When Evie lost her job, schemes are put in motion to get her on the right path in her life. This was a delightful read following the lives of Evie and her grandmother, who is an absolute hoot! Loved the characters in the book and the twists and turns of a dysfunctional family. Good story line. I would love to find a bookshop like this. I would never want to leave!

A lovely story set on the Greek island Santorini, following Evie who having been made redundant from her job is sent to sort out her eccentric grandmother by her mother who thinks she has lost her mind for buying a book shop on the island. Evie jumps at the chance especially as she worked as a book scout in her previous job and loves books.
This really draws you in that you can imagine yourself on the island which sounds gorgeous and when her gran is threatened by her landlord to take the book shop away for not paying the rent her gran comes up with the idea that Evie can fake date the landlords son Georgios to buy her more time.
What follows is a delightful story full of laughs and mischief and you cannot help falling in love with her eccentric gran who is on her 9th marriage and her hilarious pranks.
Would highly recommend.

I have become a real fan of Rebecca Raisin. I love the stories and the characters. Her ability to draw you in to the context, in this case the wonderful bookship is a delight. She has the ability to put you in the place you are reading. The books are warm and fun to read.

Summer at the Santorini Bookshop by Rebecca Raisin is an absolutely delightful read that I was unable to put down! It has everything you could look for in a rom-com - humour and romance, obviously, but also a vivid and magical setting, a dedication to books, an amazingly relatable main character, hilarious supporting characters, and a plot that holds some surprise twists. What's not to love?
The character of Evie is truly wonderful; she is an introvert full of wit and self-deprecation, who is forced to stride further from her comfort zone than she ever thought she could, all in the name of helping out her beloved Gran. In turn, Gran is an hilariously free spirit, with an agenda of her own, cloaked in mystery and outrageous stories. And Evie's romantic interest, reluctant at first, is Georgios, a Greek god of a man who somehow manages to remain endearingly modest and oblivious of his appeal to the opposite sex.
Add to the mix Evie's new Greek friend whose wonder and delight at the shenanigans around her in turn make you chuckle every time she appears, a pack of mixed breed rescue dogs who get into all sorts of wondrous mischief, and a bookstore/library setting, and this book will give you all of 'the feels' and then some.
I was absolutely thrilled to receive an invitation to read the ARC of #SummerattheSantoriniBookshop from the publisher through #NetGalley.

You can guarantee it’ll be a good read when it’s a book by Rebecca Raisin! This for me had everything from family dynamics , friendship, secrets, romance and of course being set in a bookshop is the icing on the cake. The fabulous setting of a Greek island just adds to this. After losing her job in Hollywood as a book scout she goes to the Greek island of Santorini where her very eccentric Gran has taken on a bookshop. However things aren’t straightforward as it seems that Gran hasn’t paid her rent and spent all her money of revamping the bookshop. To try and get the landlord off her back she convinces Evie to fake date his grandson, who happens to be absolutely gorgeous. This is an absolute fabulous read that I couldn’t put down. There are some laugh out loud moments as well as some fairly serious moments. I can’t recommend it enough! Thank you to HQ Digital and Netgalley for the ARC

Reading a book by Rebecca Raisin is like being enveloped in a warm hug. You know what you are getting – stunning scenery which will make you immediately want to travel to the setting, and interesting, and very real characters. With the addition of a bookshop and rescue dogs, what’s not to like?

The book is set on the beautiful Greek Island of Santorini where Evie is sent to check up on her Grandmother who has just married her 9th husband and opened a Bookshop. Apparently money is tight, and her Grandmother is unable to pay the rent and her landlord is threatening to close the Bookshop. Her Grandmother is delighted to see her, but asks her to fake date the Landlord’s Grandson, Georgios, to keep an eye on what is happening with the Landlord, and hopefully stop him closing the Bookshop for good. What Evie hadn’t reckoned on was that Georgios would be so incredibly handsome – and a book lover, a dog whisperer, and a lovely man as well.

I absolutely loved this book, and was sad when it ended. I can’t wait to visit Santorini now – it sounds breath taking.

I love Rebecca's knack of using strong descriptive language to congure up but the location and the food in your brain.
Evie, who's been made redundant, leaves America to visit her Gran in Greece. Her gran has recently renovated a bookshop but has run into financial difficulties with her landlord.
On arrival Evie meets the Georgios, the grandson of the landlord.
Evie gets to work helping with the bookshop, making new friends whilst still looking for jobs.
Through the love of books, Evie and Georgios become firm friends and build up the shop. Will the two friends take their relationship further?

Evie Davenport is told she is redundant by horrid Hank and so pauses her dream job of being a book scout.

At the same time Gran (Floretta) marries for the ninth time (if you overlook the bigamous 7th) and is opening a bookshop, has some troubles with her landlord and had trouble with the police when Evie’s mum and sister pressure her to join gran in Santorini to keep an eye on Gran.

Arriving in Santorini, Evie has a journey from hell and arrives to see gorgeous Giorgio (grandson of the landlord) harasssing her gran. So Evie gives him what for.

Gran goes to see a man about a dog and sones home with SIX of them, then comes the hire a dog plan (seriously, I need to visit this bookshop).

Our heroes plan the opening of epeolatry with Roxy and book in booktok sensation Lucy Strike, who has the hots for our hero.

I wish I could read this book again for the first time. It’s a lovely light summery read.

I received an advanced Reader e-copy from NetGalley in return for my honest review. What a joy!

A pleasant and enjoyable novel with great characters and a fun interesting plot line. I really thought the addition of the dogs with their individual characteristics was a nice addition to the story.

Another delightful book by Rebecca Raisin. I loved Evie’s grandma and Santorini was sunshine and laughter. A fun frothy book which was a perfect way to fill a rainy Sunday afternoon.

I am really happy to have another book by Rebecca Raisin. I really liked Evie and her quirky, cocktail-loving grandmother and their relationship. Their antics in life and love were so fun.

The addition of dogs was a cute detail.

The island of Santorini was very visual. It’s somewhere I’ve never been but after this book I would like to go there if it’s wheelchair accessible.

The bookshop is incredibly unique and I was invested in the “trying to save the bookshop” subplot, and I think Evie’s backstory in publishing was an interesting choice. I love books with bookshops.

I felt as if I was in Santorini. It’s a good way to escape the winter and indeed anytime.

Rebecca’s books are so feelgood and wonderfully relaxing. Just what I needed.

Summer at the Santorini Bookshop is a fun, true-to-life fake date romance. I was curious about what was going to happen between Evie and Georgios.

Thanks to Rebecca Raisin, HQ Digital and Rachel’s Random Resources for my eARC in exchange for an honest and voluntary review.

4 stars.

Thanks to the Publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.

I enjoyed reading this book.

Evie has lost her job as a book scout. When she speaks to her mother and sister, they ask her to travel to Santorini to look into what her grandmother is doing opening a bookshop with her husband, he’s not her first, but number nine.

I loved the setting, characters and the pets, not to mention the food.

The story had some twists and turns.

I recommend this book.

Evie goes to stay with her Grandmother Floretta when she is made redundant because her family are worried about her Grandmother who is 83 . Evie is happy to do so as she loves her flamboyant Grandmother who has opened up a bookshop on the island of Santorini. While there Evie meets Georgios who her Grandmother says is the grandson of the man she rents her property from but that she has run into financial difficulty and can’t pay her rent so Evie must fake interest in Georgios to give her time to find the money she owes. This doesn’t appear to be too much of a problem for Evie being that he is gorgeous and appears to genuinely like Evie and that then becomes and issue because Evie has feelings for Georgios however she knows that romance started under false pretences. There was a twist, which I saw coming and although didn’t spoil my enjoyment of the book, I wasn’t keen on the way Kate reacted.
There were a few laugh out loud moments, such as Georgios telling Kate Floretta called him an obnoxious floral wheelbarrow so he wasn’t sure if she meant that or whether it was just because her Greek seemed awful
I’m not sure either if it’s because Evie is American but ending sentences with is all instead of that’s all just didn’t feel right to me.
I did enjoy this book and loved the facts that’s Floretta had been married loads of times with her Husbands appearing to meet untimely deaths and she had loads of fun to her character. The addition of the dogs with all their individual characters was also a lovely touch and brought the story to even more life with descriptive writing in regards to Santorini.
Wonderful setting, great characters and overall an easy read that I would recommend.
Thank you to Netgalley and HQ Digital for the advance copy of this book in return for my honest opinion, which is completely my own.

A pleasant and enjoyable novel with some great characters and a fun plot line. The plot flowed well and kept me entertained and enthralled to the end set against the beautiful backdrop of Santorini. I would rate this book 3.5 stars. Thank you to NetGalley, HQ and the author for the chance review.

Rebecca Raisin’s books are always a fun read and this one is no exception. Set on the beautiful Greek island of Santorini it tells the story of recently unemployed Hollywood book scout Evie who has been sent to sort out her Grandmother who is on her ninth marriage much to the displeasure of Evie’s mother and sister. Staying with her Grandmother, who is running a bookshop on the island, Evie agrees to fake date the handsome and charismatic Georgios who is the grandson of her grans landlord in order to stop her gran from being hassled for unpaid rent.
The descriptions of Santorini and the local people are wonderful . This book is full of wonderful food and books and many a misunderstanding of motivations. The characters are well drawn, gran is just what a grandmother should be and the revelations about her former husbands are hilarious. Evie and Georgios make a delightful couple. There are new friends and dogs to discover and the relationship between Evie and her grandmother is lovely.
This is a must have read for this summer and I can highly recommend it.

Set in the beautiful island of Santorini, this book captivated me from the get go. Unlucky bookworm Evie loses her job and is summoned by her family to travel to Santorini and "babysit" her grandma Floretta who just got married (again!) to a mysterious Greek man. Evie rises up to the occasion and joins her grandma on the beautiful island, to help her run her newest venture, a run down bookshop. Evie needs to come out of her shell in order to help her grandma escape her money troubles and make the bookshop a success. Surrounded by the magic of Santorini and some wonderful new friends, will Evie manage to help Floretta and maybe find herself along the way too?
This is a wonderful little story, dotted with really great characters, one above all Floretta. You laugh out loud and get emotional at the same time, I was moved by the beautiful relationship between Evie and her Gran. You can't help but root for Evie and sometimes you feel like you wanna shake her a bit, just so she could see how wonderful she is. Beautifully written, you really lose yourself in the author's words and descriptions of the breathtaking scenery of Santorini.

This quick and easy summer read sees Hollywood book scout Evie packed off to Santorini by her mother, to check up on her seemingly wayward grandmother. She discovers her gran is now the owner of a bookshop with husband number 9, and it isn't long before Evie is caught up running the shop. Can Evie find out what is happening before her mother appears on the island, and can she keep her feelings for local man Georgios under control?

I loved the inclusion of the rescue dogs, I thought the idea of rent-a-dog was wonderful. The scenery was also beautifully described, and I felt like I was on the sun soaked island numerous times. The story was amusing at points, however I felt the stories of gran's former husbands were too many, and it started to get ridiculous. The way the characters seemed unable to actually talk to each other was also irritating!

I would like to thank NetGalley, Haper Collins and Rebecca Raisin for the E ARC of this book.
Evie loves her job as a book scout in Hollywood, unfortunately her boss retires and the gentleman who replaces her fires her within his second day in the job. With nothing to do and no new job on the horizon Evie agrees to go to Santorini to keep an eye on her Grandmother, who has married for the 12th time, and is opening a bookshop. Evie’s Mother and Sister are worried about her Gran and want someone there to see what is going on.
Evie arrives to find her Gran being shouted at by a gorgeous man and immediately intervenes. It turns out that the man is the grandson of the owner of the building that her Grans bookshop is in. He is threatening to take the shop away from her as she hasn’t paid the rent. To help her Gran figure out what the man is going to do Evie agrees reluctantly to fake date the grandson, Georgios.
The more times Evie spends with Georgios, the more she likes him and the more she comes out of her shell. She also begins to make friends and is enjoying her time on Santorini. The only thing is her Gran is keeping secrets and Evie is worried. Can Evie save the bookshop and maybe find love at the same time?
I found bits of this books annoying, especially where all her Gran’s ex husbands were concerned and all the various demises they had. It was way too farfetched. There is also the fake dating situation, not my favourite troupe to be honest and Evie’s reaction at one point was hypocritical.
I loved the sound of the bookshop and all the Greek food references.

Another bookshop in another beautiful country. My last Rebecca Raisin read was in Venice and this one in Santorini makes me want to book a holiday and pack up.

Loved everything about this book, the characters, the setting, the romance and of course the dogs.

I was hooked from page 1 and just loved this story.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Thank you NetGalley and the author for this ARC.

I’ve read a few of Rebecca’s books and loved them. This one was no different. Pure escapism to sunny Santorini. I devoured this book on a weekend morning. Such a lovely read, no spice, fake dating, a fun quirky Gran and lots of dogs! 🐶
