This is the seventh book I have read from this author. They are all such easy reads. As usual I enjoyed the characters. The setting sounded lush. I could quite happily stay there. Especially with the dogs! Loved it. Thank you Netgalley.

After being made redundant, Evie, a book scout in Los Angeles, agrees to travel to Santorini to keep an eye on her eccentric grandmother who has just married her 9th husband and opened a bookshop on the Greek island. She discovers upon arrival that her grandmother has neglected to pay the rent due to some unforeseen financial difficulties and the landlord is threatening to evict her. Gran proposes that Evie fake date the landlord's grandson, Georgios, as a means of delaying his demands for rent payment and Evie reluctantly agrees to the ruse to help her grandmother not expecting to develop feelings for Georgios who is a handsome and charming fellow book lover.

Summer at the Santorini Bookshop is a quick and easy read - perfect for summer! It's an enjoyable bit of literary escapism to the beautiful Greek islands and if you're the type of person that loves the idea of running a bookshop then you will love Gran's shop, Bibliotherapy, and her night time library club, Epeolatry. Evie comes off as a bit immature but her quirky Grandmother is a lot of fun - a role model for continuing to try new things and enjoying life in her '80s!

Thank you to NetGalley and HQ Digital for sending a digital ARC of this book for review consideration. All opinions are my own.

A wonderful love story in a beautiful setting. Evie, a book scout, goes to the Greek island of Santorini at her family's request to check up on her grandmother, who has recently remarried. She starts work at the local bookshop and finds herself enjoying life on the island. Adventures ensue, especially with the motley gang of dogs who haunt the bookshop. She also becomes very friendly with gorgeous Georgios. Loved the characters, scenery and engaging plot, which has plenty of humour as well as poignant moments. A great read for when you're on holiday (or when you wish you were).

A fun, warm (both in location and words) book where we meet Evie who is sent by her mother and sister to check up on her grandmother, who has just got married again and apparently has lost all her money. Her gran lives on a Greek island and runs a bookshop, both for the local people and tourists. Evie has no excuse for not going as she has just been made redundant, but on arrival things are not as she thought they might be. She is met by a guy who she really likes. Her grandmother has obviously been renovating the property as its absolutely gorgeous and in a location that's just lovely. So thinking what can possibly go wrong she settles down in the guest apartment and is soon settling down in the bookshop too. The bookshop, named Bibliotherapy, caters for the locals and tourists, it also has some comical, once stray, dogs of assorted ages and sizes. Her gran is very good at avoiding her money problems and Evie feels like she is fighting a losing a battle to point out the fact to her that her money is almost gone and what is she going to do about it. One good thing though, Evie is enjoying her time with Georgios, maybe enjoying herself a bit too much sometimes!

Evie is a very enthusiastic person when it comes to books and everything related to books and her grandmother is enthusiastic about spending her time doing what she wants and with who she pleases, she has had many husband's and has made it her personal ambition to do up her villa and make the bookshop pay, not forgetting her band of stray dogs who can do no wrong. As you read through you wonder if Evie has got her work cut out to achieve the seemingly impossible! But her friendship with Georgios steps up a notch when he asks her to help him with his work and she involves him in setting up a book event at the bookshop. With a well known, but glamorous writer Lucy invited, what could possibly go wrong!

Set in the glorious Greek island of Santorini, drenched in summer sunshine with the bookshop perched on a cliff overlooking the deep blue sea, this is a good book to read on your summer holidays, whether you too are in the Greek sunshine or at home in your garden you will be transported to days of sunshine and laughter. I particularly loved those mischievous dogs, always into something, often unspeakable, but hilarious things.

This was a wonderful read. It was so funny at times, heartwarming and compelling. I loved the characters and also how the story unfolded keeping the reader completely immersed in the story. Evie and her grandmother were fabulous characters. It's so nice to read about older characters as they have so much experience, knowledge and so much to give. The setting in Santorini was brilliant and certainly somewhere you just want to visit as well as the bookshop which sounded like a marvellous place to be.

When Evie is made redundant from her dream ‘book scout’ job, she is encouraged by her Mum to travel to Santorini to check on her recently married Grandma. Once there she becomes embroiled in her grandmas rent dispute and is asked to form a fake relationship with the landlords grandson, Georgious in the hope that more time will be granted to pay the rent arrears .
Set against the beautiful island of Santorini with a quirky bookshop and a literary based night library for book lovers, what is there not to like about this book?
The characters are very funny and well described. They are very easy to visualise and each has an unusual quirk be it searching for Helena to rearranging books in the bookshop.
Grandma, Floretta, has just married husband number 9, and questions have been asked about the demises of her previous husbands; and husband number 9 has disappeared to work on the oil rigs.
To be honest, I thought that the adopted dogs stole the book, especially when they video bombed Evie’s job interview.
This is a funny sunny book perfect for the holiday season.

Summer at the Santorini book shop.
Rebecca Raisin.
This was a completely different read for me and I really enjoyed it. At first I felt a little out of my comfort zone, but I soon became engrossed in the story. I could experience the heat and humidity, gaze at the amazing views and feel the sizzle of the relationship between the leading characters. This is escapism at it's best, with some very funny moments and far fetched stories thrown in. Loved it!

Just having ‘Summer at the Santorini Bookshop’ was not long enough. I devoured every page with the wonderful characters both human and dog form in the beautiful Greek setting. A totally fun escapism read and one which I didn’t want it to end. This is a must summer read.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC in return for an honest review. It was an absolute pleasure.

Evie and gorgeous Georgious.

Evie Davenport has not long landed her dream job as a book scout in Hollywood when she is made redundant. Her grandmother has just got married again to a local from the Greek island of Santorini.
Evie’s mother takes the opportunity of the gap in between jobs and sends her off to Santorini to find out exactly what is happening?

A fun lighthearted book that transported me to the colourful and beautiful island of Santorini.
I loved the setting for the book, and the descriptions of the bookshop were idyllic. I could picture it perfectly.
Adoring animals as I do I thought the dogs in the book was a wonderful addition. Their funny individual wacky characters had me laughing and smiling.
Being a book lover myself I would to visit this fictional bookshop, relax with a good book, the dogs and a literary cocktail.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Publisher for an advanced e-book copy. Opinions about the book are entirely my own.

Oh I loved everything about this book. The protagonist, Evie, is sent by her rather overbearing mother to Santorini, to keep an eye on Evie’s grandmother. Having been made redundant from the job she loved in New York, Evie was eager to visit her dear grandmother and her intriguing bookshop.

She soon settles into island life, meeting great friends and experiencing quite the adventure.

What makes this book so fabulous is the characters. Evie is a bookworm, she is anxious and she doesn’t like to “people”. This is a core concept in the book, Evie really does learn a lot about herself and anxiety, and what is important.

Her grandmother, Floretta, is one of the most wonderful characters ever written. An 83 year old incurable romantic, she lives life to the full and there’s never a dull moment around her.

Georgios, the neighbour’s grandson, is just like Evie, also a bookworm, also shy, and devastatingly handsome. Floretta convinces Evie to “fake date” Georgios to help sort out her dispute with his grandfather. Evie finds this easy to do, finding him easy to spend time with, and developing real feelings for him. But what would he think if he found out she only went out with him initially for her grandmother? How could they form a real relationship based on a lie?

The drama caused by Floretta, the six dogs she adopts, the book related talk, the Santorini setting, which will make you yearn for the life of a Greek island, all these things make for a wonderful book.

I cannot recommend this book enough. I don’t think this review does it justice. Wonderful storylines, gorgeous setting, and the best characters you could wish for.

I do hope that Roxy gets her sequel, I would love to read that.

I love Rebecca Raisin books and this one didn't disappoint. You literally felt you were in Santorini itself. If I was I would have definitely paid a visit to the bookshop.

This is my fantasy bookshop! If it exists somewhere please let me know. I really enjoyed this escapists extended vacation read. The setting and the quirky characters made this predictable (in a comfortable way) story sing. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to be an early reader. I was thoroughly entertained by this book.

This was such an enjoyable light hearted read. I did find myself chuckling at the grandma’s antics.
A bookshop at the top of a hill on a Greek island, rescue dogs and a handsome man, what more could you want! I so want to travel to Santorini now as it sounds beautiful.
The book cover is lovely too.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is such a sweet read and just perfect as a summer read. Set in a bookshop on a Greek island, I loved everything about this book. Although not everything is what it appears to be.

Evie has been lured there to look after her Gran, and what a character she is! There, she's asked to fake date her landlords grandson, Georgios.

Lots of laugh out loud moments as well as some sweetness, a dash of romance, and a gorgeous setting. I just love that bookshop and those dogs!

Rom Com Hollywood scout, Evie escapes to Santorini following redundancy and to sort her wayward Grandmother out. She walks straight into the plot of a romcom, helping in the family bookshop and meeting the gorgeous Giorgiou. Could her life pan out as a rom com story? Hard to put down, a really enjoyable read.

What a brilliant read! I now need to go to Greece and open a bookshop/cocktail bar and follow in the steps of Floretta, and Evie and Georgios have such a wonderful start for their budding relationship, even the Mafia are lovely

After being made redundant Evie is sent to the beautiful island of Santorini to support her grandmother whose ninth husband has disappeared with most of her savings. However grandma is not a typical sweet old lady and we are never sure who is helping who as they try to fulfill her wish of opening a special bookshop and club. The story has everything, mystery, romance, a stunning setting and genuine laugh out loud moments.

This was a fun rom-com! It’s a great little story full of fun and unusual characters. I loved the dogs- they almost stole the story. Parts of the book made me laugh out loud. There’s a fun little twist at the end of the book too. It’s the perfect beach read
Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the early copy
