A fun read for primary school kids.
Set in London, this book takes you on an adventure through the city with siblings Louise and Michael and a host of animals that talk! Oh and not forgetting meeting the royal family.
It was fun revisiting my home town via this children's story now we love thousands of miles away. Chapters are short so it is a fun read for those who find chapter books overwhelming.
Princess Fuzzypants here: This is a charming book about siblings, Louise and Michael, who make friends with talking animals from the London Zoo. In the initial story, Horatio, the lion, wants to visit his friends who live in Trafalgar Square but is not sure how to get there from the zoo. Louise and Michael take him and his various friends who include a polar bear, an elephant, a giraffe and an eagle. This is but the first of many adventures the children share with their animal friends.
For those who love London, this is especially sweet as they travel by tube, bus, and taxi around London. No one seems to look twice including the King and Queen, whom they meet at Buckingham Palace. It truly is a fun book and would make a great bedtime book with the chapters in bite sized chunks that could be read over a number of days. Five purrs and two paws up.
This was a short read, but a delightful little story. A little adventure set in London, with lots of fun characters. It didn't take long to read at all, but it brought a little smile to my face, and I thought the illustrations were very cute. I think this would be an ideal book to read to or with children, or the type of book that children might enjoy reading on their own.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for a free copy to review.
A sweet, eventful novel that we really enjoyed at bedtime this week.

This book is just lovely- I love the setting in London- and I know that my students will love it. It will be a wonderful read aloud.
This was a cute little read following the antics and excitement of Louise and Michael when they slip through the magic door. They get to meet the King, go to The Lord Mayor's Show, take the stand at The Royal Courts of Justice amongst many other adventures in London.
I think the book is brilliant for the younger generation as it introduces them to places they may not have heard of...they may never have even been to London.
The characters of the siblings were fun and I loved the talking animals from the zoo, especially Snowy.
Definitely one for the kids to love and reread over time. It's entertaining, enjoyable and a whole lot of fun.
This is the cutest book! This would be a great read aloud classroom book. Two kids become friends with animals at the zoo. No one cares or seems to notice that the animals are walking all around, having adventures with the kids! I highly recommend this book!!!
