A delightful story slightly based on Beauty and the Beast. This is a book that is well worth reading and I look forward to the next one, if there is to be one. 5 stars

An Enchanted Moment on Ever After Street is charming and sweet and everything my Disney-obsessed heart could ever ask for.

This book had me feeling so many glorious emotions. My heart was pitter-pattering, I had butterflies in my stomach, and I found myself holding my breath because I needed to know what would happen next. As you can probably imagine, I devoured this book in one sitting, and it was everything I could ever hope for. I love Beauty in the Beast; it's one of my favourite Disney movies, and Jaimie has done a fantastic job taking this tale as old as time and making it her own. The story has all those fabulous qualities that I have come to expect from Jaimie's storytelling. She is a master at creating those charming and heartwarming stories with a lot of depth. There are a lot of light and fluffy moments in this book, but also moments that have you feeling those deeper emotions. An Enchanted Moment on Ever After Street, is perfect for those bookworms who love Alison Sherlock or Maxine Morrey books.
This book is a retelling of Beauty and the Beast. We get to meet Marnie, a bookstore owner, in a bit of a rut. Since her mother's passing, Marnie has lost her spark and drive to run her family bookstore. All she wants to do is get lost in a book and let the world disappear around her. The book begins with Marnie getting a letter from the landlord stating that if she doesn't tidy up the store's back garden and start bringing in more customers, he is going to terminate her lease. When Marnie attempts to tame the mini jungle in her shop's backyard, she encounters Darcy, also known as Beast, by the locals. Marnie doesn't know what to make of her prickly neighbour, who often goes from gruff to nice in the blink of an eye. The two begin an unusual friendship. The two communicate over a hedge because Darcy does not want Marnie to see him. They work together to clean up Marnie's back garden and plan a book fair to help draw in more customers. I loved Jaimie's modern twist on the tale of Beauty and the Beast. She was clever and thoughtful when it comes to making this tale relevant in today's world. I loved all the little easter eggs she put into the story; they often had me smiling. Marnie is a bookworm, and her love for books just leaps from the pages. I lost count of the number of times I felt this connection with something Marnie said about why books are so important to her and the world. She is a kindred spirit to all those bookworms out there.
The theme of grief and how it can affect a person's life is central to the story. Marnie is dealing with the grief of losing her mom and no longer feels like the person she used to be. She feels lost and knows she needs to move on but doesn't know how. Darcy is dealing with a different form of grief. Without giving away any spoilers, his past has dictated how he is currently living his life. He is in this self-imposed exile and has shunned himself from the world. He is bitter and mean, but his behaviour is a product of the overwhelming grief he is trying to deal with. The journey that Marnie and Darcy go on is emotional and heartwarming. They create this wonderful support system for each other. Their growth in this story is remarkable and will definitely fill your heart with happiness.
The romance in this book is a delightful opposite attract, grumpy sunshine, a slow-burn love story. I adored Marnie and Darcy's meet-cute and interactions. The majority of Marnie and Darcy's relationship is spent with them talking to each other through a hedge that divides their backyards. I was worried at first that the lack of physical contact would hinder that sense of growing close or that their relationship wouldn't feel intimate. But that was not the case with Marnie and Darcy's relationship. Their conversations and the notes that Darcy left Marnie were meaningful and felt powerful. There was something deeper about the connection they formed through those conversations that felt right to me. I just ate up every one of their interactions and had to keep reading because I wanted to see what would happen next.

An Enchanted Moment on Ever After Street is an uplifting and unputdownable book, and I would recommend it to anyone who loves fairy tales.
Thank you, Boldwood Books and Rachel Random Resources, for the arc in exchange for an honest review.

Words can't express how much I love...

Jaimie Admans
Ever After After Street
A Tale as Old as Time Bookshop
The one initially known as the Beast
Just about everything to do with book and series

... for it is all just perfect, and amazing, and fabulous and I want more the whole time. I couldn't get enough of this story loving literally every single second of it.

Ok some of the big reveals I had guessed incredibly early on but I think you are meant to guess them but I had to keep reading to discover if I was going to be right, and for some of the reasoning too, as that I had no idea on. I just had a rather strong inkling about a few things!

And what a sense of community there is on Ever After Street, and we get to see more of all the characters we grew to love in the first book too, as well as getting to know two more residents of the street.

This really is a modern retelling of Beauty and the Beast, and it just works so so well. I'm reluctant to spill any actual details, as frankly I think every single book lover, and romance lover should read this, as its so good, so enjoyable, so readable, and so enchanting, and all the better for not having any preconceptions about any of the characters.

Suffice to say they both see significant development, there is a character who is I'd say even more ridiculously annoying and self obsessed than Gaston is, who I really wanted to hit him for myself, and being set in a bookshop that has had a threat of being closed - there are some great ideas for improving business.

But I'm determined that you should whether you already know how amazing this author is or not, that you should definitely read this book. It's just that good and easily one of her best (but I may say that ever time and its always true).

I just wish Ever After Street was a real place and I can't wait to see what fairy-tale we will get with the next book in the series (at least I hope there will be a next book).

Thank you to Boldwood Books and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

A beautiful spin on the Beauty and the Beast story with references to other wonderful childhood reading memories. The bookshop is a wonderful place on Ever After Street and getting to know Marnie is lovely. I loved her ideas for the business and with Mrs Potts by her side all she needed was the encouragement of Darcy to push her that little more out of her comfort zone. I’ve laughed and cried whilst reading and wanted to be part of Marnie’s world and visit A Tale As Old As Time.

This was a fabulous read and so much more than just a cosy festive read as it also covered a lot of thought provoking and sensitive issues. This is the second in book in this
series although could be read as a standalone. I hadn’t read the first one and it didn’t spoil my enjoyment. However as I loved it so much I am now going to seek the first book out to read.

This was a story of friendship love and loss and of new beginnings

I would love to visit the book shop Tale as old as time as it sounds like a magical place to be

I can’t wait to read the next instalment of this series to see how the characters lives progress.

This was surprisingly adorable. Beauty and the beast retellings are everywhere and so is the "I'm going to lose my bookshop" story line but Jaimie managed to put a whole new spin on it.
Did I predict all the plot twists? Absolutely but that didn't make it any less fun.

Thanks to the Publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.

Jamie Adman’s I absolutely loved this book, found it hard to put down.

I loved the first book and was so looking forward to reading this one. We meet Marnie, who since she lost her Mom, hasn’t felt like doing anything much.

Now, as she’s faced with eviction, she’s decided to do whatever she can to hold on to A Tale As Old As Time, and starts by trying to clean the garden at the back of the shop.

Her neighbour, the owner of the shop next door, who is referred to as the Beast, tells her he’ll help.

There is lots of drama, romance and some fairy tale scattered throughout the story.

I can’t wait for the next book.

I highly recommend this book.

A lovely book, I think I liked this more than the first book in the series. I'm hoping book 3 will follow cleo's story.

I really enjoyed this book. I like the Disney references and they don't detract from the story. Looking forward to more in this series.

An Enchanted Moment on Ever After Street is the second Jaimie Admans book I've reviewed after The Gingerbread house in Mistletoe Gardens. She creates settings well. I was pulled right into An Enchanted Moment on Ever After Street. A bookshop that's in trouble, and more difficulties are really getting to Marnie. I liked the name of the street, it was very unique. I would have liked more detail about the bookshop itself, it wasn't as visual as I'd have liked, but I did like the Beauty and the Beast Disney theme a lot. I liked the mention of books and authors I love: the Hedgehog Hollow series by Jessica Redland and Sophie Kinsella books.

Darcy was a well-created character too. I liked how they started to get to know, each other. I really didn't like Rick or what he did.

I really felt for Marnie through all her struggles. and was praying for her and the bookshop. Eviction is horrible, and the subject was dealt with in a sensitive way.

There's a good sense of community.

I enjoyed An Enchanted Moment on Ever After Street a lot. It's Book 2 in the series and I am looking forward to the others.

Thanks to Jaimie Admans, Rachel's Random Resources and Boldwood Books for my eARC in exchange for an honest and voluntary review.

4 stars.

Another absolutely delightful story on Ever After Street. Marnie is desperate to save her book store from being closed, but since her mom has passed her lack of desire to do more than was needed has caused things to slip, especially her beloved garden. Her neighbor, who is referred to as a Beast. offers to help. Their friendship is the light they both needed to rejoin the world of Ever After. Lots of fun, some drama, romance, and of course a little fairy tale sprinkled in . An easy to read, feel good story about love, friendship, and acceptance.
I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Marnie still runs A Tale As Old As Time, the bookshop that her & her mum started before her mum’s death two years ago. A bookish and lonely soul, she’s let both the business and the shop go a little since then, and is now threatened with eviction if she can’t change its fortunes and recover the overgrown back garden. As Marnie gets to know her green fingered beastly neighbour at The Beast’s Enchanted Rose Garden, she discovers that there is more to life than existing- if only she could convince him of that too.

As their two worlds collide, Marnie comes to realise that they have more in common than she initially thought, but will their fledgling friendship have a happy ending?

A modern day version of Beauty and the Beast, this is also a book about book lovers, for book lovers! You can choose to read it in a story teller’s voice and imagine the scenery as a fantasy world with one foot in reality, or in your usual voice & imagine it as a street in an olde worlde town with one foot in the air fairytale book, which makes this a nice genre crossover.

Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for an ARC in exchange for an honest review. My review will be published on Goodreads and Amazon on the book’s publication date.

Oh Jaimie, thank you so much for another wonderful story from Ever After Street. This telling of Marnie and Darcy was absolutely beautiful and I need to go to a book festival in a castle and have a friendship date, thanks again

This was a lovely read. Could have done without Rick but every fairy tale needs a baddie to show how much better the good parts are. It was a comfortable and endearing read. I really like reading about ever after street.

A glorious feel good book where heartbreak and loneliness can get fixed with the help of your friends. Even if they are new friends you have been pushing away with the best of intentions. I enjoyed finishing this on Christmas Day curled up on my sofa.

Marnie Platt runs the bookshop A Tale As Old As Time on Ever After Street but since her mum's death she is struggling and that has had a knock on effect on the business, when she is threatened with eviction by her landlord after a complaint about the shop's overgrown garden, she fears she will lose everything, then a chance encounter with her reclusive neighbour changes everything. Darcy O'Connell owns the flower shop, The Beast's Enchanted Rose Garden, next door to Marnie but he keeps himself hidden from the rest of the traders, so it's a surprise when he comes to Marnie's aid, could their unlikely friendship be just what they both need to get their lives back on track?

We are back for another visit to the quaint Ever After Street and this time the author brings us a take on the story of Beauty and the Beast. Admans creates her characters so well that you can't help but fall in love with them instantly and this is what happened when I met Marnie and Darcy. I loved the relationship that blossomed between them, each having their own insecurities and I was intrigued why Darcy refused to show himself to anyone, when the reason was finally revealed my heart broke for him. This was a story of self worth and loving from within, the old adage of beauty is only skin deep is absolutely true, it's what's inside that counts and if anyone deserved a fairy tale ending it was these two. I love everything about this series, with its close knit community and I'm looking forward to what book three has in store.

I'd like to thank Boldwood Books and Netgalley for the approval, I will post my review on Goodreads now and Amazon on publication day.

“An Enchanted Moment on Ever After Street” is a beautiful story. It is a very welcome return to the fairy tale street, where we meet old friends and meet new ones in Marnie and her reclusive “scary” neighbour Darcy.

The story really is a “Tale as Old As Time” just like the name of the Beauty and the Beast themed bookshop owned by Marnie. This tale is one of strangers that become true friends over an overgrown hedge before they even set eyes on each other. Marnie is lonely and grieving the loss of her Mother and Darcy hiding several secrets and grief of his own behind a physical disguise as well as the hedge separating his beauteous rose garden and Marnie’s weed ridden one. It is a tale of guilt, love, loss, friendship, kindness, secrets, obsession and best of all books. How the shared love of the spoken and written word can break down walls (or hedges!) and bring people together.

Reading this as a Netgalley ARC brought a welcome light into the dark December evenings. I put down my seasonal favourites in favour of another trip to Ever After Street, knowing that the story would be heartwarming and well worth reading.

I long to visit a bookshop just like “Tale As Old As Time”. There are so many literary references in the book books that I have read and enjoyed shared sentiments that I could really empathise with Marnie.

Jaimie writes books I love to read that transport me into modern day fairy tales but still remind me that happy ever after doesn’t mean no worries. All the characters in this book and others, go on a journey before finding the safety, trust and happiness they deserve by being with and fighting for those they love even through adversity.

I very much look forward to visiting Ever After Street again.

An Enchanted Moment on Ever After Street is the second book in a series, but can be read on its own.
If you like Disney there are a lot of Disney references.

This story is a modern Beauty and the Beast story.
Great for a Disney retelling
