Can you imagine writing emails to your family, work colleagues, the boss you ‘like’ and everyone else in your life…..but putting exactly what you would say to them if you could, then keeping them all secret in a safe folder……then one day you wake to find out a server error has sent them,to everyone…..nightmare…..well this happens to Millie and to say her life is turned on it’s head is no exaggeration as friend/foe and everyone in between suddenly finds out what she really thinks of them
It is,of course,a disaster and you can’t help but put yourself in Millie’s shoes as she walks into work the next day…..but as the story progresses she turns it to her advantage and a love story emerges from within the chaos,Millie being Millie though it doesn’t happen without many complications
This is a fun,lol romantic comedy but with surprising depth and emotion and it was a joy to meet Millie and get to know her and be with her through a terrible time ( although funny ) and see how her life changed
The author’s writing was gteat to read and loved the way she described lovely comforting smells and also described a stray dog having Robert Smith from The Cure’s eyes!
I really felt I shared this bumpy journey with Millie and was pleased to be there,a very enjoyable book

I absolutely LOVED this book…the smile on my face at the end and the happy tears that welled up in my eyes said it all. Better Left Unsent is my favourite from Lia Louis so far, and Millie Chandler was just the most fantastic character, even if she didn’t see how fantastic she was straight away.

Millie’s worst nightmare occurs when the whole of her drafts folder in her emails is sent out. So all of those drafted but never sent ranting emails, brutally honest emails, emotional outputs, the inner thoughts that no one else was ever supposed to see, are suddenly out their amongst her colleagues, friends and family. Despite wanting to go into hibernation for the rest of her life, Millie is helped through the crisis by loveable flatmate Ralph, best friend Cate, amazing boss Petra, and perhaps more surprisingly to Millie, colleague/boss Jack.

Jack was an absolute dreamboat and to be honest I am now in love with him too 😅 Jack helps Millie to think a little bit differently, and rediscover who she actually is, especially following her previous relationship where ex partner (and utter 🍆head) Owen took a lot away from her. Millie and Jack both clearly start to fall for each other, but Jack is leaving to go travelling in just a few weeks. Is this just yet another heartbreak for Millie?

The chemistry between Millie and Jack was incredible and I could not keep the grin off my face every time they were together, I was exactly like how Cate acted in the book 😂 I loved how Jack was so set on help encouraging Millie to be herself and not the person she thought she needed to be. Loved the friendship between Millie and Cate, and Millie and Petra. Cate and Ralph were also so cute!! Just a really great, heartwarming, enjoyable read 😊

If somebody tells you they’ve never written a strongly worded email, love note, scathing letter or just an honest opinion, and not sent it, they’re probably lying. In this Millie has done all of the above and I’m so grateful for the laughter and cuddly warm feelings it also gave me. There’s a lot to be said to understand and appreciate love in its different forms in this. Was lovely to follow Millie on her path to discovering what it truly is and who she is. Loved it, look forward to reading more funny, warm and fuzzy kind of romances from Lia!

The best Lia Louis yet! I absolutely devoured this charming romcom. Jack was the sweetest love interest I have read in some time. The whole set up was hilarious and totally plausible. Who hasn't drafted an email they never planned on sending?

Big five stars for this one!

Thanks to Zaffre, Lia Louis & Netgalley for this arc. 🙌

I have loved multiple books by Lia Louis but unfortunately this one just wasn't for me. I wasn't a huge fan of the lead character, I found her to be very over the top and annoying so I just couldn't gel with her. I also thought I would enjoy the concept but it was done in a bit of a slapstick way and I just didn't enjoy it. Perhaps if we had gotten to know the lead character before the incident happened, it may have been better? But unfortunately it just wasn't for me.

This was. An okay read. The premise was interesting and the lead Millie was likeable enough. I found parts of the story a bit slow , around her job, her parents issues, and had to skim read a bit. I hated the Owen sub plot and think a little more Jack would have been better. I liked the author’s writing and characters so whilst it was not my favourite think others might enjoy it more.

Since getting dumped by her boyfriend Owen two years ago, Millie Chandler has vowed to keep everything to herself with her only outlet being the emails she writes to people but never sends. Unfortunately, after a day of the servers being down at work, Millie returns to find every single draft email has been sent. Every sarcastic reply, every message to her best friend about how much she hates her best friends boyfriend and a declaration of love to her ex-boyfriend that's been sent to the whole company. Now Millie needs to try and fix the chaos she might have caused and deal with a new love interest.

This was such a cosy, lovely story. I flew through this and enjoyed every minute of it. I liked that this wasn't just about the romance it's more about Millie finding her way in the world again after a toxic romance and not going in the same direction as her brother, as she's not married or bought a house and her realising that that's OK and that its OK to not have your life together. I enjoyed watching her and Jack get together, and I also enjoyed that this was a clean romance. I just wish there had been more of Millie and Jack, and I really want a story about Cate and Ralph, too. The only reason that this is not 5 stars is because it feels too familiar, like something I've already read. But I still highly recommend it!

Mille Chandler, a receptionist, likes to keep her thoughts to herself. To vent and reflect on her thoughts she writes them in her draft e-mail folder, never to be seen be anyone else. Until one day she wakes up and they have all been sent and her world is turned into chaos.

This is my first book by this author and I picked it up as I found the storyline intriguing. What happens if all your private thoughts are shared with the world? I found that this was a fun, warm read, however I found that it dragged a lot and sometimes I found myself drifting off and skimming sections. I couldn’t connect fully to the characters and found the main character slightly irritating. Overall a nice light hearted read but a bit too slow and repetitive for me. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this copy in return for an honest review.

Millie Chandler can't imagine of anything much worse than all of her innermost thoughts and musings being sent out into the world. She often drafts emails to people to tell them why they've upset her (good friend Alexis), or doesn't feel good enough (her mum, who seems to prefer Millie's brother) , or how you wished you had kissed him but hadn't had the courage (hot boss Jack). But she absolutely does not want them to be read by anyone, they are a way for her to process her feelings and move on through life without causing a fuss or upsetting anyone.

But when an IT glitch at work means that all of Millie's emails have been sent in one fell swoop, she has to confront all of those people at once. Poor Millie doesn't know where to turn first, how can she unsend all of those messages and put her life back in the comfortable, if dull, place that it was before.

There's no turning back time so Millie has to work out the best way forward; emails have been sent to work colleagues, family, friends, businesses - there's nowhere to hide. Together with her lovely flatmate Ralph, best mate Cate and supported at work by the aforementioned hot boss Jack, she has to piece together her life. Is this the opportunity for Millie to find out what she wants from life rather than worrying about what everyone else might possibly think of her or want from her?

'Better Left Unsent' is such an entertaining read; the deluge of draft emails at the start of the book is so cringeworthy and hilarious in equal measure. I really felt for Millie, her whole life ethos is to cause as little disruption as possible, and then a whirlwind spins everything on its head and turns things upside down and there's no way of escaping it.

I enjoyed her journey throughout the book, and liked the supporting characters of Cate and Ralph . The romantic side of the story was well laid out too with just the right amount of 'will they, wont they' and missed moments - lovely stuff!

Can you imagine sharing your innermost thoughts with everyone? That's exactly what happens when Millie's draft emails, where she had vented her fears, frustrations and feelings, are sent without her knowledge. So begins a story of facing up to the resulting fallout and trying to piece her life back together. This is not my favourite Lia Louis book but was still an enjoyable read.

This is soulful and an enchanting romance. And definitely a must-read for all romance lovers looking for a story that will touch your heart and leave you happy but wanting more of the characters.

Well firstly I was super excited to be offered an arc from netgalley for Lia's newest book. I'm an avid fan of her writing and I've been waiting for this book with much anticipation.

What a premise! Imagine writing your true feelings down in draft emails.. a great way to get things off your chest .. quietly. Until an IT glitch means those drafts... those emails better left unsent are sent!

This was such a fun read, I loved reading all the ranty emails to bosses and friends. I cringed alongside Millie, as she felt like her world was in chaos and all she could do was try to hide away in the office red faced with embarrassment.

Although, some truths from Millie meant that people actually started to think maybe the annoying boyfriend was annoying or maybe being honest about more is actually the best way to be.

I loved the characters and love interest in this book. I rooted for Millie as a mc and overall I enjoyed this light hearted rom com.

What would you do if all your inner dialogue was suddenly out in the world? Millie (FMC) writes all of her thoughts down in her emails and keeps them in her drafts never to be sent or seen by anyone, until suddenly they are all sent out into the world causing Millie to reevaluate her entire life. Funny, cozy and heartwarming this was a beautifully easy read and a clear 5 stars.
I will say that I have read every single one of Lia Louis’ books so far and have them proudly sat on my bookshelves, so it was a wonderful experience to be accepted for this ARC and to honestly review one of my own known and loved authors.
The story itself had an amazing premise and the evolution of the romance between Millie and Jack had me smiling throughout the book and kicking my feet at how adorable it was. Lia Louis also has a way of writing more serious topics within her books without it being too heavy.
She brings up aspects of emotional abuse and manipulation from a partner however focuses more on the side of the individual recognising those behaviours and overcoming obstacles.
Although this book is a romance, I do think it focuses more on our main character and how she evolves as a person throughout the story. We see her gain her independence, learn to love herself and become the person she really wants to be.
My only complaint is that I want more of the book and I want to read more of the emails that were sent out.
I highly recommend this book, its fun, cute and a very easy read. I cant wait to read more from this author.

3.5⭐️! Such fun and flirty banter in this book with quirky characters. However, I feel like I’ve read similar storylines before which I preferred and found myself skipping sections within this book. I enjoyed reading most of it but some parts dragged a little for me. But having said that: great side character storylines who were very likable and enjoyable to read about. Classic character types as well seen here. Probably wouldn’t reread but would recommend for an easy palate cleanser romance

After some I.T issues at work, Millie discovers all her emails have been sent, including The Drafts. These were the emails she had written to people letting out her feelings and frustrations, but she never had any intention of sending them. Now Millie has to confront her colleagues, friends and family about what was written in these emails whether she likes it or not.

These draft emails have repercussions, her best friend Cate has left her partner Nicholas, her other friend Alexis has blocked her and the wedding of her ex, Owen, to colleague Chloe is now off.

This book dealt with so many aspects from toxic relationships and true friendships to never living up to expectations and finding love.

I felt some parts of the book dragged out a bit but I loved the premise as well as the characters. Overall, I thought the story was heart warming but also deals with some sensitive issues such as emotional abuse and betrayal.

This is the first book I have read from Lin Louis but I look forward to reading more of her work.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read the advanced copy.

My first book from Lia Louis!

I initially requested this arc because the premise was reminiscent to an adult version of 'To All the Boys I Loved Before' and 'I Hope this Doesn't find you' as the main characters struggle when their personal thoughts written in either letters or emails are sent out to their intended recipients.

While I did enjoy the book, at times it felt very slow and dragging. It was more of a women's fiction/chick-lit over a romance. The ending felt incredibly convenient but the friendships between Millie, Cate and Ralph were really sweet and overall, it was a very light and quick read.

Trigger warnings: emotionally abusive relationships

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the arc in exchange for my honest thoughts!

Oh Lia Louis you little beaut, you’ve struck again.

I loved the different formats used throughout this book, and the backstory/plot line I would quite original.

The main female character I found incident overly connect with, and I would’ve liked more of an arc in terms of her development and strength of mind - particularly in relation to her friend and ex.

LOVED the side character friends of Kate and her roommate though b

This was such a cute romcom! It was so fun and cute filled with great banter. This book was so easy to read and flowed so well and it is a great book to read when in need of a palette cleanser! It was everything I could have hoped from a romcom and I definitely recommend this book if your looking for a good romance book!

With a premise like this, how could I not request to read it?! I love a book set in the workplace, it's such an interesting environment with so much potential for stories.

I really enjoyed reading the emails which Millie had written to people when she thought they would never read them. There were a fun mix of big revelations to friends and family, and silly rants to annoying colleagues. This balance was really entertaining. I liked Millie and enjoyed following her story, but for me the shining lights in this book were the supporting characters, especially Ralph and Vince (I really hope that Vince got Gail in the end! He deserves to be happy with her).

My only issue with the book is that I do think it went on a bit, I don't think it needed to be as long as it was.

Overall I did really enjoy reading this book and would recommend it.
