I really liked the different points of view of this story. I never knew what to believe about the relationship between Jade and Isaac.. neither felt trustworthy and I wasn’t always sure who was the villain even though the first half of the book was in Jade’s point of view. I started to enjoy the book even more when the story shifted to Marta’s point of view. The twists were unexpected and it was a fast moving book. I look forward to reading more books from this author.

This was an enjoyable psychological thriller about a young woman who wins money on the lottery. The night she won, the jackpot was £20 million but she won on a scratch card - £50,000. Except she acted as though it was the higher figure, even to her mother…
Jade has decided to enjoy herself, splashing the cash to escape her tiny bedsit in London & visiting Marbella twice in quick succession. The second time, she meets dashing Isaac on the flight out & ends up moving in to his sumptuous villa. This is where she realises that exaggerating her wealth probably wasn’t her best idea. Add in Marta & Pablo, the married couple who look after Isaac, & a battle-scarred ex of Isaac’s & the story ramps up several gears.
The plot starts slowly but once we get to the villa. Oh my! An easy to read twisty tale; even to the last page I wasn’t sure where it would end. Recommended.
The Girl in Seat 2A is the first book that I’ve read by Diana Wilkinson, this was so hard to put down. After a big win Jade takes her second trip to Marbella even though she hates flying, during some turbulence she meets the too good to be true handsome Isaac Marston.
After an unplanned stay with him at Casa De Astrid she soon starts to learn that maybe, he isn’t the perfect man she first believed.
The added characters of Marta and Pablo really added to the depth of this story, once we switched perspectives it was game over I wasn’t able to do anything until I had finished the book. There were so many twists and turns leading me to gasp multiple times.
I definitely recommend The Girl in Seat 2A for anyone looking for a fast paced twisty thriller, I’m looking forward to reading more from this author.
The Girl In Seat 2a. WOW! What an absolutely gripping read. Psychological thriller with enough twists to keep you questioning whether everything is as it seems.
Jade wants to live like a millionaire, and wants everyone to believe she is too. When she meets Isaac on a holiday to Spain - she can't believe her luck. A man with Brad-Pitt-like good looks, a multi-million dollar villa and a bank account to match. And he is interested in her!!!
But is everything as perfect as it appears, or is there more going on?
4 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Special thanks to Netgalley for providing me with this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.
Oh my goodness a thrilling read. At first I thought it wasn't going to be for me. But, boy, I was so wrong g. Once it go going it didn't let up. I found d myself picking it up at odd moments in the day just to find out what happens next. Very exciting. My thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.
Jade Wiltshire, 30, has just won some money from the lottery. So, she is flying to Marbella to treat herself to a week at a 5-star hotel she stayed at right after winning the money. As she hates flying, she’s drinking too much and stupidly took some diazepam as well. She doesn’t like someone sitting right next to her so she reserved all three seats. When the plane plunges, she thinks they will crash but it rights itself. A man then asks if she is OK and offers to buy her a drink and then joins her. She can’t say No to free booze. After they land, the combination of booze and pills hits her and she wakes up in the man’s beautiful villa. His name is Issac and begins to woo her.
Marta and Pablo are the housekeeper and landscaper for the villa. Soon, Jade learns that Issac cannot stand mess of any kind which starts to irritate her. Who is this man and has she made a mistake hooking up with him?
This is the point in the book where I became quite disillusioned with Jade and her naivety and hard drinking. Ah, but I was too hasty in my judgment and after continuing on that’s when the story got really interesting. It’s a good book but I cannot give out any spoilers but I hope I have whetted readers’ appetites to give this book a try. Some dark humor here that will have you chuckling. Oh, and Yay, Marta! Enjoy!

The Girl In Seat 2A has an impactful beginning, which draws the reader into a world of control, glamour, lies and secrets. Jade's win is not all it seems, but it does provide a relatable dream fantasy that allows readers to imagine what they would do if they had a win. Told from differing viewpoints, it enables the story to twist unexpectedly. Jade's unreliability as a narrator adds to the mystery, and the story is atmospheric and menacing. There are lighter moments that contrast with the more sinister elements. I like the glamorous setting, the characters' unpredictability and the suspense.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher.
Jade hates flying and books seat 2A every time as she has recently won some money she can afford to book seats 2B and 2C also. A chance encounter with millionaire Isaac on the flight will have her life changing forever but maybe not the way you expect. This book would make a thrilling blockbuster on the big screen. I would love to see it as a movie as it gives off the most amazing vibes. I didn't know who was the good guy or who was the bad guy until the very satisfying ending. I have to say that it is one of the best physcological thrillers that I have read and the ending is summarised perfectly. It's full of twists and surprises which kept me engaged and on my toes. I was terrified at one point and let out a few expletive words. It was hard to take my eyes away from the pages.
Thanks to NetGalley and #BoldwoodBooks for the book #TheGirlInSeat2A by #DianaWilkinson. This book is about winning money and acting like you have a lot of it. It is suspenseful and an amazing plot twist.
"The Girl in Seat 2A" by Diana Wilkinson,
is a thrilling page-turner that will captivate readers and take them on a suspenseful journey filled with unexpected twists and turns. Halfway through the book, I got a shock I wasn't expecting! Great job to Diana!
The story revolves around Jade, a beautiful woman, who has a strong desire to be a millionaire. After winning the lottery, she decides to take a vacation, and hopes to live the life of luxury if even for a short time. In a stroke of luck, Jade meets a mysterious man named Isaac during a flight to her destination. Little does she know that this encounter will change her life.
As Jade wakes up in Isaac's luxurious villa, she initially believes she is in the midst of an incredible dream. The opulence surrounding her and the charismatic presence of Isaac make her question her own reality. However, as the days pass, Jade begins to realize that her dream has turned into a nightmare.
Isaac, on the other hand, is a complex character who kept me guessing. His enigmatic personality and questionable motives add an air of unpredictability to the story.
Overall, I highly recommend this book. It combines elements of mystery, romance, and psychological suspense. With its well-drawn characters, atmospheric setting, and a plot filled with surprises, this book is sure to leave readers breathless and eager for more from this talented author.
This is my first time reading this author. Her writing is good and that premise was intriguing.
Jade, is flying to Spain. She may or may not have just won the lottery. She's hoping to have a great time on vacation and she's brought along her trusty new book, "How to live like a Millionaire." She meets a guy on the flight. He may or may not just be her dream man. He whisks her away to his luxurious villa and there she meets the housekeeper, Marta.
The story is told through Jade and Marta's point of view. I found Jade's story to be a little too drawn out. Once Marta's POV began I did enjoy this one a little more. It does have some twists and turns and a surprising ending. I did not much like the characters so that may have had an impact on my enjoyment of this.
It's a slow build but still a pretty entertaining one. I'd read something else by this author again.
A fantastic thriller expertly executed. It was truly unputdownable and I will definitely read more by this author!
I have just finished this book and overall I quite enjoyed it I wasnt sure whether it was a chick lit style book or a thriller style, in the end I dont think the book quite knew either! It took a while to get going but once it did it was quite addictive. i think it would have been better if the first half was shorter before the maid's version side of the story took over. but I would recommend it as a good beach read x
Woah! I literally couldn't put that down. I'm not entirely sure what I was expecting but this definitely beat those expectations and more.
I had to keep on reading to see how things turned out, especially after Part 1.
All I'll say is that there is one seriously creepy character, and I wanted to scream at Jade to come to her senses right from the start. I was so sure I knew where this book was going to take me, but I was wrong. There is more to it than I first thought, and there are some brilliantly brave women in this story.
Jade although I felt bad for her, I also at times found it hard to like her, she just kept making iffy decisions.
I will say though that I would not recommend reading the first chapter if you are on a flight, especially if you are a nervous flier. It certainly scared me, and I'm fine with flying, but the descriptions and Jade's fear really got to me.
Other than that it is perfect holiday reading, it's addictive, it's moreish and it's set in sunny Spain, and it's one you need to set aside time to read, as you will want to read it in one sitting.
Totally brilliant. I loved this a lot and was very impressed with it.
Thank you to Boldwood Books and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.
Plot
The Girl in Seat 2A has a unique and captivating storyline that I have never read before. The book features protagonist Jade, who embarks on a millionaire lifestyle and finding a partner whilst on holiday abroad in Marbella. However, not all is as first appears. Jade has secrets to hide about her funds, and she’s on the clock to secure the lifestyle for good.
There is enough action to keep the plot moving, but not so much to overwhelm. I enjoyed the pace and watching events as they unravelled.
The ending to The Girl in Seat 2A has a few surprises as well. Whilst I’d already got some measure of events as they played out, I didn’t work it all out! You sleuths out there will have your work cut out for you if that’s how you like to enjoy your thrillers!
Characters
If I’m honest, I found Jade unrelatable as a character and so I couldn’t really invest in her too much. I wouldn’t have put myself in her position in the first place and then, in my opinion, she makes questionable choices throughout. I spent most of her narrative frustrated with her.
Just because I didn’t get on with her doesn’t mean her part isn’t well written. Her character and personality are consistent throughout. They also shape those decisions I found myself mentally shouting at her for. Overall, she’s a well written character… just not my kind of person.
On the other hand, I found Martha a much more relatable and reliable character perspective. I would have liked to see more of her perspective, or perhaps it be more spaced out throughout the book. There is a perfectly good reason why the chapters and perspectives are set out the way they are, and it works. Had I enjoyed Jade’s character more I might feel differently. Martha was my favourite character though!
It is through Martha’s alternate perspective that we start to see some depth to other characters and events, but also the plot unravel. I’d already come to similar conclusions of what was happening but as I mention, there are still some surprises!
Narrative Style
The structure of split perspective’s definitely adds to The Girl in Seat 2A. Through the lens of Martha we get to see truths that we would never have experienced through the perspective of Jade. The change in narrative voice is also distinct and refreshing.
Each perspective is easy to read and follow. The book is also written through a multitude of short chapters, making this an approachable read for all and easy to pick up and put down as necessary.
Summary
Overall I rated The Girl in Seat 2A four stars. It’s an enjoyable psychological thriller that’s engaging and keeps the reader guessing what happens next!
The Girl in Seat 2A was a complete page turner. It was dark and twisty and I just could not put it down.
Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for my ARC.
My first Diana Wilkinson novel but definitely not my last! This book grabbed me from the very beginning and never let go. The characters were just wonderful and kept me flipping pages long into the night. Easy to get in to and tough to put down. Secrets and lies abound!
Thank you NetGalley, Diana Wilkinson and Boldwood Books for the opportunity to read and review this book
What a fabulous page turner!!

Such a thrilling book with a well written plot.
Loved it!
I have to admit that I wasn’t expecting a huge amount from this, but it surpassed my expectations. It’s a really engaging, twisty thriller that keeps you guessing until the very end and surprises you at regular intervals along the way. It’s an easy read, but a captivating one and I’d definitely recommend it for anyone wanting a good beach read!
