Another brilliant book from Robert Bryndza in the Erika Foster series. The quality of Robert’s writing never diminishes . From the brilliant first book the Girl in the Ice through to Lethal Vengeance, the plots are complex and dark . Erika’s personality has become less troubled but she is still feisty and determined. I couldn’t stop reading it …excellent.

A Politician is found dead, naked, bound and gagged with masking tape, a terrified look on his face. Erika is forced off the case, and the death is ruled as natural causes. (!!!!????)
Case was closed, but soon, there is a similar death, of a star footballer, and Erika flouts her superior's rules and links the death of the politician and the footballer.

This is the third book I have read by Robert Bryndza, and he does not cease to amaze me. His writing is fantastic, and the characters are well developed.
Of course, there is a female lead, and that definitely is a draw card in my opinion!
The team that Erika has is superb, each doing a good job, with Erika intent on getting the murderer despite the limits set by 'the powers that be'.
I like Erika, she is gutsy and refuses to play by the rules. She is also not a young, naive character, and has experience behind her.
I hope there are more Erika Foster books in the future, I need to catch up and read the seven books in the series before "Lethal Vengeance".

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book.

Lethal Vengeance, book #8 in Erika Foster series, might be the best one Robert Bryndza has written so far!

The book is set 4 years after the last one, which means that Erika recently turned 50! However, she is still her brilliant authentic self who speaks her mind no matter who she is talking to, and I love her for it.

In Lethal Vengeance, Erika and her team investigate a couple of murders of high-profile individuals found naked and hog-tied.

Even though this book is part of a series, it can be easily read as a standalone. Very gripping and easy to get absorbed in, this is a 5 star read I highly recommend.

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and author for this eARC.

I'll start by saying this is one of my best reads for 2023 and in my opinion Lethal Vengeance is the best book so far in the Detective Erica Foster series by Rob Bryndza.

The book gets off to the best start with a death and Foster is unhappy that the case is given to another officer. Months later another victim is found with similar injuries and Foster and her team investigate. This is such a well written book that flows seamlessly and moves from past to present time lines with ease. Rob Bryndza certainly knows how to engage with his readers - I thoroughly enjoyed his latest Erica Foster book and felt like I was hanging onto every word and desperate to know what would happen next! Despite having restrictions put onto her investigation Foster is tenacious, determined and leaves no stone unturned in bringing the killer to justice. I love being back in Erica's world and really liked the small glimpses into her home and personal life which I think round out her character and give her more depth. The plot line is very well thought out, and executed brilliantly. The tension and suspense Rob Bryndza creates and brings into his writing is second to none, for me this makes for a very moreish read which at times I struggled to put down. The story is fast paced and I loved every single story thread that grabbed my attention and interest all the way through and certainly kept me guessing. Lethal Vengeance races to an ending with most threads tied up and those that aren't I hope will be resolved in the next book.

If you're a fan of this series I can't recommend this book highly enough. Rob Bryndza has definitely upped the ante here with his story telling and I loved everything about this latest book and can't fault it. BEST BOOK SO FAR IN SERIES AND ONE OF MY TOP READS THIS YEAR

5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

When Detective Erika Foster finds politician Neville Lomas naked, hog-tied, and dead in his own bed, skittish higher-ups at the Met quickly rule the death from natural causes. Case closed . . . until two months later when a well-known casting director and a star footballer are found murdered and tied with the same knots. The Met can no longer ignore what’s staring them in the face: there’s a serial killer loose in London, and they’re out to settle a score.

I have followed this series since the very beginning and will continue to follow Erica Foster and the team for any future books Robert Bryndza writes. Erica Foster is one of my favourite characters and in this book we also follow more of her personal life as well as that of a Detective, I love her. She is strong, will push boundaries to achieve results and is absolutely dedicated to finding justice for the victims. She fights the hierarchy in the force and as she tells them, she gets results.

I think this is the best book so far in the series, the story is complex, dark and totally engaging. I picked it up late at night and kept reading until the early hours as I became totally engrossed in the story. I cannot recommend this book highly enough and can't wait for the next book. I read recently that Robert said he will continue to write this series while readers continue to enjoy the books and I will definitely continue to support his journey.

Thank you to Netgalley, the author and publisher for an advanced copy. All opinions are my own.

Lethal Vengeance is the latest novel in the DI Erika Foster series. It’s billed as gripping, tense and impossible to put down and o completely agree. I was hooked from page one and completely enthralled from start to finish. Erika and her team are investigating some high profile murders across London. The killer leaves no CCTV and no fingerprints, just Polaroid photos and as Erika and her team attempt to track them down they find those high up in the police and government are trying to silence them. But as usual Erika is determined to catch her killer no matter what. Thank you to NetGalley, Raven Street Publishing dvd the author for the chance to review.

Fast paced, compulsive, addictive and the best Erika Foster book yet!
The team is faced with what seems like an impossible case where there are five perpetrators that all look identical. As well as that the victim is a high profile member of Parliament.
The case is taken out of Erika’s teams hand’s and cause of death is quickly ruled inconclusive. But when a famous footballer is found murdered in a style that is exactly the same state as the politician, Erika knows the two cases are connected and carried out by the same person.
As the body count rises the team battle around the clock to find a very clever serial killer who is always one step ahead.
This has to be my favourite Erika Foster novel so far. The writing is effortless and glides across the pages and the storyline flows keeping you turning the pages late into the night.
It is a definite must read for fans old and new. If like me you have read all of the other books in the series then you will already know you are in for a real treat, but if this is your first introduction to the series, this book works just as well as a standalone, and you will soon be hooked!
Lethal Vengeance by Robert Bryndza will be published on 8 Feb 2024 and is available to pre order now

First of all, yay for a new Erika Foster book!! I am a long time fan of this series and it always exciting to have a new book to devour. This is book 8 in this series but it can easily be read as a stand alone. I have no doubt though, that you will want to go back and read the other 7 books as they are all amazing.

Lethal Vengeance..just brilliant. High profile murders across London that Erika and her team have linked to be the same killer. A smart killer who leaves no fingerprints, no CCTV. The more the team look, the darker these murders become. Why these people? Erika has to deal with the top brass trying to silence her, as well as government departments not wanting details to get out. Of course. Erika being who she is does what she wants, when she wants.

I couldn’t have loved this book more. It had me hooked and wanting more with every page. A truly engrossing book and I am ready for book 9 already. Published on February 8th, he this on your TBR now..

As a huge fan of this series, I was really excited to see where the story would go next and this was another fantastic addition and read.
Robert Bryndza's books are always ones that I can't put down and this was no different. It had me hooked until the very last page.
Erica is 100% my favourite fictional detective - she's so feisty and not afraid to go against the rules or grain.
Whether you've read the whole series or not, I can see so many people enjoying this.
Another thrilling story, so much so that I devoured in less than 48 hours.
Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

It is so good to be back with Erika and the team. Even though she always has the most heinous of crimes to solve, it does make for a thrilling experience.

The killings in this case are particularly horrific and turned my blood cold. Erika though has to fight to be part of it with the victims being high profile and there is a lot of pressure from above. In some ways Erika can be a bit of a loose cannon and doesn’t always follow the rules but there is no doubting she is good at what she does. It will have you questioning the powers of above and I wasn’t sure if this was one case that they might not get the right result.

The web that the author weaves is deliciously dark where you aren’t sure what to expect. Each chapter held a new surprise and I was glad that Erika has members of her team that she can trust as believe me, you won’t know who is trustworthy in this story! I loved how the investigation centres around five women who are very similar and how the team start to unravel clues. It made it even more exciting.

Lethal Vengeance is every bit as good, if not more so, than the other books in this series. The tangled web of lies and secrets held my attention throughout. The sense of danger is there on every page turned with plenty of shocks and surprises right up until the very last page! Cleverly plotted, with the pacing never dropping for one moment, makes this a brilliantly exhilarating read that will have you racing through the pages. Loved it!

I would like to thank netgalley and the publisher for an advance copy in exchange for an honest review. I have been a fan of Robert Bryndza and Erika Foster since the books first came out. Erika is always in top form doing whatever needs to be done to catch the criminal while still trying to have a personal life and relationship. This time we follow Erika and her team while they try to find out if multiple high profile murders are connected and the million dollar reason, why? An interesting read from start to finish, can't wait for the next one.

Lethal Vengeance is not my first book by this talented author but it is my first in the DI Erica Foster series. This is a brilliant suspenseful read, the characters are well described and a storyline that is page turning and exciting.
Not only does Erica and her team have a number of murders to solve she is also up against government interference and senior officers determined to undermine her.
I never felt I needed to of read the previous books but now looking forward to starting this series from the beginning. An absorbing page turning crime thriller that I devoured in a couple of days.
My thanks to net galley and publisher for the opportunity to review this book honestly.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for my copy of this book.

I think most importantly-yay! We’ve been waiting for this instalment for what feels like forever. It did not disappoint and I for one am desperate for more!

Erika and team investigate the death of a famous footballer. They quickly link it to two other murders. Somebody wants to scare them off and does not want this case solved.

Loved it! Tiny details are teased out. I couldn’t put it down. I really like that Erika is not your typical heroine. She doesn’t play by the rules and she’s not good with relationships when involved in her work. However that’s why I like her so much. She’s very relatable.

Highly recommend both this book and the whole series.

Thank you NetGalley and Raven Street Publishing for the copy of Lethal Vengeance by Robery Bryndza. Another blockbuster Erika Foster book! This is one of my favorite series, and I love that while there are plenty of police work details, we also learn more about Erika and her life. As usual, the writing just drew me in, and it was hard to put the book down. The story was intriguing and well-paced and it’s always refreshing with this youth-obsessed society to have a main character who is middle-aged and has a vibrant, exciting life. Start this series if you haven’t yet, because it gets better and better!

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐️⭐️ (4/5 stars)

In Robert Bryndza's "Lethal Vengeance," the eighth book in the Erika Foster series, Detective Erika faces a complex case of serial murders targeting London's elite. Initially dismissed as natural, politician Neville Lomas's death unravels into a chilling pattern. As Erika investigates, CCTV footage reveals identical female suspects, and a secretive sex worker holds crucial information. Racing against time, Erika must uncover the connections between victims and expose the extent of the scandal while navigating the powerful forces protecting their own.

While the political aspects slightly detracted from my personal enjoyment, I couldn't deny the gripping nature of "Lethal Vengeance." Robert Bryndza's storytelling prowess remains evident, making it a compelling read that was difficult to set aside. Despite my nuanced preferences, the book deserves a solid 4-star rating. Special thanks to NetGalley for providing an advanced copy in exchange for this honest review, and I eagerly anticipate Bryndza's future releases.

So many books and so little time. That is they only explanation I can give as to why I have not read every book in this series.

I love thriller or crime series with strong female detectives and if they are stubborn and rebel because they are so determined to solve the cases they are working on, I love them even more. If there is one thing that cannot be said about Erika Foster, it's that she is not a fighter and when she is wrong, she does not have a problem apologising for the mistake she has made.

One thing is certain, Erika and her team are looking for one clever killer, one who is cool as a cucumber and very sharpwitted.

The police, child well fare and other instances should protect victims and when they fail to do so, some people feel the need to seek justice for either themselves or loved ones. I can see where they are coming from and I do understand that this injustice can flip the switch in the wrong direction.

This is another great book by this author. I am sure you will love it as much as I did. 5 stars

Thank you

Erika is back is this book, she is a highly competent detective, not always bowing down to authority, which is trying to undermine/stop her efforts in a controversial, that gets more complicated as it links to other cases as the book goes on. smart, interesting and fairly fast paced with a smart killer as well and the opening for the next part of the story. Worth the read
