I like the NetGalley Reading Journal in that it gives visual organizers a place to put all of the things they’ve read and reviewed in a well organized. The personal goals section is a favorite because not all reading goals are about the number of them you’ve read and this leaves space for words rather than just a goal number.
I like that they gave this out for free. It was a fun little journal that I can’t wait to use more of.
Love this !! I think it's really cool that they gave this out for free !! I love a good journal I can import into my woodnotes app and interact with!
Amazing journal - thank you so much! I loved levelling up my reading experience with this. Beautiful features and very functional.
Has everything you need from a digital reading journal, can't wait to get started! Such a great idea!
Pretty interesting. I have been interested in starting a reading journal but I don’t think this one is for me. I think I would need something a little more simplistic and streamlined to keep up with on a regular basis. Busy life as a working mom would not allow me to keep up with such a detailed journal.
While I likely wouldn't use it myself, as I do the bare minimum of tracking my books using a spreadsheet, I have seen/heard many readers expressing a wish for a system to track the books they've read. This is a unique app-based system where users can take notes, add stickers and more.
Really useful tool to help me note my thoughts and use as a reminder. The more I read the more I forget or get mixed up so this is extremely helpful.
This is a very basic reading journal, and I would say it's target is more toward people reading 5ish books a month. If you read more than that and plan to review, there aren't enough pages. There are a few fun prompts and challenges is that's something you're looking for. Overall, if you need a basic, low-volume reading journal, this is it.
Very cool concept for an interactive PDF. As a graphic designer, I have to say that the design of it is a little outdated - the text outlined with a darker color doesn't work visually- and the colors used throughout are too dull. I feel like visually it could use some work. One of my favorite pages is the categories challenge! I think that was a very cute idea - but again, needs some work. The line weight on each part of the illustrations is so wildly inconsistent so it looks like they're not cohesive.
Overall, it's a little too busy for me to want to use it. If this was a physical book, maybe, but as a PDF it feels like information overload looking at every page. I like the concept but I don't think I'll be using it in the future as it's overwhelming visually.
This is a good Reading journal for you to keep track of the book you have read. You can download the pdf & use it as your own. It is very helpful & has the steps for it.
This is just a reading journal. I wanted it off my feedback shelf but don't really think it's a thing I should need to review.
Rating 4.5 rounded up to 5.
I have been using the NetGalley Reading Journal for about a month now. I started using it in March and retroactivity completed the journal for January and February. While Goodreads recommends Xodo or Goodnotes, I imported the journal into my Notability. It works great! All of the tab links are still functional. That's a big win!
There are so many aspects to this journal that I love. I enjoy the monthly "check-ins" and the formatting for the book reviews. I like the concept of the Netgalley Bingo, but the application may prove to be a little challenging. For example, I can request a book with an "Author's name has initials" or "Title Begins with an N", but if the books do not get approved by the publisher, then it's not as fun. I am going to use that for all of the books I read this year, not just the ones for NetGalley - same for the A-Z Challenge, and for the Categories Challenge. Obviously, as it is not the end of the year, I have not used the Wrap Up yet, but I am looking forward to it.
Outside of needing to pull additional resources for the games, which is no big issue, the biggest suggestion for improvement that I would have relates to the rating system. Much like how we are able to select the stars on NetGalley, adding some sort of way to do that in the journal would be helpful. I tried coloring in the stars and that looked janky. NetGalley does provide star stickers (check out the User Guide), which is very helpful. It's small inconvenience, but if that process could be improved, that would be a nice upgrade.
So kind of NetGalley to gift us this gorgeous reading journal! It has everything you could possible need and it’s super pretty!
I've paid for so many reading journals in the past but they were too confusing with too many pages to fill in, so this is perfect for me! 😄
What a fantastic resource this is. I really like the formatting of it and the templates. I know personally that I’m going to find this very useful to keep organised.
not very efficient. the stickers aren't actually stickers. not user friendly. i liked the format but there wasn't enough pages and spaces. the idea is coherent but the execution isn't.
This is such a great idea and really helps me save money and not having to buy a separate journal thank you
I love using this reading journal on my Ipad. It's makes it easier for me to be able to keep track of the books that I read and any notes that I take on them.
I love this journal! Thank you so much for creating it. I found the links to the Advocate Toolkit and other tips especially helpful! I look forward to using it to track my reading this year.
