Steamy with a solid plot? First Ali hazelwood book for but and it will not be my last. The characters were enjoyable and the dynamics were fun and I couldn’t stop reading!

OH MYYYY THIS BOOK! Instant 5 stars for my first paranormal book. It was so addictive I read it so quickly and loved every second. I love Ali Hazelwood’s writing and this book confirmed that for me even more.
I loved the MMC and FMC separately and together. This book was truly an awakening for me thank you to Little, Brown Book Group UK for an early copy of this book!!!

Bride was my first read by Ali Hazelwood (yes I know I am late to the party, but better late than never!) and I must admit, it left a lasting impression. This paranormal romance captivated me from the start with its intriguing plot and skillful execution.
The story follows Misery, a Vampyre coerced into an arranged marriage with an Alpha Were, Lowe. The ensuing narrative unfolds with a compelling mix of drama, suspense, and undeniable chemistry between the protagonists. Hazelwood masterfully portrays Misery's sharp wit and Lowe's unwavering resolve, creating a dynamic and engaging dynamic.
I really enjoyed the seamless integration of supernatural elements and romantic tension demonstrates her adeptness as a storyteller.
This story offers a captivating journey into a world where love and destiny collide in unexpected ways.

Thanks so much to Netgalley and Little, Brown Book Group for giving me an eArc copy for this book in exchange for my honest review.
This is not the first book I’ve read by Ali Hazelwood, as we all know I’m obsessed with her writing. This was one of my most anticipated reads for the year so far, and it lived up to everything I was hoping for.
Bride focuses on Misery, a Vampyre who is forced into a marriage of convenience to a Were she's never met… but not just any Were. The Alpha. You find out this isn’t the first time Misery has been given over to the enemies of her kind, but she has a reason this time. And that is to find her best friend, Serena.
Marriage of convenience, guys falls first, fated mates?? What more you could you ask for.
The story line kept me reading until early hours of the morning and I could not put this down. It was an easy to read paranormal romance and cannot wait to see more from this world. It was nice to see Ali in the paranormal genre and go in a little bit of a different direction.
I loved Misery’s funny and sarcastic banter, and she was easily my favourite character. Also watching her start from being so guarded and get worn down by a 6 year old was pretty great. Lowe was also such a great male character, even though we didn’t get to see much from his point of view, the few quotes we did see show hard and fast he fell for Misery as soon as she came into his life.
Would 100% recommend this to any romance readers out there, and it’s out on the 6th February!

It was clearly recognisable as a Ali Hazelwood book, which is good. I found it has two parts. In congruence with the title and the cover, for more than the first half of the book it is about Misery's story: a young lonely IT-genius vampire, who has grown among humans and doesn't fit within her species. We learn about her past and how she's coping with her present circumstances and it is quite interesting. I kept forgetting it was actually a fantasy book. But at some point, it feels like the author remembered that she was actually writing a romantasy and there needed to be more romantic and sexual action. And that's when - from my point of view - the main character got blurred and the story lost interest. Still, always a pleasure reading about intelligent women. An idea for the next book: let's dispense with the sex first and then concentrate on the story and the characters.

second book read in 2024, second 5⭐️
I'll need 5-7 business days to recover, I already want to do a reread
Ali Hazelwood never misses, this book is amazing, I love them so much, the tension between Lowe and Misery was so great I could feel it in the air. I basically cried like three times and I wanted to throw my kindle
out of a window once or twice, cause I felt so many emotions reading it. I just love this book, couldn't put it down, since the beginning I was immidiately hooked and invested in the story and romance. I didn't even want to go to sleep, cause I needed to read more. This book has literally my favorite micro trope and THERE WAS BLOOD DRINKING SHSJJSJSJSKSK
I will read anything Ali Hazelwood writes and begging on my knees for a book abt people from epilogue.
"Do we have another interspecies brawl?" I ask. Moreland shakes his head. "Just some idiot who drank too much."
"Not from a Were, I hope.

When I read this book I was really in the mood for a vampire/werewolf early 2000s vibes book. This delivered exactly that in the best way and I was loving the whole thing. The characters were all perfectly loveable (or hateable) and I was invested in all of their stories. On thing I wish we could have seen is Misery having some way to go out during the day because I really thought it limited us being able to see her bond with the rest of the pack outside of Lowe's pack house. I also feel the fact that there were barely any 'spicy' scenes until right at the end and then them suddenly going insane and spending a whole chunk of the ending sleeping with each other, was a bit of a shock to the system considering there had only been a couple of scenes leading up to that, and it felt like it took a small part away from the ending. Other than those two things I enjoyed everything about this book. I loved the whole politics of the collateral keeping the peace between species and how that changed how Misery viewed herself and the other vampires, especially her father. Overall I would definitely recommend this book and I am very glad that vampires and werewolves seem to be making a little comeback again.

This is Ali Hazelwood's first fantasy, but I think I love her much more in STEM Romances.
Bride's premise was interesting but the plot ended up being confusing most of the time and cringe-worthy. The characters weren't much better with Misery being such a pick-me girl throughout the entire book. There were things I loved but much more that I didn't... I also hated the sex scenes, they were way too weird for my liking. Let's not talk about the knot...
If you like your fantasy books to not take themselves too seriously, then this one might be for you.

Bride is absolutely bonkers - and also a lot of good fun. As always, Ali Hazelwood's voice is so strong, so absorbing, and so funny. She somehow makes an expert-coder supernatural vampire feel relatable? I don't know how she does it, but it means I will always pick up absolutely everything she writes.
Ok, into Bride. The world was interesting - a contemporary take on the classic vampire/werewolf/human feud that worked if I didn't think about it toooooo hard. I really wanted a bit more insight into the actual vampires - our MC was very cut off from/removed from that world. This did work for the story however - the focus was far more on the dynamics of the werewolf pack. But I think I kind of missed that Gothic feel and the drama I'd anticipated from a paranormal romance. Ali shines with contemporary fic - and I wish she'd gone just a little bit further into the tropes of the genre. The world just felt a little light and a little low-stakes.
The love story was, as always, absolutely brilliant. Great characters, great chemistry. I thought they were fun together!
In summary: a veeeery light toe-dip into fantasy. Also, bonkers bonking. Not for the faint of heart.

Thank you to Net Galley and the publishers for sending me a copy in exchange for a review.
When I went into this, I was expecting a fun, supernatural romance between a vampire and a werewolf. What I was not expecting was the extreme (at least to me) spicy times. I've read other Hazelwood books, but this one was spicier than a scotch bonnet!
The characters were really interesting, I loved the world building as well - vampires and werewolves slotting in to our world quite neatly actually rather than being secretly in the shadows. The plot was enjoyable, and I didn't predict what was going to go down at all so I liked that. In fact, for a romance book I didn't think the plot was going to be as good as it was! Despite the spice, I will be reading the second book because now I'm invested.

I really enjoyed the forced proximity and the marriage of convenience trope. It was written and done so perfectly, it had me engaged from the beginning till the end. This book was such an exciting and new read and even though im not a massive fan of supernatural romances, this book was so fun to read. I love all of Ali Hazelwood’s books but i think that she has truly outdone herself with this book. This book is definitely my favourite book by her yet. I can’t wait for what else is to come!! :))

I've been excited about this book since it was announced, and it didn't disappoint. Some authors don't manage to portray a new genre straight away, Ali Hazelwood did.
Bride is an easy read, packed with lots of great characters (as we've come to expect from Ali Hazelwood) and a great storyline. This book focuses not only on the love story between the main characters, but also on the political side between werewolves, vampires and humans.
I really enjoyed her take on the familiar (and popular) werewolf-vampire romance. Misery (FMC) and Lowe (MMC) are great characters with a lot of personality. You can't help but love them, along with so many secondary characters (Koen captured my heart the second he showed up). The plot is well thought out and the disdain between the three races is well explained. The story is rich with love and romance, but also a bit of heartbreak and betrayal..
What I really liked was the fact that a "Bond" was really treated as something special and something that not everyone has. A lot of authors write about it being something special and then every character has one. Here it's not like that, only a couple of characters have a bond with someone, and the others who don't are still happy.
All in all, the book definitely lived up to my expectations and I can't wait to have it in the shop and tell people how great it is. If you're interested in vampires/werewolves and want to read something other than STEM novels, this is the book for you.
PS: I really hope there will be a second book, the hints at the end of Bride give me hope. (#1 Koen fan)

I want to start off by saying well done to Ali Hazelwood for stepping into a new genre and doing a pretty decent job. I think because I'm so used to her writing STEM books, I was expecting a similar vibe but was surprised to find it slightly different.
This being said, the world building and the romance were kind of rocky to me, some things didn't really make sense to more or flow, and the romance between the two main characters didn't give me that strong feeling (an umph sensation). The first 30% or so was pure info dumping which made me stop reading for a while because it just felt like I couldn't connect with a story, I was just being fed almost unnecessary information.
I would've enjoyed this so much more if there was more focus on creating main characters that aren't boring with basic conversations for over 80% of the book, I think envisioning the main female and male as Hayley and Jackson from The Originals, or Bella and Jacob from Twilight made this easier to read.

This book was well written, funny, and unique. Ali Hazelwood has done a great job creating a fantasy world that feels accessible and fresh. Unfortunately, I didn't make it to the end of this one because it just wasn't quite gripping me and I didn't find myself reaching for it. I stopped reading in order to move on to something that appeals to my interests a bit more. I won't be posting a review to my instagram for a while due to it being below 4 stars - I don't want to give any negative impressions on release day. This genuinely is a good book just not for me. Thank you!

5⭑
Tropes;
- arranged marriage
- rival families
- vampire x werewolf
- single POV
Bride is so different from Ali Hazelwood’s stem romance books in the best way possible. I would go so far to say that it is actually her best book yet. This book was so much fun and incredibly addicting. So addicting that i finished it in two days!
This book is great for paranormal romance beginners (lol me🙋🏼♀️) and was super enjoyable. I loved the rival families/species aspect of the story and it created a great amount of tension between Misery, Lowe and the rest of his pack.
The relationship development between Lowe and Misery was exactly how i like it to be in a romance book. At no point was i questioning how fast things were developing between them and I felt the change from them being forced husband and wife to them developing true feelings towards each other, was very natural and believable. It had the perfect amount of medium/slow burn and just the right amount of spice.
I really hope Ali continues writing in this genre and I’m hoping there was a small hint at the end of this book for another couple’s book?? Fingers crossed 🤞🏼
Thank you NetGalley & Sphere for sending me an early copy in exchange for my honest review.

This was so much fun!! The move to a new genre was handled masterfully and the world felt rich yet understandable. I truly loved this book!

This was just brilliant! I was slightly hesitant about the change from her usual genre, but this might just be Ali Hazelwoods best book yet! The world building was detailed but easy to follow, filled with bright and striking characters. I didn't want to put it down!

It's a five stars from me because this book gave everything that was promised to me.
I was litteraly giggling every 5 minutes, I had way too much fun reading this.
I can already see why some people won't like this book but honestly it just gave me everything Twilight never gave (while it being absolutely nothing like it but if you grew up with Twilight you'll understand).
Also, Misery (the fmc yes that's her name) is EVERYTHING !!
Now I need to go beg the publisher to send me one of the physical arc because it's so beautiful, I might die if I never get my hand on it.

Do you like:
✨paranormal romance?
✨cozy fantasy?
✨marriage of convenience?
✨books with a mystery?
Then I think this book is for you because It has all of that and more!
Personally I really enjoyed this one. It was a really cute book, and I liked the characters and overall vibe a lot. This book is mostly a romance that just happens to be about supernatural creatures so if you’re picking this up for the fantasy aspect it might disappoint you. If you want a cute romance where all the characters are well fleshed out and a little side plot of mystery then this is the right book.

Ali Hazelwood is a master of deliciously written romance that is heartfelt, witty, dripping with sarcastic and playful banter, yet can peel off layers of the soul like no one else. Then dress it back up feeling all the emotions!! How dare you?! But also thank you for making me feel seen romantically and emotionally too in your books!
I had no idea what to expect from this Omegaverse vampire x werewolf fantasy, but let me tell you. LET. ME. TELL.YOU!! I was sure Ali can do magic, now I am even more so. If you are not familiar with the Omegaverse, do not feel set back, everything is very lightly explained, all questions are answered and I think this book was still more focused on the relationships and backstory of the species, political affairs of the races rather than being a full on Omegaverse romance.
I loved the added suspense and the whole investigation Misery did to find her best friend: made me come up with theories and guess all the way until it was revealed!
The added mystery, secrets and found family were a beautiful touch! I enjoyed reading about Misery and how she found her place and learnt she is capable of loving and caring for something/someone.
Feet kicking, giggling, screaming and hoping to read more fantasies from Ali Hazelwood!
Thank you so much Little Brown Book Group UK, Ali Hazelwood and Netgalley for the eARC! All opinions are my own.
