I have been reading the in death both since the very first one, Naked in death, more years ago than I care to recall. I have dipped in and out over the years, but I always come back to them. I enjoyed this book very much, I have always liked the way Eve’s character is written and I like the detail of the police work. I missed some of the more familiar secondary characters, but I did like the ones who made an appearance.
The plot felt paced, with time spent getting to know each victim before their deaths.
Will definitely be reading the next book to be released and I heartily recommend this one.

I was surprised that this was number 58 in a series as it does not seem like it. normally after about 10 or so the stories feel jaded and repetitive. The murders are harrowing and seemingly unrelated, there's certainly a twisted killer out there. Eve and team work through the few clues relentlessly. Characters are well developed, as they should be after so many previous stories, but they continue to develop, they work well together, there's some humour and Eve and Roarke make a great pair.. Being pre-publication, there are plenty of formatting glitches to iron out but even having lines and lines of text with no spaces between words did not discourage me. Looking forward to future stories in the series. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an advance copy.

OMG I so love the way that Lt. Eve Dallas' mind works!

Following the death of a teenage girl at a rock concert with friends, Lt. Dallas and her team set out to find the murderer.

Along the way we meet well loved characters and colleagues that we've gotten to know. Even though all 'In Death' books are standalones, it certainly gives a richer reading experience when you can greet characters like long lost friends.

Relentless as always, Dallas and Peabody spearhead this continually evolving case. Whilst gathering seemingly inconsquential information, Dallas is digging to get into the head of the killer, a style and strategy that works over and over again.

Like much of this author's work, it's the dialogue both to herself and to those she works with, that sets this particular series apart for me.

You very much come to rely on Eve's process to guide you through each and every case, ultimately finding those responsible.

I love this series, the characters and colleagues, but most of all I love how Eve and her ever increasing circle 'stand' for the victims!

Another not to be missed 'In Death' experience.

Another excellent Eve Dallas thriller, well paced with great characters and plenty of twists. All set in a close future these are all well written and easy to read

Great and enjoyable read! But then I didn’t expect anything less from the author :-) I’ve read a few of the books from the ‘In Death’ series, and each of them are really good.
How do you catch a killer who chooses his victims at random, who has absolutely no connection to the victims. The way Eve goes about catching this killer is quite interesting and well thought out. Even after so many book in the same series, I found the story original and didn’t find any repetition with any of the previous books. The book is very well written and gripping, and maintained the fast pace till the ending. Am really looking forward to read the next book in the series, hope it is published soon.

Random in Death is a delightful combination of humour, police procedure and insight into the world of the Incel.
Chilling, because it is so very realistic despite being set in the future, I was gripped from start to finish.
The world of Dallas and Roarke is always a great place to hang out. Despite the horror of the crimes and the murders committed, the regular cast of characters that make up the world of Dallas/Roarke leaves you with a feeling of hope. It is a lesson in what humanity is all about.
Lovely characters, well drawn. Pacy plot about victims we care about and chillingly relevant.

Random in Death by JD Robb
I give this book 4.5 stars

Sixteen-year-old Jenna Harbough is carrying her demo in the hopes of slipping it to legendary band Avenue A in a nightclub.
Minutes later, Jake the guitarist is in the alley getting some fresh air, when a girl comes stumbling out, sick, confused and deathly pale. He tries to help, but it's no use. It's time to call Lieutenant Eve Dallas.

I can’t believe this is book 58 of the In Death series and I still love reading them, that says a lot about the author and her writing!
All of these can be read as a standalone.
Eve Dallas is back with another compulsive slightly futuristic murder mystery to solve. Her trustworthy team return and I love how compelling the police investigation process is within these books. We also get to catch up with Eve and Roarke’s relationship and I admire how the author seamlessly combines the two. Eve is such an intuitive and strong character and the evolution of her and her team throughout the series is impressive. The suspense and the plot line is a fast paced tense race against time to find and stop an incel murderer before he kills another random seemingly victim.I’m also always intrigued by the glimpses we get into the killer’s mind.
With thanks to Netgalley,JD Robb and Little, Brown Book Group UK, Piatkus for my chance to read and review this gripping series.

A JD ROBB book never disappoints. A new serial killer is targeting teenage girls. Rapid escalation to a second murder the night after.
Scrambling for clues Eve and the team dig out the clues . Surprising reappearance of a couple of characters which adds to the story.
The artistry of the storyline and the surprises never disappoint and make compulsive reading

Another great read by J.D. Robb!

Despite having a corrupted copy, I thoroughly enjoyed it. It´s been a while since I´ve read the Eve Dallas series, so I know I have missed a few, but you can easily read this as a standalone.

As always, murder, intrigue, with apparent random victims and great characters to fall in love with. Such an easy read, but grabs you from the start and keeps you there until the end. A really clever plot which keeps you guessing.

Seriously can´t think why anyone would not enjoy this book, and the previous books in the series.

My thanks to NetGalley and Little, Brown Book Group UK for giving me the opportunity to read an advanced digital copy in return for an honest review.

J D Robb has done it again. Another great Eve Dallas installment. Thoroughly engrossing, the crime, the police procedure, everything has a touch of realism which speaks of a great writer. She is able to think like a sick and twisted killer and still bring tears to your eyes for the victim he later kill's.
J D Robb is able to show the emotional growth within the main characters and friends without writing the actual words. Great.
The plot gave nothing away, Eve and the reader have to dig for every clue and bit of information to uncover the killer.

Part of a long running series this story still starts with a bang.
You jump right in with characters that envelop you like a warm blanket.
The characters are so well written that you come to care about their journey.
This thriller involves the murder of teenager’s and really hits the team hard.
This is a series that you feel can run and run.
Thank you NetGalley and (publisher) for sending this book for review consideration. All opinions are my own.

J. D. Robb is an amazing writer and this latest installment of the In Death series is the most thrilling one yet! All the books in this series have a dark and mysterious tone to them, but this one felt even more because of the focus of the book.

The character development and intricate investigations carry the stories with a bit of humor that is woven throughout which elevates what otherwise it would be a dire tone.

I really enjoyed this story, every book still feels completely new despite having 58 books in the series, J. D. Robbs always finds a way to make it new and exciting and having something in the story that she never done before.

I can’t wait for the next one in this series.
