I received an ARC of this novel from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
While, I do believe that this novel could be read as a stand alone, it's an excellent sequel to the first in the series. I love Noah and Tress and the supporting characters who are blatantly rooting for them. The ending was very satisfying.
I was so excited to read one year after you and I can assure you I was not disappointed.
I decided to reread one year with you just before starting its sequel but I didn’t have to as this book recapped it perfectly (although I’d recommend both highly!).
I loved this book. I loved catching up with Tress and Noel and seeing how they had coped with their year. It was great to meet new characters. I love Shari Lows novels and this was another expertly woven, gorgeous characters and gripping storyline. Highly recommend
Following on from One day with you, we catch up with Tress,Noah and various other characters, so lovely to see how their story develops over another 24 hour period!
Although told over a 24 hour period so much is included from past secrets, relationship issues, family ties and support, friendship and second chances!
Grief such as that experienced by Tress and Noah has such long lasting effects and the repercussions of that are felt for a long time, but life has to go on particularly when you have a child and careers, realisation of what your new life looks like now and the future can be daunting but everyone is entitled to a second chance at Love and it wonderful to see how this is played out.
Thank you NetGalley fir this early read
Book Review:
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
February 9th was a day that changed Tress and Noah’s lives forever. Now a year after the accident they find themselves on the precipice of new beginnings. Will this be the second year February 9th brings them heartbreak, or will it be the healing they desperately need?
I have concluded that if Shari Low writes a book, I will love it. She has quickly become one of my favorite authors, having mastered ensemble storytelling. Not only does Low effortlessly weave multiple characters stories together, she does so on a twenty-four hour time frame.
While One Year After You is a sequel to One Day With You, readers can easily jump into the story of Tress, Noah, Keli, and Odette. At the beginning of the book Low does a character breakdown and recaps the significant events that took place during One Day With You. This is a perfect introduction if readers have not read the first story, but it also helps those returning to the story as well. I thought for sure I would need to reread One Day With You, but Low does such a fantastic job recapping that I was able to dive right into this story. It was helpful without being too repetitive.
As with One Day With You, I don’t want to go into too much detail as to spoil the plot. This is a beautiful story that reminded me how important forgiveness and being open to love is. While life can be messy, it can also be a beautiful journey.
Special thanks to Netgalley, Shari Low, and Boldwood Books for allowing me to read this book in exchange for my honest review.
Wow it was so good a great follow on book I loved Nancy how she was a tough person in a lot of way a lovely book hooked you into the plot a great read
For forty years the fabulous Odette Devine has been a beloved matriarchal actress on Scotland’s longest-running TV show.
Today she is broken, betrayed, and desperate to find out if this is her payback for a lie she told forty years ago.
A year ago today, Tress Walker’s husband was killed in a car accident, on the same day she gave birth to their baby. Reeling from the discovery that he was with his mistress, Tress has to choose whether to protect her fragile heart or open it to love again.
Noah Clark was devastated to discover his wife and his best friend were having an affair. Now the love of his life is asking for another chance to make their marriage work. But can there ever be a way back, once the trust is broken?
Noah’s sister Keli Clark has recently been ghosted by the man she loves. When a shocking message from a complete stranger reveals the reason why, Keli will have to decide whether to forgive, forget, or to make sure he pays.
Twenty-four hours. Four shocking secrets. One tumultuous tale of love, loss and second chances.
My review
5/5
As those of you who follow me on social media will know, my husband and I became puppy raisers for Guide Dogs in October, and Pete the fox red labrador came to live with us, and turned our lives upside down.
I’ve barely read a word since he arrived, and have DNF’ed a whole pile of books. Sleep holds more appeal for me than stories right now. (Perhaps as an author I shouldn’t admit that, but it does!)
But this book kept me turning the pages! For this book, I’ve stayed up beyond my bedroom, and not worried about being woken up at 5 a.m. by our little fella wanting his breakfast!
This is the first book I’ve read by Shari Low and I’ll be seeking out all her others. This is definitely one to get your paws on!
Thank you to NetGalley Boldwood Books, Rachel's Random Resources and the author for the ARC of this book.
I had been looking forward to reading One Year After You as it follows on from the fantastic One Day With You book. I loved it, a big five stars! This can be read as a standalone but you would miss out on so much by not reading it first.
I absolutely love Shari Lowe’s books, I’ve read quite a few now and she is a must read author for me. Her stories always stay with me long after I’ve turned the last page.
I was fully immersed in the story from the beginning. I was keen to find out what would happen with Keli and her boyfriend and to Odette now she is no longer going to be acting and what is the secret she was hiding? Then there was Tress and Noah who we knew from the previous book. I was eager to know how their lives had changed in the year since the events happened in the previous book. I don’t want to say too much for those who haven’t yet read the previous book and wish to do so.
As with all Shari’s books I’m always fully invested with the story and the characters. I highly recommend giving this one a read. There are some sensitive subjects covered but the author always manages to filter through some light humour and keep me gripped throughout.
Thank you to Rachel’s Random Resources and the publisher for having me on the tour and for my gifted ebook.
This is the second book in this series but it’s an equally great read as the first! Shari writes the most wonderful, real characters that have you rooting for them from the first page. I especially loved Nancy and her no nonsense approach to life! I really enjoy that these books are set over just one day and have several pov’s going with multiple storylines as it makes for really hard to put down reads! This one was full of drama and I loved every page!
I was so excited for the sequel to One Day With You! One Day With You tells the story of Tress and Max, and how their world changed forever in one day.
One Year After You is just as readable, emotional and powerful as the previous book. I loved being back with the characters a year later, seeing how they had adjusted to the catastrophic events of a year ago.
There is still drama, shocks, and the wonderful humour I had hoped for. I think it can work as a standalone as Low reminds you of what happened, but I definitely think readers would love the first book, and it would be a crying shame to miss out.
Shari Low is on my must read list!
A brilliant follow-up from her previous book. This is sad, funny and full of emotion. A well written book as always from this author. My thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.
4.5 ⭐️s!
Love, love, loved this book! This is the follow up/conclusion to One Day With You. As with One Day Eith You, this book also takes place over the course of 1 day. 24 hours. I love that format! This book brings in some fascinating new characters but also brings the story of Tess and Noah to a satisfying conclusion. Excellent characters,
some you will love and some you will love to hate. Excellent character development along with a fun and fabulous storyline.
Shari Low: One Year After You.
#OmeYearAfterYou takes place exactly a year after Tress gave birth to her son, and on the same day lost her husband in a tragic car crash.
If this tale sounds familiar, you may well have read Shari Low’s previous novel, One Day With You.
#OneYearAfterYou can easily be read as a stand alone story, but you’ll certainly get more from it if you read #OneDayWithYou first.
I was very excited to catch up with Tress, Noah and their many friends and neighbours,as well as meet some fabulous new characters.
As always Shari Low creates well rounded and (mostly) likeable characters.
I challenge anyone not to fall a little bit in love with Noah. A paediatrician with the biggest heart.
I enjoyed Odette’s story. Especially the clever little twist at the end.
#OneYearAfterYou is a thoroughly feel good read. With a cast of strong and colourful characters. Shari Low takes us on a captivating journey, set over the space of one action packed day.
I’m never disappointed with a book by Shari Low, and #OneYearAfterYou didn’t let me down.
Full of Shari Low’s sharp wit and cleverly crafted plots, that twist and turn before all coming together beautifully at the end.
Another must read from this bright and funny lady.

With thanks to Rachel’s Random Reads, Netgalley and Boldwood for a digital arc of this title.
Noah and Tress are back. It's been one year since their other halves had their final affair; that left one of them dead.
One year full of grief and a lot of healing.
But Anya is back to having words with Noah and Tress may just be ready for some romance, but real life will always bring its drama and questions. These two characters will need to navigate this strange and memorable twenty-four hours; as well as reflect on the year before.
I just love this author. Low brings us four main characters with a narrative of twenty-four hours. This author gives us complex storylines which intertwine and tie together beautifully. I just can't get enough of them.
This author should be on everyone's to-be-read list as they never disappoint.
This author has been on my radar for a while, and, now that I’ve finally read one of her books, I understand why she is so popular! Her writing flows effortlessly, her characters are realistic, and she creates enough tension and plot twists to keep you on your toes while still hoping for the happy ending you feel everyone deserves. I enjoyed the use of multiple narrators and the switch of perspective that goes with it. Plus, I liked the way that the connections between the characters are slowly revealed, making every storyline organically come together. This is definitely not the last book by Shari Low that will find its way to my hands!

One Year After You is a standalone story but a magnificent follow up to One Day With You. Told over a period of 24 hours following several MCs with some amazing side characters.
Shari Low has an incredible knack for developing numerous unique characters and yet making it easy to follow. That's pretty amazing for me as I often get mixed up with too many characters.
So well done!

Shari Low has done it again and produced a book which had me sitting up through the night to finish it as I couldn’t tear myself away from the fabulous cast of characters and the wonderful tale told about them.
This is told over a 24 hour period and follows on from the previous book One Day with You, and indeed others which feature some of the associated characters.
This book features several main stories and characters; Tress and Noah, who both lost cheating partners in a tragic accident a year ago, Odette, a soap actress with secrets to hide and a failing career to name a few. It follows them all hour by hour a year after the crash that saw Tress made a widow and a mother in the same day.
The book is funny, well written and had me alternating between laughter and tears. Quite simply amazing and 5 star worthy.
Thanks to Netgalley, the publisher and the author for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.
I am a huge fan of Shari's work and I have been for a few years now. I have almost caught up with everything that she has written and I can honestly say that I have enjoyed them all even if certain parts pf the books do make me feel rather emotional. I read the synopsis of 'One Year After You' and it certainly sounded like the sort of book I have come to expect from Shari Low- a fun, light hearted, uplifting and at times emotional story. Well it was certainly all that and so much more. I thoroughly enjoyed reading 'One Year After You' but more about that in a bit.
I was drawn to 'One Year After You' as soon as I saw the name 'Shari Low' on the cover of a book that I knew I hadn't read yet. I made the fatal mistake of starting to read the book shortly before I went to bed. Let's just say that bedtime was delayed and I had a distinct 'lack of sleep' hangover the following morning but it was so worth it. To say that reading 'One Year After You' became addictive is a bit like saying that I quite like eating cake - a massive understatement. I would pick the book up only intending to read a chapter or two but I would become so wrapped up in the story and in the lives of the different characters that I would still be sat there reading several chapters and an hour or so later. If I had to put the book to one side for any length of time then I would immediately look forward to being able to pick the book up again. I had to keep reading to see if things worked out in the way in which I thought it would. The pages ended up turning over so quickly that it was almost as if they were turning themselves and the page numbers became a blur. All too quickly I reached the end of 'One Year After You'. I found 'One Year After You' to be a delight to read from start to finish with a generous amount of humour and a fair few emotional moments.
'One Year After You' is superbly written but then I have come to expect nothing less from Shari Low. Shari has an easy going writing style that is easy to get used to and easy to get along with. In fact reading one of Shari's books seems more like a chat between friends rather than reading a book. Shari has the knack of making the reader feel as though they are part of the story and at the heart of the action. Shari clearly cares about her characters and this shines through in the very vivid and realistic way in which she describes them. She makes her characters seem just as real as you and I. The story is divided up into chapters with each chapter written from the point of view of a single character. The chapters interlink and the story flows seamlessly as a result.
In short, I thoroughly enjoyed reading 'One Year After You' and I wholeheartedly recommend this book to other readers. I will certainly be reading more of Shari's work in the future. The score on the Ginger Book Geek board is a very well deserved 5* out of 5*.
You would think with the number of people involved in the story and with it all taking place in just a day (not counting the epilogue) that there’s no way you will care about them all that much… but you do. I don’t know what kind of magic Shari is into, but it’s incredible! Her story telling is in a league of its own.
I cared so much about Tress, Buddy, Noah, Keli, Nancy, Odette and even Calvin and Yvie and other smaller characters in this story. I feel like I need to tell the world about what they all went through and how it all ended. The ups, the downs, the “no way that didn’t just happen” and the uplifting, heartwarming moments.
Wow, just wow!
“One Year After You” is a gripping story about love, loss, and second chances, focusing on the lives of Tress Walker, Noah Clark, Odette Devine, and Keli Clark. Shari Low, the author, skillfully picks up the tale a year after the events that turned Tress’s life upside down, showing how she copes and rebuilds.
The story gets even more interesting as it brings back Noah, who went through a similar upheaval. We get a closer look at Noah’s experiences, giving us different perspectives on how life changes after major events.
Odette Devine, a beloved actress on a Scottish TV show for a long time, adds complexity to the story. We see her dealing with betrayal and trying to understand if it’s payback for a lie she told many years ago.
Keli Clark, Noah’s sister, becomes a crucial part of the story. Her struggles with being ignored by someone she loves bring excitement and intrigue. Keli has to decide whether to forgive, forget, or take action, adding more emotions to the tale.
The connections between these characters create an engaging and coherent storyline. Shari Low’s storytelling makes sure readers not only enjoy the story but also feel connected to the characters. “One Year After You” is a great continuation of the narrative, providing a satisfying end to the journey that started with One Day With You.
Heart-breaking, emotional and gloriously addictive, One Year After You is the stunning new novel by Shari Low.
Odette Devine once had the world at her feet as one of Scottish TV’s best-loved TV actresses. Now, forty years later, she is broken, betrayed and desperate to find out if she is paying the harshest price of all for a lie she had told four decades ago. Tress Walker experienced great joy and great pain in just twenty-four hours. She had given birth to her child on the same day her husband had been killed in a car accident. Worse, Tress then discovered that her husband was with his mistress and had a life she knew nothing about. Is Tress ready to forge forward with her life twelve months later? Or will she continue to be haunted by the past?
The bottom had fallen out of Noah Clark’s world when he discovered that his wife and best friend had been having an affair. Now the love of his life has returned and is asking for a second chance. Is Noah ready to leave the past behind and take a second chance on love? Or has too much water flown under the bridge for him to ever trust anyone ever again? Meanwhile his sister Keli has recently been ghosted by the man she loves, but it soon transpires that there might have been more to this situation than she previously thought. Is Keli ready to forgive and forget? Or will she find herself consumed by a desperate need for vengeance?
Odette, Tress, Noah and Keli are on the precipice of making a decision that will haunt them for the rest of their lives. Will they make the right choices? Or will they all end up taking a wrong turn?
Shari Low is at the top of her writing game and with One Year After You she has penned a compulsively readable, highly charged and wholly absorbing tale that will get under your skin and completely and utterly consume you. With a sterling gift for characterization and her ability to make her readers laugh and cry along with her protagonists, Shari Low continues to prove to be a storyteller of substance creating page-turners that are involving, immersive and absolutely impossible to put down.
