one to suspense or romance readers! It was enjoyable and entertaining and a great read!

"There's the story we create and the story we're created for. Maybe that's what this adventure is all about."

I've read quite a few of Susan May Warren's books and every new release is like a breath of fresh air, filled with fast-action adrenaline, heart-stopping romance, and soul-edifying spiritual truths. And I do so love how her characters from previous series overlap and weave themselves into new plots, triggering nostalgia while diving headfirst into a new and exciting adventure.

We're back in Alaska for this series and it was fun to hang out with the Kingstons while getting to know their cousin Boo from Minnesota. Boo, with her mad survival skills and EMT instincts, is hiding from social media and the fiasco that upended her life while rescuing people with the newly formed Alaska Air One Rescue team. Oaken is a charming country music star needing some reality TV show time to boost his image on social media. Of course, accidents, unpredictable Alaskan weather, and meddling friends and co-workers turn both of their lives upside down and it's truly a rollercoaster ride physically and emotionally from the beginning to the end for Boo and Oaken.

It was also fantastic getting to know Moose, the head of the rescue team, in this book. Though the next book sounds like it will be about his brother Axel, Moose had some great spiritual advice for Oaken throughout the book. I can't wait for his story!

If you enjoy romantic suspense with great faith thread, this book is a must-read. I received a complimentary copy courtesy of Revell via Interviews & Reviews and was under no obligation to post a positive comment. All opinions are my own.

Readers who like action packed stories will enjoy this first book in the new Alaska Air One Rescue series. The dramatic rescues in icy blizzards are mind boggling. The back stories of Boo and Oaken will pull at reader's heartstrings. Faith and forgiveness in a running theme throughout. Looking forward to the next in the series.

One Last Shot is the first book in a new series by Susan May Warren, Alaska Air One Rescue. Boo Kingston is a new member of the team, an EMT proving her expertise is worthy to be in Alaska on the Search and Rescue team. She loves her new job but is also trying to forget her past from a reality survival show. Oaken Fox is a country music star trying to live down a bad mistake from his past. Circumstances throw them together as Oaken becomes a reluctant member of the air rescue team. There is a lot of intense action as they are called out to rescue people in precarious situations. In the process, they learn the value of trust, second chances, and faith. I am delighted to start this new series and cannot wait for the next book! There is also a crossover with a couple others of her series, which is always fun!

One Last Shot is an intense, action-packed, and emotional story of Boo and Oaken, and the Air One Rescue team. Between various rescue missions and dealing with fall-out of previous poor decisions/impulsive acts, Oaken learns to be part of the rescue team, and Boo and Oaken learn to trust and move past their mistakes. They also learn that faith will help them in that journey. The story is complex and gripping, and details of the various rescues was fascinating. I’m excited for the next book in this series! (And if you’ve read the Sky King Ranch series, there’s a fun connection to this series).
