There are some authors that I have come to rely on for a satisfying read. This is one such author. I try not to stay these books at night because I end up wanting to see how things pan out and end up losing sleep over it!

This would have been a full five stars if not for the additional love match which seemed extra to the tale. I was enjoying all the bonding everyone was doing until that point.

This is a story of mothers and daughters. Flora and her mother have been a team. So it is to her that she runs when her home situation falls apart. Kate gave up on a relationship with her mother years ago. It is to Flora that Kate runs when she finds herself in a fix. Kate's mother follows soon after on her own accord as she feels like it's high time she fixes her own relationship. The sorrow that Lola is experiencing has its own tale, something that helps her find a new start in life.

These women are strong and facing a few hiccups along the way. They encourage each other and move forward with their dreams. It is a very positive book with a lot of good people and a few terrible ones ( what's a book without villains anyway).

I really enjoy the writing style and the kind of people I continue to encounter in this town. This is not a series in its true sense, but some people do figure in more than one book on the sidelines. Since I do not retain names for too long, I do not actively look for people I have previously read about. Basically, I would recommend picking this up even if you have not ventured into Sandycove before.

I received an ARC thanks to Netgalley and the publishers but the review is entirely based on my own reading experience.

I have always loved reading books by Irish authors and this one didn't disappoint. It is a great summer read, enjoyable, entertaining and fun. This is a story of life, forgiveness and coming home. Putting the past behind you and becoming a part of the community and having family and friends around you.

I do love the way the book is written and the way the author portrays the characters. She makes us the readers, feel as if we know these characters and we are there in the story with them. I do enjoy books that pull you in like that. A great book, great read and definitely recommend this one.

Thank you NetGalley and Boldwood Books for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.

When Kate O’Hare discovers she’s about to become a mother, she packs up her life in France to return home to regroup and put down some roots. Home is where the heart is, right?
On her return to Ireland, Kate is surprised to find her best friend Flora’s marriage and self-esteem is in tatters following her husband’s rather public betrayal. With no marriage, home, or future, can Kate empower Flora to rediscover herself and reignite the career she put on hold to marry the man she thought she’d spend the rest of her life with?
On the other side of the Atlantic, Kate’s estranged mother, Lola, is heartbroken following the loss of her soulmate, Paulie. On hearing Kate’s plan, Lola too decides to return home to seek a second chance at motherhood with her daughter.
I so enjoyed reading this! It’s so fun, it’s funny, it’s poignant and true at points, and it has been the most welcome escape during a mad time in life!!! If you’re looking for something light and sweet, this is the one.

This my second Sandycove story and I loved it. Warm, relatable characters and an uplifting heartwarming plot, it left me with a smile on my face and a warm, fuzzy feeling inside. The story was told brilliantly from the different Pov’s with each woman having a distinct voice. Highly Recommend

Aww it was so good to be back in sandycove.
It was nice to hear about the inhabitants of the village and the swimming group.
I again liked the journeys the character’s went on. Lola was a big charachter and you can see how her daughter got lost. I really liked the friendships and the scenery and it made me desperate for fish and chips.
Thank you NetGalley for this arc in exchange for an honest review.

Honestly took me a minute to get into, for me was a bit slow but once it got going it was a good book. It wasn’t something I normally would read and I’m glad I did. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

This is a first book that I have read by this author. I was totally immersed from the opening page. A beautifully written book based on an idyllic village in Ireland. Flora lives in Sandycove with her husband who unfortunately is not as honest as he should be. A crisis develops and Flora has to make alternate decisions regarding her life. Flora’s friend Kate who lives in France has developed her own problems and decides to return to Sandycove unaware that Flora is facing her own crisis.. Flora’s mum Patsy is widowed and lives in Sandycove. Lola (Kate’s mum) a singer lives in California.
The storyline follows the journey of the four women who all have unique characters. This book covers so many different emotions which are relatable to most women..
When unexpected problems are thrown at these four women they’re drawn to Sandycove and it’s there that they help one another to overcome their problems.
I would like to thank Netgalley for inviting me to read and review this book. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it, it was unputdownable.

This was my first Sandycove book and I really enjoyed it.
Telling the stories of Flora, Kate, Lola and Patsy, this book is a great read. Full of Irish character and satisying storylines.
Sian O'Gorman is a modern day Maeve Binchy.

A great read set in Sandycove. Entertaining, engaging and easy to read , the plot is fairly predictable but well told from different points of view. There are some serious issues such as family relationships which give a thoughtful aspect to the book . The setting, in a small town in Ireland, is well portrayed and the tongue in cheek Irish humour made me smile. Definately a feel good factor !

Thanks to Net Galley for the ARC, in exchange for an honest review

I was so happy to be reading another Sandycove story it is a perfect uplifting read for the winter months. I loved the unique stories of the four women but also the fact their connections and love for each other is so beautifully written. I found it so so easy to get lost in the heartwarming narrative of self love and rediscovering who you are and movinh forward. If you easy read based around lifelong friendship and love then this is perfect. #sianogorman #thegirlsfromsandycove #goodreads

Absolutely loved this book. Sian wrapped you up from the very beginning as if you were one of the characters. I could envision the story enfolding with the depth of the characters and the storyline. Couldn't put this book down. I could see this as a television show.
