One of my favorite genres are long journeys, on foot, or bicycle or horseback….especially on horseback. The author journeys through Kyrgyzstan and the Jailoo on horseback and by doing so she really and truly gets to know the country and its people. She write beautifully and in detail of the landscapes, weather, cultures and people and other animals she meets. She, in essence, puts you there with her. I would have enjoyed more about the horses and their quirks and personalities.
If you’re interested in knowing the real Kyrgyzstan that you won’t see from an automobile, then you will absolutely enjoy this book.
