This is a chilling slow burn thriller set in a former private school which is now the temporary residence of a group of property guardians including newcomer Marlow who has serious misgivings about moving in here given that she went to school here herself and has many bad and complex memories associated with it. The plot itself is simple but well thought out and each character has enough quirks to make you wonder just what’s their story and whats behind the strange occurrences at the school and what happened to the tenant that Marlow replaced after they left suddenly. This wasn’t a total page turner for me but it was still a very enjoyable read with a good creepiness to it with the location and the additional sections with the former pupil who was obsessed with Marlow added to the intrigue.

This was the perfect amount of dark and twisty! It's not the most realistic storyline but it's a work of fiction so it doesn't have to be. It is however very entertaining! The guardian spin made the whole story so original and was a really nice touch to whst could have been a bit of a samey plot line to plenty others but I was really fascinated by that idea. The characters are also well written with an engaging writing style that kept me hooked and had my flying through to the end

I’ve read all of Lesley Kara’s other books, but this is probably the best one I’ve read,
It’s a dark and mysterious thriller that brings lots of twists.
I really enjoyed this book and would certainly recommend.

Marlow is a property guardian who is used to living in strange places. She accepts a place in a new building, one that has dark connections in her past and finds out that another tenant, Hayley, has gone missing. Soon she becomes
obsessed finding out what happened. What secrets will come to light?

I enjoyed Lesley Kara’s debut novel, The Rumour and have read all her books since then. The Other Tenant is up there with one of my favourites. I found the writing style engaging and the use of the property guardian added an interesting, unique spin on an overused storyline. There are quite a few characters to get your head around but they are well written and have their own personalities. I enjoyed the chapters told in alternate voices and although the pacing dipped in a few places, it quickly picked up again. I enjoyed trying to work out the puzzles and there are a few twists and turns thrown in, some that I did not guess!

I wasn’t as keen on the conclusion and felt it was slightly underwhelming after all the build up but there were some tense final scenes which held me in suspense and made me want to carry on reading. I would also have liked to have seen more conclusions to some of the sub plots as they seem to not be fully resolved and left quite open. Overall, this was a good, entertaining thriller and I look forward to seeing what the author comes up with next. Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for this copy in return for an honest review.

A twisty mystery which had some good creepy moments and i also did not get the correct villain.

I have loved all of Lesley Kara's previous books but i found this a little far fetched and i have to say not one of this author's best. An ok read sadly. My thanks to netgalley and the publisher for my copy.

Book was ok. I feel like it’s an overdone plot. Marlow ends up living at her old school which has been secrets from her past. Weird things happen. Someone ends dead although they try to keep it hidden by “being in touch with her family.” Then it comes to light that Marlow really is guilty of things in the past.
