Rebecca Raisin is one of my very favorite authors but I want gripped early on like I normally am. I found the chemistry between the 2 main characters lacking and i was always waiting for a big reveal to explain why. It wasn’t really explained so I found that disappointing. Having said that I loved Gran and her ever flowing husbands! Also lové Roxy, though again felt there was something hidden there and waiting to come out….. I loved the bookshop and obviously would love to work there. The characters coming in and out were also eccentric and fun!

Another fun and cozy book by Rebecca Raisin! I was a little annoyed by one of the tropes at first, but the twist at the end redeemed it. Gran is delightful and I hope I can be her when I'm that age.

Sun, love and books what can go wrong.
It was a fluffy summer read. But it lacked a little bit substance for me. Thank you to netgalley for letting me read this e arc in exchange for an honest opinion

🌅Sunny fake dating romance, fun characters📚

This Rebecca Raisin romance has a great setting and a crew of characters that really entertained. I loved the Greek locals who regularly roam into the bookshop where Evie is helping her gran; my favorite was the fellow who visited with his donkey. Evie's grandmother is a real live wire and every new story about her many marriages amuses.

The romance was sweet and slow developing, spurred on by gran and encouraged by Evie and Georgios's mutual love of books, but for me the community of quirky personalities were the stars.

Thanks to HQ Digital and NetGalley for sharing a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest opinion.

This review will be shared on Amazon.com, Goodreads, Bookbub, kobo and Barnes & Noble.

An enjoyable read where we escape to Santorini and the lovely world of books. Another book I couldn't put down and raced to finish.

This is the second book I have read by Rebecca Raisin and again, I loved it. A feel good story about finding yourself, the importance of family and friends and living life to the full.

Evie is sent by her well meaning mother to keep an eye on her eccentric grandmother who has married for the ninth time and taken on a bookshop on Santorini. All is not well and Evie finds herself committing to fake-dating the son of her landlord to keep him sweet.

What she does not expect is for Georgios to be so handsome, a book and dog lover and genuinely kind.

Evie finds herself working to save the bookshop whilst making new friends and learning to love again.

Delightful characters, loving setting and a twist to the tale.

A great holiday escapist for book lovers!! The fabulous fantasy of the ideal bookshop (for some) romance and a lot of laughs! A real hilarious rom com classic.
Evie loses her dream job in Hollywood, and flies to the aid of her beloved eccentric grandmother who is setting up a bookstore on the Greek island of Santorini. The ultimate dream store, bar and relaxation areas with the sea and beaches in the background. There are a lot of hilarious moments, the characters at times a little predictable, but fun nonetheless.
An enjoyable book and classic rom com, not my favourite from Rebecca Raisin but the perfect escapist read especially for a holiday or lying on a beach.
Thank you NetGalley and HQ books for the early read!

This was a very entertaining book set in a bookshop on a beautiful Greek island, that also had dogs you could hire to cuddle whilst sitting outside reading a book in the sunshine - all proceeds to the animal shelter, what's not to like?!

Evie is sent to Santorini to keep an eye on her 83 year old eccentric grandmother by her meddlesome (but loving) mother and sister. Evie's grandmother has currently recently married her (much younger) 9th husband and is running and updating his bookshop whilst he's supposedly working on an oil rig.

But for some reason the money seems to be in very short supply as Evie's gran can't pay her rent and is arguing with her landlord who wants his money. It's all very mysterious! So a plan is hatched that Evie should fake date the landlord's grandson, Georgios, to keep them sweet. Of course Evie is against the idea but reluctantly agrees as she loves her gran, and handsome Georgios also seems to really like shy Evie which she really can't understand!

Evie and Georgios continue to spend time with each other whilst her gran sorts out her money issues, and goes ahead with opening her night-time bookshop bar, which sounds absolutely gorgeous, books, jazz and cocktails! Slowly the mystery of husband No.9 is revealed, along with a couple of other misunderstandings, all whilst Evie and Georgios sort out their own lives and get closer.

A really lovely feeling book, full of eccentric and funny characters.

Who doesn’t love a book about a bookshop? This was a sweet romance, featuring the beautiful Santorini and some meddling Grandparents! It was a fun, easy read with lots of quirky characters!

I received an E-ARC with a request for my honest review.

This fun and sweet romance is set on the Greek island of Santorini and follows Evie, who after unexpectantly losing her job as a book scout goes to visit her Gran. Her Gran has just opened a bookshop on the island, and Evie jumps at the chance to assist.

Evie is still thinking about her future options, but when she discovers some money problems her Gran has that could affect the bookshop and her Gran’s new project, she agrees to fake date the son of her Gran’s landlord.

Even though she is hesitant, Evie continues with her Gran’s plan to save the bookshop. Soon along with the fake romance, Evie is helping with the plans for a big launch night at the Bookshop.

Will the launch be a success? Will Evie’s fake romance lead to more?

This romance is not only sweet but has many comedy moments which had a lightness to the storyline even with the struggles they are going though.

Evie’s Gran is such a lively character and is a great influence on Evie, she is just what Evie needs in her life whilst she is trying to work out her future.

The romance storyline is lovely, even with its awkward moments. I felt I could relate to both characters, which I love as then you feel more into the story.

Overall, a fun and sweet romance where a fake romance may turn into something more.

This book has given me all the summer feels and made me really want to go to Santorini!

I loved it from Start to finish, and I would love to be like Evie's Gran when I'm older, she was definitely my favourite character

Rebecca Raisin books are always so beautifully written, setting the scene and the characters and truly make you feel you're there with them experiencing the ups and downs as well.

If there isn't a bookshop and night library like this in Santorini, then someone needs to open one.

Highly recommend for a feel good, laugh out loud summer read

When Evie loses her job, she goes to stay with her grandmother who has opened a bookshop in Santorini. But her Gran appears to be in trouble, Evie arrives to find her gran arguing with her landlord’s grandson, Georgios, about outstanding rent. Evie isn’t good with confrontation and it’s even harder when Georgios looks like a Greek god.
When her gran asks her to get close to Georgios to try and keep his family sweet Evie initially baulks at the idea, but her gran can be very persuasive.
Over the summer Evie and Georgios grow closer but Evie is having trouble telling fact from fiction. Will she end up heartbroken when the summer ends.
This is a story full of sun and fun, family, and friendship.

This is an easy read for summer holiday. Interesting characters and a beautiful setting. A bit far fetched at times but even so, worth reading.

If harsh realism is your bag then step away now, however, if humour, romance and quirky characters that you want to take into your heart are what you are looking for than this is a book for you.
Firstly, this book made me decide that I need a change in career as our main character, Evie, is a book scout - yes please!!! Having lost her job, she heads to Santorini to help out her wayward grandmother and develop a successful bookshop in town. There is - of course- a love interest but I really loved all the other characters: the dogs were fabulous and absolutely characters in their own right, donkey man (you'll have to read to find out), a man who rearranges all the books and a whole host of others really make this book.
This book is warm, cute and funny - what's not to like?!

This is going to be an anytime book. The story is delightful, funny, romantic and a little mischievous.
There is love in the air, Books, Bookstore and Rescue dogs involved. There is a Gran who been married a few times, Busybody relatives and outlandish neighbors and friends for life and it all role up into a package that will make you laugh, smirk and just have a good time.
I loved this story and it will brighten your day.

I want to Thank HQ | HQ Digital and NetGalley for an advance copy of this wonderful lighthearted romance that just you'll just love.

Rebecca Raisin is an accomplished writer of romantic fiction with a heart. This latest is an escape to the Greek island of Santorini with added book shop and rescue dogs. Perfect beach read. I loved it.

Summer at the Santorini Bookshop set on the gorgeous Greek Island of Santorini is such a fun read. The authors love of books and bookshops shines in this fake date romance and subplot of trying to save the bookshop.

Evie is an unemployed Hollywood book scout and has been sent to stay with her Grandmother Floretta because her family is worried about her. Grandma Floretta who is on her ninth marriage is quite a handful. The relationship between Evie and her grandmother is quite sweet.

Evie’s grandmother has opened a bookshop but has run into financial difficulty and can’t pay her rent. Floretta convinces Evie to fake date Georgios, the grandson of the man she rents from to buy her some time to find the money she owes.

Evie, Georgios, and Floretta are such great characters and the bookshop was EVERYTHING. The addition of the dogs was really cute and added to the story.

This was a really enjoyable novel and kept me entertained to the end. A perfect read for the summer.

Thank you Netgalley, HQ Digital and Rebecca Raisin for the eARC I received in exchange for my honest opinion.

An interesting and romantic story by Rebecca. Evie’s Gran is on her 9th husband and lives on the Greek island of Santorini. She has invested in a bookshop but her family in the USA believe she is in need of help as she’s being manipulated so Evie is dispatched. Many interesting characters and falling in love for Evie and Gran. Thanks to Rebecca and her publisher. Thanks also to NetGalley

Another hit for Rebecca Raisin. The mad island life of Santorini is captured in all its sun set beauty, and pig farming oddness and wallet stealing dogness! The characters are absolutely full to the brim with life, and the escapades are just so fun. Evie is such a great heroine, someone whose really cares and who is desperate to live life on her own terms. Georgios is gorgeous, with an interfering grandfather behind him and he struggles to keep up with the nuttiness of the world he has fallen into. The whole melange is made that bit better and richer by the rescue dogs and their personalities, be that piddling on demand, stopping thieves or dramatically crying for food. A must read that will leave you in such a good and happy mood.

Enjoyed it. It's a cute story and perfect for a summer/beach read. My favorite part of the book were the dogs and the bookshop. Santorini sounded beautiful and I loved the description of the scenery and the food. I would definitely live on the Island, work at the bookshop and cuddle all the rescue dogs. From the start I was worried Floretta might be a black widow, since all her husbands met a strange untimely death. It wasn't just one husband, it was ten. Some of the tragic ends included a Bermuda triangle disappearance, lightening strike, pufferfish toxin, falling in a crevasse while ice climbing, freezing to death after slipping on wet shamrocks, a drop bear attack (which is some sort of carnivorous koala) and a mix up with antifreeze. So many of these scenarios are far fetched. I don't understand why Floretta keeps getting married. She has a horrible track record with men. Floretta definitely led an interesting life. Besides the numerous husbands, she traveled all over the world, dabbled in bigamy with two husband number sevens, had a friend in the mob named Billy the Knuckle, just to name a few. Not sure why Floretta didn't tell the truth about everything. If she would have been upfront about Konstantine, then the "Fun Police" wouldn't always be meddling in her business.

Georgios and Evie were always so awkward together. I kept forgetting they were actual adults and not teenagers. The whole "fake dating" was annoying. It wasn't fake because they were actually going on dates. Evie got jealous the minute she thought Georgios and Lucy were once an item. Why would Evie get mad at Georgios? She was so hypocritical because she was doing the same thing. It was all so absurd. I enjoyed the characters that constantly visited the bookshop (Donkey Man, Zorba the pig farmer, Roxy and Guitar Man).

Definitely recommend the book. a try. I enjoyed the story, characters and writing style. Loved the cover and I can't pass up books that take place in book shops. Look forward to reading more books by the author.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from HQ through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
