A very unusual read. I really enjoyed this book as all book lovers will. A lovely story which incorporates the Beauty and the Beast story with a real life situation. There are some great mentions of some of my favourite authors as well.
Another brilliant read. I love this Author and her style of writing. The characters are believable and you soon become involved in each one’s storyline. They feel like friends you don’t want to leave when the story comes to a close. I highly recommend this.
This was one of the best romance novels I have read this year.it was completely unique in that it was a beauty and the beast retelling set completely in the modern world. The character dynamics were absolutely perfect. And there was a furry side kick in the form of a cuddly kitty named Mrs. Potts I mean how perfect does that sound? This absolutely will make my list of best books I read in 2023, so what better book to start the new year off when it's published!
I think the reason I loved this book so much is the underlying themes of self worth and self confidence in both the main character and the love interest. Marnie clearly has some kind of neurodivergence and struggles with everyday conversations. Darcy has been in some sort of accident that has left him supposedly deformed and has become a social recluse. As someone who can identify with both struggles, it warmed my heart to watch them both bring out the best in each other throughout the book. Darcy shows Marnie just how much of a badass she is as she tries to save her bookshop from being evicted.in turn Marnie allows Darcy to strip down the layers of safety he's built around himself. It's all super heartwarming, but not in a toxic positivity way, which I appreciate.
I really loved the premise of the book festival too! If you're on TikTok you might get starfall ball vibes like did.I would totally go to the event because the author made it feel like a book lover's paradise -
Also shoutout to the Gaston character. He's disgusting and dastardly and me screaming out while reading.
What a treat to be back on Ever After Street! This book focuses on Marnie, the owner of the bookshop. Marnie has been struggling since losing her mum, who opened the shop with her.
The story has themes of Beauty and the Beast and I love all these references as well as the strong book theme! A perfect book for book lovers!
I love the story, I love meeting new characters as well as checking in on those whose stories we have already heard. A wonderful tale of beauty, love, community and redemption.
Guaranteed to make you smile!
What a beautiful book. Definitely my favourite book by Jaimie Admans in a long time! It was so romantic, so heartfelt and just so magical!
Hope to be back on Ever After Street soon.
This was a sweet story. Wonderfully written. Jaimie Admans did a great job writing An Enchanted Moment on Ever After Street. This story follows Marnie and Darcy. Marnie has been struggling since her mums death and finds talking with Darcy lifting her spirits. Darcy hides himself away because of an accident many years ago. The world has not seen his face. He keeps it well hidden. As he gets closer and closer to Marnie he feels like a connection as well. Let's mention that Darcy is also a grump! When Mrs Potts gets away, the cat, Darcy ends up in another accident saving her. Marnie rescues him and finally sees the real Darcy.
What a sweet story, you won't regret picking it up!
This is a beautiful book! It’s like a modern beauty and the beast and it shows us that it doesn’t matter what we look like on the outside it’s what is in the inside that matters.
I have loved this book from start to finish and I couldn’t put it down, this is the second book in the ever after street series and I can’t wait for more as I have thoroughly enjoyed both books in this series!
I would highly recommend reading this series and this book as they are both beautiful!
Thank you very much to NetGalley for giving me this opportunity to read this book!
A stunning modern day Beauty and The Beast and I'm here for it. I've loved the Ever After series and I can't wait to read hopefully more in this series.
Loved Marnie and Darcy's characters, they worked so well together. Rick was an arrogant piece of work and was willing Marnie to punch him.
Simply stunning read ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
An adorable story set in a small town on a street modeled after fairy tales, what's not to love? As a long-time fan of Beauty and the Beast, this was a book I naturally found myself drawn to. The bookstore is called A Tale As Old As Time and the business next door is called The Beast's Enchanted Rose Garden. How could I resist? I also adore this author's writing style, as she is able to so easily draw in the reader and build up romantic tension in a closed door setting. I never miss the intimacy, as it's written all over the page in emotions, glances, soft touches and the beautiful connections she builds in her characters. If you're looking for the perfect read for a quiet night in, your search is over with this enchanted romance.
Marnie Platt is struggling to keep her bookstore profitable after her mother's passing. A natural introvert with a tendency to make friendships online rather than in person, she has no one to turn to when she receives a letter from her landlord stating that there's been a complaint against her for her overgrown garden, and given the less-than-desirable outlook of her store, she has six weeks to turn things around or be evicted. Devastated, she escapes to said garden and bursts into tears...and is promptly interrupted by her neighbor, Darcy O'Connor. Darcy owns the flower shop next door, and although he does his best to stay far away from people, he can't help but want to help Marnie, even if he refuses to show her his face. Soon they're striking up conversation through the fence, and it's not long before they start bonding over tea and Marnie's favorite book. Darcy's doom and gloom outlook on life may be threatened by Marnie's ever-present sunshine, but love begins to bloom as does their comfort with each other. But Darcy is keeping a secret that may ruin any change of a relationship if Marnie were to ever find out about it. And even love may not be able to save it...unless they both are willing to give it a go.
The grumpiest of grumps makes an appearance in this story, with our main man, Darcy, putting up good competition for the top prize in the Grump category. Hidden from the world physically, he has no interest in getting involved in anyone's life let alone the chattering bookseller next door. Thankfully Marnie can talk enough for the both of them, and she knows just what to do say to get Darcy to come out of his shell. These two were absolutely made for each other. Although Darcy initially got some points docked for throwing Marnie's favorite book over the fence. Bad Darcy. But he makes up for it with his genuine care for her future and his bravery in facing his demons to help her overcome the challenges in her life. His backstory was so tragic, and I wanted to jump right into the book to give him a hug. He is such a good person at heart, but he let one tragedy define him for years. Only when he met someone unwilling to accept that he is a bad person did he finally see that he could find happiness and love again. Marnie brought out the best in him, and he was an amazing support system for her during such a lonely time in her life. The scene where he finally reveals himself to Marnie was so beautiful. I would re-read this book immediately just for that scene.
I have read two books by this author so far, and both have been beautifully written with layered characters and a plot that left me in happy tears. I look forward to reading whatever she has in store for us next!
An enchanted moment on ever after street
So I absolutely loved the first Ever After street book in the series called A Midnight Kiss on Ever After Street so I was dying to get into this one especially since it is based on my favourite Disney film Beauty and the Beast and it did not disappoint.
First off I want to say how swoon worthy Darcy is and how sorry I felt for him. So we meet Marnie who works at the bookshop on ever after street and her unknown neighbour Darcy who works at the flower shop next door. Both very similar in ways and it was beautiful to read their friendship development as it happened slowly and gradually. Rick is an absolute awful character and definitely villain like just like let's say Gaston.
I loved the community feel of this book and reading Darcy and Marnies story of two lovely neighbours who become friends through their mutual love of books but our male protagonist is dark, broody and tainted and when we find out why it's absolutely heartbreaking.
5 stars for everything it made me laugh, smile and cry throughout.

This was a really lovely story Inspired by the Beauty and the Beast. Marnie runs a bookstore and forms an unexpected relationship with her grumpy neighbor were they talk through their fences and he covers himself from head to toe due to some past trauma.
It’s a story about not judging a book by its cover and learning to trust and love oneself. Marnies and “The Beast” relationship felt very honest and genuine were they actually got to know one another. They got to help each other through grief and trauma while accepting each other as they were. I also like how the community got together to help them out. This story really made me want to own a bookstore, it was so cute.
Thank you to NetGalley, Boldwood Books and Jaimie Admans for the chance to read this ARC in exchange of an honest review.
Thank you NetGalley and publisher for this ARC!
I loved this book!!! It was so good! Cute easy read. I enjoyed the authors writing style. I loved the storyline.
We are back on Ever After Street but this time we follow Marnie, owner of Tale as Old As Time bookshop. Marnie gets some bad news about the shop and a chance meeting with her neighbour who wants to help- will they be able to save the bookshop?
Yes yes keep them coming!! I absolutely love Jaimie Admans books, the perfect blend of wonderful characters, gorgeous sounding locations and a lovely whimsical story which is so easy to become totally invested in!! There is nothing better than knowing you have one of her books waiting to be read, you can just chill for a while knowing you’ll love it 🥰
From Jaimie Admans comes the second book in her Ever After series. This time we are pulled into the world of Marnie Patt who is having a hard time following her mother's death. With her beloved bookshop risking going bust she finds one Darcy O'Connell entering her life as it turns her world upside down. Can she let herself be drawn into this new friendship, maybe letting her heart open with new and old friends and maybe, just maybe, see her bookstore thrieve once more.
Jaimie is quickly becoming an author I just have to read and this book has a few of my favourite things: books. love, a fairylike street and a character's unforgettable journey. Can't wait to read the next book in the series.
Marnie has shut herself away since her mums death. Her bookshop on Ever After Street is also suffering. She discovers her landlord isn't renewing her lease. Her neighbour Darcy who is known as the beast because he's all covered up steps in to help her. Lovely book. Feel good romance
This is a Beauty and The Beast retelling, so utterly predictable and not at all original. Still, despite not liking the actual movie, I found this to be a cute read.
The descriptions are really good, the reader feels as if they are there, which is a nice change. I am a huge fan of the ‘love who someone is on the inside’ trope, I guess I am drawn to what I never had.
Although the second in the series, this can definitely be read as a stand-alone.
Thank you to NetGalley for a copy of this ARC in return for my honest opinions.
Admans has the unique ability to take a classic story and put her own twist on it, effectively rewriting it with both modern and fantastic elements. In this story, we revisit Beauty and the Beast...and it doesn't disappoint! With a grieving daughter trying to hold on to her business, and a grouchy neighbor who is battling his own grief and scars, these two somehow manage to heal each other from the inside out. It's a beautiful story, and I can't wait to see which fairy tale she tackles next!
Beauty & The Beast is my favourite Disney tale and Jaimie does it justice with this book!!!
This is the second in the series but can be read as a stand-alone. I can't wait for more!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Boldwood Books through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. Thank you, Boldwood Books! I've also pre-ordered a copy.
Jamie Adman’s just writes magical books for adults. I love how she mentions her author friends names in the book. Good to be back Ever after street. You have a bitter x, a beautiful book shop, a troubled book shop owner Marnie who has lost her mum, a cute cat and the most beautiful slow burn love story with lots of twists. You get lost in the book. A beautiful ending.
